This was a wild ride through the perspective of two minds of twin prodigies to unearth a deeply buried truth and peel away centuries of lies hiding the said truth.
An exhilarating, fast paced and enjoyable sci/fi mystery that was both gripping and suspenseful from start to finish.
Thankyou to both Net galley and Cipher Veil Press for an arc of this unique book.

Wow, there is a lot going on here, which makes the book hard to describe. There are elements of science fiction, urban fantasy, mystery, and thriller genres wrapped up in some clever dialogue.

I loved the concept. An author realizes the best-seller he wrote was much more than flashes of brilliance as he was writing. As he comes to realize his ideas were never what they seemed to be, a wild global conspiracy slowly makes itself known, coming and going in many branching directions.

I liked Elias Maddox, the protagonist. His brother Drake was a bit flat, shown as a man seduced by and eventually who will do anything for power. Elias had much more nuance. I was able to follow Elias' thoughts and feelings and personal interactions much better than I could follow many of the many strings the puppet master was pulling.

The pacing varied. At first it was a slow build with a lot of recursion before picking up speed. Mills managed this well and kept my interest all the way through, even though the changes in POV could be abrupt and jarring.

The different assortment of settings were elegantly described and painted clear pictures in my head.

Overall I enjoyed and will definitely pick up the next one. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC and review.

The Devil in Fine Print is a fast-paced sci-fi thriller that had me hooked from the first page. The story of twin brothers—one chasing truth, the other seduced by power—unfolds with layered tension and some seriously cool tech and ancient secrets. I loved how it explored loyalty and ambition through such a wild, cinematic plot. The twists actually surprised me, and the emotional core between the brothers gave the story real depth. It was smart, exciting, and really hard to put down.

This book? Absolute chaos in the best way. The Devil in Fine Print gave me mad science, twin tension, secret societies, and enough plot twists to short-circuit my brain (in a good way). Elias and Drake are like genius-level chess pieces in a world-shaking game, and I was flipping pages like my life depended on it. Also, shout-out to the Codex for being spooky as hell. If you like your thrillers smart, techy, and unhinged—go read this. Now. 👨‍🔬📘⚡
