Although I did not get the arc to read of this book it looks like in the book club kit it would have been a good read

I love these book club kits that We Are Bookish creates. They are so interactive and spark great thought exercises. I particularly appreciated the interview with author Jesse Q. Sutanto. I can't imagine the pressure the authors in the "meant to be series" have when reimagining classic and iconic fairytales in the modern world. The interview highlighted the care that Sutanto took to put Mulan in the finance world while still keeping the original theme of being your true self and how hard it can be to wear a mask. I also love how there are book suggestions at the end of this kit for further reading!

This kit gave me a wonderful behind-the-scenes look at Jesse Q. Sutanto’s thought process in reimagining Mulan’s story in a contemporary setting.

What stood out the most to me was how Sutanto emphasized bringing more women into Mulan's support circle, shifting away from the male-dominated roles seen in the Disney movie. It beautifully reflects real-world struggles where women’s dreams are often sidelined because of societal expectations.

The author’s reflections on immigrant identity, gender roles in both Chinese and American cultures, and the burden of masks we all wear felt deeply personal and relatable. I especially loved Mushu’s imagined advice in the interview: “Just get into a bar fight, then you’ll know who you are and what you’re made of.” It captured the quirky but meaningful tone the author clearly cherishes.

The exploration of toxic masculinity, modern finance and business settings, and the challenge of remaining true to oneself in such spaces makes me even more eager to read the actual book.

Even though this was just a kit, it made me appreciate the layers of thought and care Jesse Sutanto put into this retelling—and now I truly can’t wait to read Worth Fighting For itself!

Wait, this was so fun! When I saw that it was the 5th book in the Meant to Be collection and that it was Mulan, I nearly died. I've never done a Book Club Kit before, but loved this experience.

The Meant to Be collection as a story set has been somewhat hit or miss for me over the years, but I’m still really excited to see Mulan’s version. This kit seems excellent as far as a book club meeting goes, has a great author interview and discussion questions. I was pretty amused by the activities and the bookmarks were decent looking.

The shining star of this kit for me came from the good: legitimately cannot wait to try out those Chinese Rice Crispies and the Penicillin Mocktail.

This is my bookclub first packet that we are currently working on. We have a meeting once a month and the book marks along with the suggested next list was printed out. This was a great book club packet.

I loved the Worth Fighting For book club kit! It’s incredibly well put together and genuinely makes organizing a book club so much easier. The layout is super cute and easy to follow, and I really enjoyed the author interview—it added such a nice personal touch. The discussion questions sparked some great conversation, and the bookmarks and trivia were such fun extras (the bookmarks are adorable). I also appreciated the list of book recommendations for what to read next—it’s perfect for keeping the momentum going after finishing the book. I really appreciate this book club kit as an accompaniment to Worth Fighting For. I thought the questions were well crafted and made me think about a number of things I hadn’t considered immediately after finishing the book.

This book club kit offers something for every kind of reader. What I find most useful are the discussion questions—they keep our conversations lively when our usual chatter starts to fade. Having two questions straight from the author is a nice touch!

The included bookmarks are adorable, and the recipes are perfect for groups that meet in cozy homes—unlike mine, which is completely online.

While the trivia and games aren’t my book club’s style, they’d be great for more structured meetups. Wrapping up with reading suggestions and a list of the author’s other works is a helpful bonus, especially for anyone searching for their next great read.

I loved this book club kit for Worth Fighting For! I enjoyed the author interview from Jesse Q. Sutanto. She clearly approached this book from a place of great love for the original and put her own unique and contemporary spin on it. I loved the beautiful bookmarks! I also enjoyed the recs for what to read next (especially the rec for A Lady For A Duke!).

I'm not currently part of a book club but a few friends and I are tossing around the idea. This kit was super cute and lots of fun. The bookmarks were adorable and the kit included everything you would need.

The bookmarks are really cute and it also made me want to read Worth Fighting For. The book kit was packaged in a way that even if you’re not particularly looking at reading Worth Fighting For, you would want to after checking this book kit.

Unfortunately I am not part of a book club yet, but it is always interesting to read the guides, these book kits, to understand the possible topics of discussion.
