Thank you to Hunter Snow, Tellwell Talent, and Netgalley for the ARC. My review is voluntary, and the opinions are my own.
I liked the premise of this book. The rock chick and the true country guy. I loved the family aspects of the story. I felt the insults and pranks went on too long. The adorable twins made the story better. I did not like the sarcastic comments in the first chapter. One aimed at those with Celiac disease. The other is making fun of those with Diabetes. When members of your family are affected by these diseases it's hard to laugh about them!

If you love Blake Shelton and Gwen Stafani, you'll love this book. It 100% gave me the TV Series, Nashville, vibes.
Jamie Keaton is a rockstar who comes across as a diva with her penchant for top-shelf vodka, glamorous on-and-off relationship with hollywood heartthrob, and ambition to succeed. Layton Langley is the complete opposite, leaving behind his party days and drama when his ex abandons him to raise their twin daughters alone.
When Jamie and Clayton write a song together, their worlds are forced to sync up because the song catapults them into the spotlight. Soon, their label forces them on tour together, the accidental co-writing righting a wrong when Clayton didn't let Jamie open for him in the past. They pull pranks, argue, and continue to deny what's growing between them, even when his daughters join them and melt Jamie's barriers until the rocker is living a country song herself.
This was a refreshing read. Beyond the romance--and there is plenty!--the MC's help show each other that their side of the industry isn't all bad. That maybe even when there are clear lines between their chosen genres of music, their songs are better when melded together. And people love it!
Slow burn, found family, self-discovery, rockstar romance, enemies to lovers... There are so many tropes that I have a guilty pleasure enjoying, I simply couldn't put this down. The refreshing 4-Star read is fast-paced and heartfelt, and shows us that relationships are meant to bring out your very best.
Thank you @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was really fun. I enjoyed the banter between Jamie and Clayton and watching their relationship evolve. I thought it was fun to have the story follow them on a tour and the pranks that they cooked up along the way.
It was a fun and easy read.

Firstly, thank you NetGalley for the arc copy of this book.
Reality tv winner Jamie wants to create rock music, so the last thing she expects is to end up on tour with country music star Clayton.
I really wanted to love this book, the blurb sounded like it was going to be a story that I would devour but I found the story slow. Some of the side stories could have been developed, but they felt rushed and slightly unnecessary.
It felt like Jamie’s character was immature and her reactions to various situations seemed over the top and unnecessary. Maybe they were due to her childhood that was alluded to but not really explained. It made her an unlikeable character for me.
I struggled with the amount of smirking - it felt like every time one of the characters was described they had a smirk on their face and it got a little repetitive and annoying.
I enjoyed the side storyline of Ruth and Nolan and I liked Clayton’s character.
I also liked all the references to other music/artists.
It was an enjoyable read overall, I gave it 3 stars.

Gone Country is a very cute story about Jamie, a rock star and Clayton, a country star accidentally write a song together. They have some history and Jamie is not a fan of Clayton or country music.
The forced proximity of the tour and their dogs was fun to read. Jamie's acceptance of country music was also well do. We went on the journey with her. I thought their relationship and personal growth were a bit shallow and everything was very nearly tired up at the end. I love dual POV books, but Clayton's parts were too short and not insightful enough, they seemed unnecessary.
Gone Country is a fun summer read that gives a fun look into making music and touring.
Thank you Netgalley and Hunter Snow for the ARC. This is my honest review of the book.

Loved it!
Lately I've been into musician romances, specially rockstar or countrystar romances. So the fact that this is a Rockstar x Countrystar romance, immediately caught my attention. Add my favorite tropes (grumpy x sunshine, enemies to lovers, forced proximity..) and I just have to read it.
Jamie is a Grumpy/Black cat Rockstar, who hasn't had an easy road to get to where she is now.
Clayton is a Sunshine/Goldenretriever Countrystar and a single dad to the most adorable twin girls.
Jamie and Clayton really formed the perfect pairing for this story and made me eat this book up! The banter was amazing and their chemistry was to die for.
Loved both backstories, the only thing that could've made it better for me is if we got a bit more of a glance into those backstories. This only because specifically Jamie's backstory peeked my interest.
Another thing I loved were the twins (they are the cutest), the side characters and the romance that emerged there as well. The pop culture references brought a huge smile to my face.
So that's a solid 4 star read for me!
Thanks to Netgalley, Tellwell Talent and Hunter Snow for entrusting me with an advanced copy to write an honest review about.

At the beginning I wasn’t sure that I was gonna like it as I wasn’t hooked immediately but I’m glad that I stuck with it as it ended up being a 5 star read.
I didn’t the twist in the story as it caught me off guard and Hunter made me a fan of his work for life. I’m also gonna buy this book in support.
Thank you Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

3 1/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was such a fun ride—full of country vs. rock ’n’ roll energy, golden retriever vs. black cat banter. After an impromptu New Year’s Eve duet and a drunken midnight kiss, Clayton and Jamie suddenly have the fans rooting for them to be more than just labelmates. Both are busy trying to finish their own records, but constant run-ins (and a little “forced” collaboration) keep pulling them back together. When Jamie ends up opening for Clayton on tour, sparks—and plenty of pranks—fly.
I was definitely entertained from start to finish. The chemistry is great, though I’ll admit some of the tour pranks felt a little juvenile, and Clayton’s over-the-top “aw shucks” country-boy charm sometimes pushed believability for a superstar. Still, the opposites-attract dynamic worked, and I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tellwell Talent for the free advanced copy. I’m leaving this review voluntari

I went into this book with high expectations, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. While the premise was interesting, the pacing felt slow and the characters never fully pulled me in. The writing style was serviceable, but I often found myself disconnected from the story, and some plot points felt predictable or underdeveloped.
That said, I can see how other readers might enjoy it—especially those who like quieter, character-driven stories. For me, though, it just wasn’t engaging enough to stick with.

Thanks to NetGalley and Tellwell Talent for an advanced reading copy of Gone Country in exchange of my honest opinion. Gone Country was released on August 12, 2025.
Gone Country was just a fun read. 2 singers who had a misunderstanding several years earlier, accidentally write a song together (they share a manager). When the song becomes a hit, they’re thrown together. However; making music doesn’t just happen. They form a friendship (the witty banter is the best part of this book!!) and then a romance.
The golden retriever, black cat trope works so well in this book!!! Jamie learns to trust, and Clayton shows her that he and his family are there for her. Jamie gets a found family, and although her traumatic childhood makes her think she doesn’t want children, she loves Clayton’s twin girls. Jamie and Clayton really bring the best out of each other, professionally and personally. The forced proximity of the tour, and the pranks they pulled on each other, made me laugh out loud while reading!
If you want a romance with a Nashville flair that shows the good in people, then this book will deliver. I started my first full week of work as an elementary school media specialist/librarian, and this book was a perfect romcom to help me relax after the craziness of each day. I want to read more of the author’s work after reading this!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gone Country is everything I want in a romance—smart, funny, slow-burn delicious, and packed with heart. Jamie and Clayton’s enemies-to-lovers dynamic absolutely crackles with tension, and watching their relationship evolve from sharp banter to undeniable chemistry was addictive.
Hunter Snow perfectly captures the clash between country charm and rockstar chaos, weaving in witty dialogue, tender vulnerability, and just the right amount of heat. The supporting cast adds warmth and depth, and the Nashville setting feels alive and authentic.
I couldn’t put it down. If you love forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers sparks, and characters who challenge each other in the best ways, this book is a must-read. Hunter Snow has solidified herself as a standout in romance—Gone Country is pure perfection.

It was an easy read. An enemies to lovers, slow burn. The collision of rock and country was great. The banter and pranks between the two hit ... some of the time. I felt like it needed more. While the slow burn was there, the third act felt rushed and did not provide enough for me. It is a quick read that you can easily make it through in 1-2 settings.

New to me author, Hunter Snow, has become a favorite! I loved this book from start to finish. So much packed into this book but it never felt like too much. Jamie is the rocker we all want to be and Clayton is the man we all want. Their slow burn romance is perfect. The secondary romance of Ruth and Nolan was fun since they fell fast and hard. The banter, the pranks and the sweet moments are what make this a great book.

I loved the description of this book and was ecstatic to receive an ARC. This was my first Hunter Snow book and unfortunately I don't think her writing is for me so this review won't be shared elsewhere.
My biggest challenge was a lot of the dialogue felt forced throughout the book and very choppy which made it a little difficult to get lost in the book, like the conversations just didn't flow in my head like a lot of books. I did like the dual POV and enjoyed hearing about the inner workings of the artists and all of the name drops of others, especially being both a country and a rock fan. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this opportunity.

I loved this book!!! I went in only going by the cover and description of the book!
First book by Hunter Snow and won’t be my last!!Clayton and Jamie are so fun - loved their story. Their chemistry. Their personalities. I loved it all! Super cute read.
Def worth a read 🤠

The premise caught my attention right away, and I was curious to see how the story would unfold. Unfortunately, I chose not to continue reading due to the frequent use of foul language early on. It may taper off later, but I generally take the opening chapters as a good indicator of a book’s overall tone and style. This one just wasn’t the right fit for me, though it may appeal to readers who don’t mind a more unfiltered narrative voice.
Special thanks to NetGalley and Telwell Talent for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I never like to leave a bad review, but an arcs an arc (thanks netgallery) and we've gotta be honest.
I DNF'd this book, it just wasn't enjoyable and unless the character changed everything about themselves I just can't see how that would change.
It read like an unedited fanfiction, the characters were whiney brats, completely unlikable, constant swearing without any purpose, the first chapter introduces so many characters I couldn't keep them straight. I'm sorry to say it as I generally like to give constructive feedback, but I've got nothing with this one.

I hate to DNF a book, that being said I did have to do it to this one. I’m fortunate to be able to read this as ARC reader regardless of my thoughts on this book.
This book reads like it is still in need of polishing and a lot of it. The first chapter sweeps you right into chaos instead of hooking you in like it should. It also doesn’t help that both characters don’t read like complete people. Neither Jaime nor Clayton are introduced as having much personality outside of “music” and “I don’t like the other person”. It also didn’t help that the book being in third person made it hard that really distinguish characters from one another and not feel incomplete or skipped over.
Definitely wanted to keep going but physically couldn’t.

He's a little bit country 🤠, she's a little bit rock 'n' roll 🎸. Okay, actually, Clayton is a lot country and Jamie is all about that rock 'n' roll.
"Gone Country" by Hunter Snow is an enemy-to-lovers, country-meets-rock, light-hearted romance novel with a reverse grumpy x sunshine trope. Jamie Keaton is a fiery rocker with a complicated past and a controlling ex-boyfriend who is also a famous action movie star. When she unexpectedly collaborates with country music star and her overly friendly rival, Clayton Langley, her whole world gets flipped upside down. A rocker at heart, Jamie finds herself at a crossroads when the country music scene and Clayton try to bring her into their world.
What initially drew me into this novel was the music themed premise. As a fan of music, I love reading books that incorporate music heavily into the storyline and this one certainly does that! It felt like a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into writing a song, recording it, and then promoting it in hopes of hitting the top of the charts. And while my husband is more of the hardcore country music fan, I loved that I was still able to recognize many of the songs and artists mentioned throughout. In fact, Clayton kind of reminds me of my cheerful, country music loving husband, while Jamie reminds me a bit of myself and my love of rock music - thanks to growing up with a dad who played the likes of The Beatles, The Zombies and Deep Purple on cassette during car rides. I found it pretty funny throughout the novel when Jamie and Clayton would make references to music from their sides of the world and the other would be completely oblivious of who they were talking about. It's something my husband and I do as well 😅.
I enjoyed how "Gone Country" jumps right into the story and has a good pacing, while still offering some backstory to each character throughout the book. The banter between Jamie and Clayton definitely was fun to read, especially how it evolved as they stopped seeing each other as rivals and it became more flirty. On the surface, these two wouldn't seem to have a connection, but the two really found their footing with each other when they were able to dig deeper and learn more about each other's pasts. Truly an opposites attract type of connection - Clayton being the Southern gentleman, while Jamie was the tough, cynical rocker - there was a sense of balance that worked well with their partnership. If you love a good slow burn romance on top of all the other tropes mentioned, you'll enjoy the progression of Clayton and Jamie's relationship. The spice in this book is pretty minimal. While there is an open door scene, it's quite tame, in my opinion - a 2.5 to a low 3 out of 5 on the spice rating 🌶.
Other notable mentions are the secondary characters, the puppies and the farm and Nashville backdrops. Ruth and Nolan were such a great emotional support to Jamie and Clayton respectively. Plus, their own side story was a nice addition to the story without detracting from the main one. As a dog lover, I loved all the scenes with the puppies, as well as Jamie's rescue, Poppy, and Clayton's yellow lab, Duke 🐕.
Overall, this was a fun and quick read for me. I enjoyed how music-heavy the storyline was, and I could tell the author has a true love for music as well. If you're a fan of country with a sprinkle of rock, you'll definitely appreciate the storyline. I give "Gone Country" a 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️.
A big thank you to NetGalley, Tellwell Publishing and the author, Hunter Snow, for giving me the opportunity to read the eARC before its release.

This is a slow burn enemies to lovers book that is overall sweet. I loved the banter and the prank war but felt like the FMC was a little too mean at times. I would read more by this author.
