Great romcom. Perfect for a day at the beach or by the pool
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Got to go made me laugh! Loved this romcom! The characters were great! I loved this book! This was my first Kristen Bailey book and I’ll be adding her other books to my list to read! Cute book and a lovely non cheesy romcom!

In this spicy summer romance two languages teachers meet while abroad and sparks fly. Mistaken identities and a run in with a bull riding machine cause a missed opportunity until months later when Susie and Charlie meet up again as new teachers in a British school.
Can they recreate what they had while on holiday or has the chemistry fizzled now that real life rears its head?
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book which I am giving 3.5⭐️.
I think this book will be a perfect summer read for romance readers who don’t mind a bit of miscommunication and surprising obstacles thrown at the main couple. As a heads up to non-UK readers this book is very British, lots of references to normal everyday things in the UK that we just don’t have here so there was a bit of i don’t know what that is or what it means so if that bothers you might want to avoid this one.

Omg I laughed out loud from the very beginning to the end. I was reading this in the pool on holiday and my daughter was horrified at my very loud laughter at random times! 😂
I love Kristen’s books, you have such a way of hitting the right mark between making you fall in love and root for characters.. You just get the balance right , romance, cheese, smut and comedy. I’ve been to Seville and you describe it perfectly 🥰Thank you so much! Hopefully we won’t have to wait another year for your next one! X

After a breakup, Suzie does what any of us dream of—she packs up, heads back to London, and with a little push from her cousins, jets off to sunny Spain. Cue the cocktails, laughs, and spontaneous adventures. Enter Carlos—who she meets in a totally unexpected way. Let’s just say a holiday fling wasn’t on her to-do list… and things don’t exactly go to plan.
Fast forward to real life again: Suzie’s starting a new job, trying to move on, and guess who shows up as the new Spanish teacher? Yep. Carlos—but now he’s going by Charlie. Turns out he had a bit of drama at his last school, which landed him here.
I absolutely loved this! Their meet-cute was so fun, their chemistry was spot-on from the beginning, and I was rooting for them the whole time. Charlie is such a sweetheart, and getting to see his side of the story made me love him even more. The dual POV really worked—I was all in as soon as things started falling into place.
And Suzie’s cousins? Loved them. Brooke, Max, and the whole gang added so much warmth and humor—it wasn’t just a romance; it felt like being wrapped up in one big, chaotic, supportive family.
There were a few twists that kept things interesting too. Honestly, it was the perfect book to read out in the sun.
Thank you NetGalley for the download

This romantic comedy brought the heat and the laughs! This novel was such a cute, comfy read. It made me feel lighthearted, happy and emotional. It is a wonderful summertime book, that made me feel like I was on a vacation at the beach. This book centers around the female main character named Suzie, who’s a French teacher that has her heart broken. Suzie takes a much needed holiday at Mallorca with her cousins. The last thing on her mind is a romance, especially after her horrible break up. They always say that love is always found in unexpected places! During a night of skinny dipping, she ends up getting separated from the group she was in. A good looking man ends up rescuing her!
As this holiday ends and she returns to her job, she sees the man that rescued her at her school! He so happens to be a new Spanish teacher at the school she works at! White lies were told when they were on holiday, including him saying that his name was Carlos, when it’s really Charlie! This causes a lot of witty banter between the two and a whole lot of chaos! They end up getting forced back together on a school trip! As things unfold, things between these two get spicy and a romance forms! I really enjoyed the plot of the story and found it to be well executed! The main characters were both likable and I really enjoyed reading this book! Don’t forget to read the content warnings. I think fans of Emily Henry would really enjoy reading this book! Overall, I give this a 4 out of 5 stars rating!
Thank you NetGalley, author Kristen Bailey and Storm Publishing for this electronic arc of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
This book is expected to be published on July 18, 2025

What happens on vacation, stays on vaction. You would think so right? Well that's not the case for Suzie and Charlie. Suzie is going through an ugly break up who goes on holiday with her cousins in Mallorca. She meets Charlie, *cough cough* I mean "Carlos", and they have a steamy romance. When Suzie goes home to reality and her job as a french teacher, she meets the new spanish teacher who so happens to be Charlie. As they deal with the shock and still lingering attraction, they try to figure out if this could be something more or something that should have stayed in Mallorca.
This was cute and at times a bit quirky rom com. I enjoyed the humor and the spice wasn't over the top. I would definitely recommend this as a fun summer read that is easily bingeable by the pool or over the weekend. 3.5 stars rounded up

Hot to Go follows Suzie and Charlie, teachers who have a steamy holiday romance built on white lies and mistaken identities. However, they are both stunned when they both begin new jobs at the same school back in London. Now they’re stuck in department meetings pretending they haven’t seen each other naked, both feeling thoroughly duped, both wondering if that hot holiday fling can exist in real life.
This was a lighthearted, fun summer romance read that had a lot of humour and heart. The summer vibes were immaculate, and this would be a fantastic book to read on the beach or by the pool.
The characters were quirky, and I loved the relationship Suzie had with her sisters, as well as the relationship Charlie had with his siblings. There’s lots of love in this book.
The romance was very sweet, and I liked that Suzie and Charlie kept getting drawn back together. I wouldn’t say there was tons of depth, but this was a quick and low stakes read, which is exactly what I was after.
I did sometimes struggle with the writing, which would switch from first person to second person right after a piece of dialogue. This confused me a little, and I had to reread it to double check it wasn’t being said out loud. I also found some of the dialogue a little bit cringey.
The spice was fine, but some of it felt a bit icky to me as it took place on a school trip with children on the other side of a door, and one scene almost took place in a public park (again, on a school trip!).
Overall, I had fun with this book, and would recommend it if you’re looking for a fun beach read that you can whizz through in a day.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The way I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Never has a book had me laughing out loud and grinning like an idiot as much as this book did.
Suzie and Charlie have a steamy holiday fling in Spain, expecting to never see each other again... until they do, on the first day at their new jobs 😱 These characters are awkward, endearing and will have you rooting for them from the very start.
This book is filled to the brim with British humor and is the perfect pick for a summer read, or anyone looking for a light-hearted romance.
Thanks to Kristen, Storm, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4* Recommended deckchair reading
Saucy, bawdy, embarrassing and funny, Suzie and Charlie's love story contains all of this.
Take this on holiday or a long journey when you've more time to read. A few twists in the plot make it less predictable with plenty of laugh out loud one-liners.
Hugely entertaining.
Thank you Storm Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book, this review is my personal, unbiased opinion.

First of all, thank you so much for the ARC of this amazing book!
It is such a fun, easy read—perfect for anyone craving a light-hearted romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously. From the very first chapter, the story pulls you in with its upbeat tone and fast-moving plot. It’s the kind of book that you can breeze through in one or two sittings, ideal for a lazy weekend or a quick reading escape. The banter is sharp, funny, and full of chemistry, making their connection feel natural and enjoyable to watch unfold. While the romance stays on the sweet side, there’s plenty of charm and tension to keep things interesting.
If you’re looking for something that will lift your mood and make you smile, this is a great choice. A perfect pick for rom-com lovers who enjoy lovable characters and a touch of wit!!!

Kristen Bailey is an auto-read for me! I was so excited to see this title and I devoured this book! It is about a woman named Suzie who was just cheated on and ready for a little fun on vacation. She meets a guy named Charlie also on vacation and sparks fly! This book was funny, sexy, and while it could be a little slapstick, it was very well-written and mature. It had all the troupes - miscommunication, second (and third) chance, and third act breakup. Also, we were able to catch up with all of our favorites: The Callaghan sisters, Mia and Ed, and even Zoe! I loved every minute. A perfect rom-com for summer. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

It’s not summer without a Kristen Bailey book, and Hot To Go brought the heat! Suzie is a French teacher on vacation in Spain, celebrating her older cousin’s 40th birthday. Charlie is a Spanish teacher in Spain for a bachelor party. A chance meeting leads to a summer fling, but when they both end up teaching at the same school, will the summer magic continue or will real life get in the way? I adore her romcoms because they are heavy on the com - I love books that make me actually laugh out loud! While this is a stand alone book, fans (like me!) of Kristen Bailey should appreciate all of the characters from her other books that we get to catch up with. Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC!

Hot to Go by Kristen Bailey is an absolute delight. This book definitely is a romantic comedy as it has sizzling romance and many laugh out loud moments.
When French teacher, Susie Callaghan, has a major romantic breakup and escapes to Mallorca with her cousins for a 40th birthday celebration, she does not expect to find romance with Carlos. However, when she is back in London to start at her new school, she is shocked to find that Carlos is actually Charles, the new Spanish teacher. And, since she was posing as a French tourist (the circumstances of their initial meeting make the false identities seem legit), Charles is equally shocked.
I had read a similar description of the novel by the publisher, and it appealed to me. However, if you are a fan of romantic fiction, you may think you know how the story will play out. But, this well written novel surprised me by being sexy and lighthearted without contrived misunderstandings that go on too long.
My favorite scenes included the banter between the two language instructors and the hilarious interaction among Susie and her cousins.

You need this book for the pool or beach! It was so fun and I absolutely loved the characters and the storyline. Such a fun story!

Sun, sangria… and a surprise staffroom reunion? ☀️📚
What happens in Mallorca definitely doesn’t stay in Mallorca in this spicy, sun-soaked romcom packed with chaos, chemistry, and second chances.
Suzie Callaghan’s life implodes when she catches her husband in the ultimate betrayal. Heartbroken and newly separated, she jets off to Mallorca with her cousins in search of distraction, sunshine, and sangria. What she doesn’t expect? A steamy holiday fling with a stranger who rescues her mid-skinny dip. Their chemistry is instant… until she returns home and finds out he’s not Carlos at all—he’s Charlie, her new co-worker and the school’s Spanish teacher. Awkward.
From accidental nudity to faculty meetings with a man she’s already seen naked, Hot To Go is a splash of light-hearted fun. Kristen Bailey blends familiar romcom tropes with British humour, a quirky cast, and more than a few eyebrow-raising scenes. It's a light-hearted, low-stakes summer romance that's more about fun than depth, which is exactly what I was looking for. While the heat level might be a bit much for some readers (think 3 chilies 🌶️🌶️🌶️), it ticks the boxes for an easy, escapist summer read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A light, cheeky read with plenty of summer vibes. Recommended for readers who love messy heroines, racy escapades, and second-chance spice.

such a funny and feel good type of summer book! totally loved this one from start to finish!!! absolutely would recommend!

If you are looking for a fast-paced, light-hearted romance to ease yourself back into reading, this book is a perfect choice. It delivers plenty of charming romantic comedy moments without diving into anything too steamy, making it an easy, breezy read. The story moves quickly, keeping you entertained from start to finish, and the humor adds just the right touch of fun. The chemistry between Suzie and Charlie shines through their wonderful, hilarious banter, making their interactions truly entertaining. It’s the kind of book that makes you smile and chuckle, perfect for a cozy afternoon or a quick escape from everyday stress.
Overall, this book is a charming read that will have you turning pages quickly, and enjoying every moment of the characters’ amusing journey. Great for anyone who loves light romance with a strong dose of humor!

Book Review: Hot to Go by Kristen Bailey
. Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my advanced reader copy.
Let me just say: Kristen Bailey knows how to make a rom-com pop. Hot to Go had me laughing out loud on page one and unexpectedly emotional by page fifty. It’s not just funny—it’s sharp, fresh, and full of heart. The story centers on a fiery, full-of-life protagonist navigating family chaos, messy love, and personal reinvention, all set against the backdrop of a holiday season that’s anything but peaceful. Bailey doesn’t do cookie-cutter characters. These people feel real—flawed, funny, and painfully relatable.
What I loved most was the banter. Every conversation crackled with wit, and even when the jokes came fast, they never undercut the emotional moments. Kristen Bailey strikes this perfect tone: cheeky, but grounded. You can feel the layers underneath the laughter—grief, loneliness, second chances. There’s depth to this rom-com, and that’s what makes it hit harder than most.
Yes, some plot beats were a bit predictable—you can guess the romantic arc pretty early—but honestly, that didn’t matter. I wasn’t reading for twists. I was reading because I cared about these characters and wanted to see them win. The pacing lagged just slightly in the middle, but it picked back up quickly, and by the final chapters, I was racing to the end, grinning like an idiot.
If you’re looking for something light but not shallow, warm but not sugary, this book delivers. Kristen Bailey is now on my must-read list, and Hot to Go is the kind of comfort read I’ll come back to when I need to feel good again.
