The Never List is a romantasy why choose masterpiece, because yeah if I was in Rylee’s shoes I also wouldn’t be able to pick just one (leaning towards Jax though 👀).

Four powerful princes, one choosing ceremony where they select a potential mate. Once selected, Rylee has to spend a month with each immortal prince in their respective cities. But she doesn’t go alone, she takes with her a secret, a secret so big that it could damn them all.

This book. This book! It was super fast paced with lots of spice sprinkled in so if anyone is looking for their next romantasy read, look no further. But just beware the cliffhanger will make you scream and beg for book two to materialise immediately.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus books for this eARC. I leave this review honestly and voluntarily.

"To the readers who always struggle to pick a
favorite book boyfriend. Don't worry-- here, you'll
never have to choose. It's okay to love them all."

The dedication already says it all!

The book has an interesting premise. Rylee, the main character, is sneaking into "The Choosing" to gain information about her missing sister. "The Choosing" is a party where the 4 sons of the kings, the "Legends," pick a mate. That ends up to be Rylee.

I think what would describe the book best is "all smut, little plot."
Yes, the book does have a warning about being spicy in the very beginning. But in my opinion, it was a little unrealistic how quickly that happened. Rylee doesn't even know the Legends but is happy to engage with any of them right off the bat. I would have personally loved it if we could have gotten some bonding moments first or if the plot would have been more fleshed out as it was a GOOD plot and honestly intriguing.

Apart from that, i do like all of the characters. I liked the story enough to read the sequel as it was an overall easy and fast read.

If you're ever in between books and you're looking for something quick and easy, I think this is it. But if all spice and no plot isn't your thing, then this won't work for you.

When Fate Hands You Four Princes…

Rylee is the fated mate for four princes. Yes, four. Because one would just be too easy. These royal heartthrobs NEED her to save their kingdom from internal and external threats—but mostly, they just need her. And, naturally, they are all devastatingly attractive, deeply devoted to her from the moment they spend any amount of time with her, and conveniently represent four different romantic archetypes.

Rylee, for her part, is a classic romantay heroine: forthright, stunningly beautiful, more powerful than she realises, and, well… not exactly overflowing with unique traits. But who needs personality when you have four insanely devoted royal suitors and a destiny to fulfil?

Meet the Line-Up:

🔥 Kal – Sweet, warm, the guy who actually listens when you talk and gives you a hug when you need one.

😈 Axl – Fun-loving, chaotic energy, the one most likely to convince you to do naughty things and thoroughly enjoy it.

🧐 Pierce – Intellectual, magnetic, definitely the romantic guy.

💀 Jax – Dark, dangerous, the broodiest of them all… and obviously, the hottest. He's the one with the most 'tough her and die' energy.

As part of her whole mate-to-save-the-kingdom journey, Rylee has to stay with each of them in their respective kingdoms. This is where we get some world-building and plot, though let’s be honest—the focus is very much on her relationships rather than intricate political intrigue. There is a sub-plot regarding Rylee's sister that takes up some space, but it's mostly about Rylee falling deeply in love with her princes and wanting to help save them and their kingdoms. And honestly? That’s exactly what I signed up for.

The Verdict?

This book is spicy, fun, and exactly what you’d expect from a high-heat romantasy. Did I feel deep emotional investment? Not particularly. Will I immediately grab book two? Probably.

Did I get the palate-cleansing, why-choose escapism I wanted? Absolutely.

Just a note - this book does end on a cliffhanger so be aware there is no HEA in this one.

3.5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ rounding up to ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Never List, book 1 in the series, is all about the romance and ends with leaving us on the edge of our seat, ready for the action that the plot teases to really begin! I can't wait for book 2 for the plot to really thicken 😉

We follow Rylee as she navigates being the potential mate for all four 'Legends' while keeping her own secrets that could ruin it all. As readers, we have four delicious MMCs to lust over, in great detail, including being treated to chapters from each of their POVs 😈 My only criticism would be that the promise that one or two of them would have darker appetites and would 'ruin her', never came to fruition.

While I did enjoy reading this, I did feel like the plot fell away a little in favour of spicy scenes until the last couple of chapters. Little more plot in book 2 please, Jade 🤞

I absolutely DEVOURED this book.
The pace, the smut, the sass, it was just so good.

One thing to mention is this book is honestly about 70% smut. I’m not mad about it, but if you’re not into that then this is absolutely not the right book for you.

My only negative, and it wasn’t negative enough to warrant knocking off a star, was that I wanted MORE. I wanted more of a slow burn with Jax, more world building, more back story of the Legends and their parents. I don’t think i’ve ever wanted a book to slow down before? It was so fast paced that I found myself disappointed when things were over so quickly.

I am eagerly awaiting the second instalment of the Never List saga.

"It will consume me if I let it. It will send me into absolute madness if I allow it, but wouldn't it be such a sweet way to go?"

Okay, for a start, I was a bit worried when I realised that this was why choose with 4MMC and 1FMC that it was going to be 400 pages of pure smut... I can confirm, it was not!

It was the perfect mix of plot, spice, angst and banter. I laughed, I gasped and I cried real tears reading this... multiple times 😂 every Prince had me falling for them in their own way.

And the cliff hanger...oh my god. Rylee and the Legends of Chaos left you on the edge of your seat. To dangle there for God knows how long.... I'll just be here waiting until the next book ⚰️

Would I say this is a good book? No. Did I love it and eat it up within less than 24 hours? YES.

The Never List is a super fast paced, easy read, why choose romantasy that feels like the love child of the Broken Bonds series and the bachelor but there’s 4 bachelors and only one girl.
I really enjoyed the pacing in this book and the story line was really unique and intriguing!
I did see the big reveal at the end coming from a mile away but this didn’t put me off at all. I’m very excited to see what book 2 in the series brings!!

Their Love. Kitten. Darling. Liar. Butterfly. Her Legends

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing an ARC for The Never List.

I've found a new favourite writer! Wow. Just, wow.
I couldn't put the book down!!!

A why choose 4x MMC aptly named Legends of Choas! The FMC was feisty and strong. I really enjoyed reading about her and seeing how she interacted with each MMC.

I felt like I spent a lot of time getting to know Kal, but Axl's, Pierce and Jax's were half as long so I was a little disappointed and would have liked longer with each MMC 😍

When there was spice... it was spicing 🥵🥵🌶🌶🌶

That ending though; so many questions and that cliff hanger WAS EVIL!!!!!!

I could read Jade Presley all day long. I need to know what happens next...

The Never List is the first book in a spicy romantasy where the heroine does not have to choose between her love interests. I was so excited when I heard that this book featured a reverse harem romance that I neglected to read the synopsis and went in blind.

The Never List is fast paced and extremely enjoyable. Every single chapter made me more and more invested in Rylee and her Princes. I really loved the dynamics between them all and I liked how she was able to interact with each of them separately as well as together.

After the way this book ended, I have so many questions and I am highly looking forward to reading more. My favourite prince was definitely Jax and I cannot wait to see more from him in the sequel.

When is book 2 coming out?!?! I loved this!!
So easy to fall into this book and get lost in the world. The characters are so easy to fall
In love with, I loved how the 4 MMC are all so different but yet I loved them all! And the FMC is a strong character that also had the right amount of feisty fire in her.

My first book from this author but won’t be my last, I very much look forward to continuing this series in the future

This was the first Why Choose that I've read that didn't feel icky!!

I was so invested in each of their individual relationships, and I loved how it tired into the story and there was a reason there was one mate.

There wasn't a lot of plot, but you definitely read this for the romance element - and the romance I did really enjoy!!

Rylee was self assured and was easy to read, at no point did she cringe me out which usually happens with why choose books!

Full reccomend for a quick, easy and SPICY read.

Definitely a good romantasy. I loved the four mates with their different personalities and characteristics, who wouldn't! But as for the fathers..... Cant wait for the next one.

A why choose Romantasy with plenty of spice and beds big enough for 5. Have I caught your attention? Then The Never List by Jade Presley might need to be added to your tbr. But be warned, this isn’t a lemon and herb read, this is peri peri!
This book follows Rylee Gray who is searching to find her missing sister, but in order to gather information she must partake in a set of trials to become the mate to the 4 princes.
This is a fast paced story that unfortunately puts spice before plot which I found to be lacking somewhat. The world building falls a bit flat, and although all 4 princes have distinctive personalities, it felt like the setting severely lacked.
This book would be ideal for those who like their romantasy books leaning more to romance than fantasy.

Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Was this the most groundbreaking book I’ve ever read? No. But did I have an absolute blast reading it? Yes! The Never List is the kind of book you fly through in one sitting—it’s fast-paced, fun, and packed with just the right amount of spice.

And that plot twist? I did not see that coming. Just when I thought I knew where things were going, everything flipped. But the real kicker? That cliffhanger. I don’t think I’ve ever been more frustrated by one, in the best way possible. I need the next book ASAP.

If you’re looking for an easy, spicy, and thoroughly entertaining read, this one is definitely for you!

The Never List by Jade Presley is a romantasy book that is about four Legends of Chaos Jax, Kal, Axl and Pierce and is told from the perspective of Rylee Gray the female main character. Rylee is from a place called Ashland which the best way I can describe it is the District 12 of this universe Rylee’s older sister Erin goes missing so she decides to sneak into an event called The Choosing where the four legends need to choose a mate in order for them to ascend the throne and their powers to reach their full potential. Despite Rylee sneaking around and keeping her head down to look for information on her sisters whereabouts she is still chosen to be the legends mate potential at first she dreads this but concludes that she can use the access to resources and information to her advantage.
I did really enjoy the concept of this story the characters, their powers and the world building was amazing I really also liked Rylee’s strength and determination in finding her sister I loved the representation of friendship with Rylee and her best friends. However, there are things if I’m being honest that I’m slightly critical about for example the continuous use of the word ‘Goddess’ or ‘Goddesses’ I appreciate in that universe God does not exist but the word or its plural was used on every single page if not multiple times and considering there are 410 pages that’s a lot for me. I appreciate that this books is a romantasy however I do wish there was more of a focus on the fantasy elements or a better balance between the fantasy and romance because while the romance was good I couldn’t help but pick up on the lack of fantasy throughout I just feel that would have elevated the book even further. This book is very spicy and I don’t mind spice but I did feel it was slightly overkill and found myself skimming over it after a while there were some parts of scenes that kind of gave me the ick but I cannot talk about them without spoiling the book.

This book? was phenomenal. That cliffhanger? Deadly.
Let me just go shove my head in a hole and cry at the book hangover that will now follow. Jade Presley knocked this one out of the park, and it was epic. Four princes, give me all of them. I love them all, but Jax my emo feeling nightmare sad boy, omg I love him so much. Thank you for the chance to read.

I'm not normally a fan of why choose books, I didn't realise this when I started reading it, however I must say it was done perfectly. I couldn't put this book down, I wanted to skip work so I could finish it. It was a little cliché, I enjoyed the twist at the end and I love that the FMC got to explore the MMCs I'm the book rather than it being focused on purely smut. I do wish that it was longer, I loved that time jumps etc but I really really liked jax and would have loved to get under his skin more. I will read the next one and I will buy a physical of this once it releases.
