As a mother of an autistic child, knowing how greatly diverse the spectrum is, this was still a beautiful representation even though my personal experience looks different.

Wren Southwick feels stuck. She gave up her job to run her own party planning business. And business is slow, she throws her best friend an Autumn style birthday party.
Enter August Finch, an autistic farmer with just enough grumpy vibes and quick witted banter that had me laughing.

I don’t like how the “towns people” are inclined to treat Gus a certain way, and the looks they give him, simply because he is autistic, referring to him as a rude asshole. Or “weird” and “strange” repeatedly.
That is the only negative thing I can say about this book.

Side note, Bash’s protectiveness of August is endearing. And I’d love to see a Bash & Raven book.

Is it June? Yes. Am I already counting down for Fall? Yes.
And this book helped me feel all the cutesy cosy vibes.

in the mood or in need for some cozy autumn vibes? well u should pick this short n’ sweet book and put in on your tbr because it checks all the boxes that u have imagined by that gorgeous and lovely cover 🧡.

firstly i truly need to say that i loved the playlist of the book because i found a lot of favourite songs by some of my favs and for the vibes those are perfect so 👏🏻👏🏻
then i have to say that i’ve read this book in one sitting and not just because it was really short but also because it was a very adorable world to immerse and escape! i truly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and mood described that it made me want even more to be in the fall season with my blankets and cozy drinks ☕️ .

we are set in eaglewood a small town that gives the stars hollow vibes (ikyk) with its various characters and among them we have a farmer with his brother and his farm full of funny and cute animals! this farmer’s called august and he’s autistic and grumpy when he wants to be and well he’s very grumpy because he meets wren our party planner everything will change and not for him but also for her since the start they had chemistry combined with a lot of truly delightful and funny moments that i truly loved and made me smile while reading and i have to say that there were some hints at other characters relationships that made me feel very curious 👀 so i would be interested in reading about their stories in future if there is the occasion but among the romance aspect we also got the chance to explore the perception of people and how it can affect your life and it made me feel very protective about gus especially in certain situations and we also saw how is it important to be the better version of ourselves by putting ourselves as our first priority thanks to wren story and i think that these aspects were very important in the story!!

a lot of thanks to netgalley, harpercollins uk and one more chapter for sending me the e-arc of this cozy story in exchange for my honest opinion!!

This is a charming, cozy and light read that is perfect for Autumn.

I have never read a book with a meet-cute that starts with the MFC being bitten on the butt by a goat before but somehow it works and sets the scene for this quirky and sweet read.

What I loved in particular:
-Gus, being neurodivergent means that he is often understood but he broke his arm saving a puppy, what else could you want in a man.
- I liked the small town supporting characters, especially Bash and Jamie.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this ARC

There’s Pumpkin About You by Athena Carstairs is the definition of a cozy fall romance! I absolutely adored it. It’s sweet, charming, full of autumn vibes, and the perfect book to curl up with on a crisp day with a warm drink in hand.

The story follows Wren, an ambitious party planner, and Gus, a grumpy pumpkin farmer with a heart of gold. Wren visits Gus’s farm while planning her best friend’s fall birthday bash, and what starts as a business arrangement slowly turns into something deeper. Their slow burn romance is full of warmth, heart, and just the right amount of banter.

What really stood out to me was how beautifully Gus was written. He’s autistic, and the book handles his character with so much care and thoughtfulness. The way the small town misunderstands him felt heartbreakingly real, but seeing Wren take the time to understand him, support him, and just see him for who he is was incredibly moving. I loved how their relationship developed gently over time, with Gus stepping outside of his comfort zone simply because he cares for Wren.

Gus and Wren are both layered and lovable, and their story felt grounded and genuine. It’s not just about falling in love; it’s about growth, patience, and showing up for someone even when it’s not easy.

This book hit all the right notes for me. The pumpkin farm setting? Perfectly atmospheric. The storyline? Addicting. The characters? Unforgettable. I’ll definitely be rereading this one every fall and it’s officially on my annual cozy season must read list!

Thank you to NetGalley, Athena Carstairs, and One More Chapter for the eARC of this book.

First off, a big thank you to NetGalley for this ARC! 🩷

I loved this book!!! I read it in a single day because it was just that fun and enjoyable. The side characters were fantastic, and I’m really hoping this turns into an interconnected standalone series. I would be so excited to read their stories too!

As an autistic reader, the autism representation in this book is amazing and really meant a lot to me. Honestly got quite emotional as I could relate to a lot of Augusts problems and feelings. Also to have feelingsI’ve felt before so well articulated just made me emotional and appreciative.

I also found myself getting frustrated, in a protective way on August’s behalf, especially with how he was treated by some of the people around him, including Wren at times. But I recognize that I may be particularly sensitive to these things as someone with autism myself.

This was so close to being a five-star read for me. The only reason I held back slightly was that a few things felt unfinished. I was really hoping for some kind of resolution regarding how badly the town treated August. And toward the end, I found myself getting a bit frustrated with Wren and Gus’s conflicts, as it often felt like their misunderstandings stemmed from Wren not recognizing how August’s autism shaped his reactions. That said, I acknowledge this might hit harder for me personally than it would for others.

Overall, an amazing book! I truly hope the author writes more in this world as I adored the writing, the characters, and the storytelling. I’ll definitely be picking up whatever they publish next

There’s pumpkin about you is a book about a party planner named Wren who wants to throw a party at August Finch’s pumpkin farm. The barn she wants it in is run down and they need to work together to fix it.

I loved the character of August who is autistic. I think this is a great rep with his autism shown in a thoughtful and deep way. It brought a whole lot more understanding to people that have it in a high functioning way.

I didn’t like Wren most of the time. She was overbearing and judgemental and kept trying to make decisions about what she wanted with no thought to what August as the business owner wanted. The romance was also too Insta for me. I did like that she seemed to realise she was being rude in the end though so props for character growth

All in all this is a sweet romance with great neurodiverse rep

I don’t know how to really feel about this book but I’m not sure if I liked it. This was supposed to feel like a slow burn but it was more of instalike and trying to bicker with each other just to hold off the romance. I didn’t like the romance aspect, it felt like it took too long and then just happened all at once. I did not like Wren at all, she would get frustrated, rude and a little mean with Gus even with knowing what he struggles with and how it takes him time.

Thank you HarperCollins UK and NetGalley for letting me read a free copy of this book in exchange for a review

Eaglewood is a town where ‘new enemy’ and ‘new crush’ are synonyms. Wren and August’s story is a comfortable read, that will make you want to curl up with a cinnamon pumpkin latte and devour it. Wren is an event planner about to use August’s pumpkin farm for a party. Unfortunately, the barn is run down, needs a lot of work, and the MCs need to work together - which is always such a fun subplot for me. Their bantering is top tier, and their developing romance made me personally root for them as though I’m setting up 2 of my own friends.

This book explores how there are people who make you better, but also people for whom you want to be best versions of yourself. Be it friends, found family, or potential significant others.

Since everyone is inherently flawed, it seems easy for people to comment on someone’s neurodivergence and life, needlessly so. The depiction of other people’s rudeness towards Gus was spot on, considering I have myself seen bluntness being termed as insolent. It’s a good commentary on how society should do better and treat others with kindness.

I think this is why I liked Wren so much. The moment she realised she was putting herself first not caring about the aftermath of her decisions, she took a step back and reassessed the situation. It says a lot about a person, and gives me food for thought!

Gus and Wren bicker endlessly but learn to bring the best out in each other, to slow down and appreciate the ‘now’ which is such an important aspect of lives these days. They learn to be mindful of each other amid all the bantering, and that is what I loved about this book the most.

There’s so much more I thought was left to be said, which is what makes me think there’s potentially more to this story and more books. TPAY comes out August 22, and I suggest everyone add this to your TBR!!

There’s Pumpkin About You is a warm, cosy autumnal romance that feels like a big hug in book form. It follows a party planner with a lot of heart who ends up working with a grumpy pumpkin farmer to throw a birthday party in his barn. What follows is a charming story full of fall vibes, gentle humor, and slow-burn chemistry. I really enjoyed the cosy, feel-good atmosphere, this is definitely a book to curl up with as the leaves start to fall and the air gets crisp. The characters were sweet and relatable, and I appreciated how the story explored autism in a thoughtful and empathetic way. It was refreshing to see how the book touched on being misunderstood, while still keeping things light and hopeful. For me its a 3.5/5 rating, it absolutely delivers on what it promises: a fun, heartwarming autumn romance that leaves you smiling. Perfect for fans of pumpkin patches, grumpy-sunshine dynamics, and all things fall.

I'm sorry to say that this book fell a bit short for me.
The story had a lot of potential, but Wren was so unlikable, disrespectful, and incredibly rude that she ruined the book for me. She constantly went ballistic on August over the smallest things, even when he was absolutely right for not allowing himself to be steamrolled into agreeing with her decisions about his barn.

The representation was handled well, but the problem was that Wren didn’t seem to care about it at all. One moment, she’s listening to his brother explain that August might come off as rude because of his autism and that she needs to be patient — and in the very next paragraph, she accuses August of always being rude. It was incredibly frustrating.

Unfortunately, this made it hard for me to enjoy the romance.

I absolutely adore this book. Such a cute fall romance.
The storyline revolves around Gus, who runs a pumpkin farm with his brothers. Wren who runs her own event business.
Wren is planning a fall birthday party for her bestfriend. When she winds up visiting Gus farm.
They strike up a business deal, which will have them working in close proximity.
Gus is Autistic, the small town he lives in treats him poorly. They think his being rude when his just saying it factually.
Wren & Gus grow closer over the months working on the Farm together.
The character’s of Gus & Wren are perfectly written. I absolutely adore Gus. He gets Overwhelmed with certain situations. But will do them for Wren.
This is such a great book to get you into the Autumn / Fall Spirit.
The storyline is great and makes you want to keep reading till the end.
This book will be added to my automatic Autumn/Fall reread list every year!

This is a very cute and cozy read with hidden depths!

I loved how Wren and August were both real, flawed adults who fell in love and were trying to be better to each other. I really appreciated the representation of Wren’s mental health and how she gets overwhelmed. I also liked how the book showed August and what he feels and deals with in a small town as someone with autism.

The found family trope was also so cute, that’s always a favorite of mine.

I’m not sure if the author has sequels planned but I loved the side characters and am definitely intrigued by the potential and hinted at romances. Thanks so much for the arc!

Sadly this just didn't work for me. I appreciated the autism rep and that we had bipoc/neurodivergent leads. But the romance didn't move me. I found Wren very annoying and not really understanding. She did admit when she was wrong though. I just found it weird that, for example, Gus's brother explains to her 'because of his autism sometimes things gus says can come across as rude and abrupt, but he doesn't always mean it that way so please be understanding and patient with him'. then in the next scene she's accusing him of constantly being rude to her?

And that was the whole relationship. Yes, sometimes Gus was being intentionally rude. Sometimes he wasn't. But that was it. There was some bits where they tried to say the arguing was basically both of them 'unmasking' from social expectations, but it actually just came across like they didn't really like each other. I just found it weird how Wren forced her way into their lives. Also she was unprofessional. I felt this for example in the scene where she's picking colours for the barn, august tells her he wants to keep it the same colours, and she blows up at him for being stubborn. he literally has to explain to her 'i am the owner of this business, and this is a choice i'm making as the owner and you need to respect that as a professional;. like she was just very strange in her reactions to him. also at sixty percent through i started to struggle as this party hadn't even gotten going yet. like they were still talking about the barn and doing the harvest and that's it. it was just so slow.

there were also silly mistakes like gus wearing his glasses then taking them out his pocket and putting them on in the same scene. also clunky things like wren going to the coffee shop and saying '[the new barista' was slower but still made the coffees faster than i could' well yes...because you're not a trained barista?????? what was the point of this line??

Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review. It was great to read a book with an autistic character as a main read. Gus was charming, complicated, sexy, misread and alive. He read as yungblud in my mind. He was a pumpkin farmer trying to keep his families farm afloat. He has two brothers and a waster of a father who ups and leaves and steals all of the farm saving pot to live with a woman he barely knows. His brothers support and show up. Wren is a party planner who lives in a nearby town looking for a potential venue for her best friends 30th party.
She falls in love with the farm and sees the potential. Her and Gus clash instantly but they agree to work together along with her best friend and brother to het the farm fixed up. Gus has a really tough time as people are ignorant around autism and think he is rude. This was a great book. I cant wait to see if there is a sequel.
