Just so so. The hero was a pr1ck, he acted like he was justified in hiding the relationship and shaming the heroine. The heroine was very good at showing off the age gap, and not in a good way. Immature, insecure and just slightly off kilter.

Very so so read you won't miss much

This is a great story of Charlie and Danny and how they overcome her (major) insecurities and his previous playboy lifestyle. It has brothers best friend and office tropes done well. They do have a very push-pull relationship but you can feel for both of them and what keeps them apart for some of it. Danny believes there are too many obstacles in the way but when he is in, he is all in.
This is a re-read for me and I really enjoy this book.

This was a delightful, sexy, mess. Mr. Walker couldn’t hold a boundary to save his life, HR needed to be on speed dial, but I enjoyed every moment. Don’t expect any sense from this and you’ll have a great time.

Unfortunately, "Taming Mr. Walker" just didn’t work for me, though I can see why others might enjoy Rosa Lucas’s smooth and accessible writing style.

My main issue was with the romantic arc, which felt rushed and emotionally unbalanced. I went into this expecting a slower burn or at least some build-up between the characters, but by the 20% mark, they were already physically involved.

The dynamic between the main characters also wasn’t what I personally look for in a romance. The MMC’s dominance sometimes came across as more aggressive than intimate, and both leads often acted less emotionally grounded than their established roles and ages. Add on to that OW+OM drama; It made it difficult for me to really root for them as a couple.

Additionally, some of the plot choices pulled me out of the story—like the forced public singing scenes, the FMC’s constant drinking and vomiting, and a chaotic family dinner (featuring a taxidermy mouse) that felt more jarring than endearing. I found myself feeling disconnected and ultimately chose to stop at 63%. (Honeslty, I tried...)

That said, I want to sincerely thank NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, Page & Vine, and the author for the ARC. While this one wasn’t the right fit for me, I always appreciate the opportunity to read and review early.

1/5– Not the romance I was hoping for

Thank you to @netgalley @rosalucasauthor and publishers for the ARC.

This book is the first in the #LondonMister series. Very easy reading but the latter half of the book could have been better and there could have been more depth to the characters. It came across as a bit all over the place at times and a bit rushed.
The main female character is extremely immature for her age (28) and comes across as quite bratty and petulant at times. There are only so many times you want to read about her drinking or being drunk, or vomiting!
I was glad when the book ended to be honest.

Okay my friends, let’s review a few tropes here because this one hits some of my favorites:
-brothers forbidden best friend
-age gap romance
-workplace romance
-grumpy boss

It’s safe to say there’s something for everyone in Danny and Charlie’s love story. I devoured this book in about 12 hours and I’m not mad about it at all. Danny is your stereotypical dreamy CEO and Charlie is the sister of his best friend, aka she’s completely off limits to Danny and always has been.

The storyline here isn’t too deep. It’s just a really fun, spicy, on the surface read to turn off your brain for a while. There are certainly a few moments when Charlie’s character is a bit cringe. Like when she’s always talking about her obsession with eating to the point of having terrible bloating and gas. Yeah, could have left that out. It was also mildly annoying that she was always second guessing Danny’s intentions. If I were Danny, I would have seen that as a huge red flag, but to each their own. But on the surface, I found this book to be the perfect distraction during a stressful week. I’m excited to see who book 2 revolves around so I’m going to keep my eye out for Rosa’s next book in this series!

Once I picked up this book I could not put it down and binged it all in one sitting! It had a couple of my favourite tropes, enemies to lovers and an age gap, and the bonus being a book set in Britain which made it much more relatable for me as compared to the usual USA based romances.

I connected with Charlie quite a bit in how insecure and unsure she could be about whether Danny was really into her. I believe we’ve have all felt this way at some point in life! Although I feel that’s more of a feeling you have when you’re in your early twenties, not really once you’re 28.

This was still a cute and entertaining read for me, and I will be picking up the next book in the London Mister series, Resisting Mr Kane.

Thank you to Rosa Lucas and her publisher for this ARC on NetGalley!

Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and Page & Vine for an ARC of this book.

Unfortunately, this book was disappointing to me. I felt that there was a lack of depth to the characters and relied entirely on the tropes they were intended to fulfill - forbidden younger sister, brooding business tycoon, etc. Erotica *can* be well written, but this was not an example of that skill.

The spicy scenes were written well enough, but I had a difficult time connecting with the FMC as most of the personality traits that *were* described seemed annoying and immature to me. However, perhaps this is not surprising due to the yet another trope of the age gap.

I do not plan to read another book in this series.

I enjoyed this book a lot, it was a nice light and easy read to me. There were some few parts where Charlie annoyed me when she immediately thought she was nothing to Danny just because he was merely talking to another woman. I loved that he kept reassuring her no matter what though. Love Danny he’s so sweet and a billionaire with a B. I love that he took her somewhere he’s never brought anyone else it’s so special. I also love that Charlie was able to get her music out there and she also got the job she wanted! Overall I loved this a lot but personally it just didn’t make me as excited as I would be with other books I’ve rated a 4 star to I’m giving it a 3.5 overall..

When I first started Taming Mr. Walker, I was convinced it was going to be a 5‑star read. The tension? Off the charts. The sexual chemistry? Unreal. I was absolutely hooked on both the story and the development of the relationship.

But then things took a turn. Charlie’s insecurity quickly went from relatable to overwhelming. It’s one thing to have doubts, it’s another to lash out constantly, and she did it a lot in the early stages of the relationship. Instead of pulling me deeper into the story, it started to push me out of it and giving me the ick toward Charlie.

The last 20% felt especially chaotic. The miscommunication trope took over, the pacing was rushed, and the reunion didn’t land the way I hoped. On top of that, Tristan and Danny’s sudden reconciliation, like everything was instantly forgiven. Considering how angry Tristan was? it felt too convenient and left me unsatisfied.

I also noticed a few moments early on where the roommates’ dialogue came across as fatphobic, which was unnecessary. And the “try everything once” subplot? It was introduced with potential but ended up feeling almost like an afterthought.

Overall, this book had incredible potential with insane sexual tension, but the execution in the second half really brought it down for me.

This wasn't enemies to lovers, it was lovers to lactose intolerant e
But seriously, why was the FMC so gassy??? Like every other chapter I was holding my breath. AND I DONT NEED TO KNOW THE DETAILS OF DIFFERENT FARTS!
It had the setup of everything I usually love, but every time Danny Walker growled, all I could hear was that Spongebob audio: "It growled at me (®." I couldn't take him seriously.
The dialogue sometimes gave me secondhand embarrassment, like I wanted to look away and pretend I didn't see it. The last 25%? Yeah, it lost me. It got a little too dramatic in a way that didn't land for me.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Pre read: Brother's best friend, workplace romance, age gap AND he's rich??? I'm sat. I opened the ARC so fast I think I pulled a muscle.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of Taming Mr. Walker in exchange for my honest review!

This book was such a fun, fiery surprise! I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but I quickly found myself hooked on the tension, sass, and undeniable chemistry between the characters. Mr. Walker is exactly the kind of grumpy, broody man you want to see get knocked off his game—and the heroine? She absolutely understood the assignment.

Their banter had me smiling constantly, and the push-pull between them was so well done. Rosa Lucas delivered the classic grumpy x sunshine trope with a fresh spark and a slightly messy (in the best way) emotional core. There were some laugh-out-loud moments, some swoony ones, and definitely a few scenes where I had to stop and just appreciate the steam level.

While the pacing lagged slightly in the middle, the payoff was so satisfying and the dynamic between the characters kept me engaged the entire time.

If you’re into workplace tension, forced proximity, and love watching the walls slowly crumble around a guarded heart—this one is for you!

𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡:A glass of red wine.
𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥:🌶️🌶️ Medium – enough steam to keep things interesting, but it’s all about the emotional connection.
𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧: 🍂 Early autumn – a little stormy, a little sweet, perfect for when you want something heartfelt.
𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝: YES – especially if you love a slow-burn romance with plenty of angst and heart.

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞:
•Grumpy x sunshine romance done right
•Small-town charm with messy, real characters
•Second chances at love (and life)
•Swoon-worthy banter with just enough tension to make you yell “kiss already!”
•Stories with heartfelt, emotional arcs alongside romance

𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
I read this book as an ebook and LOVED it so much that I’m already desperate to collect the physical copy and I need the next two books in this series yesterday.

Mr. Walker is the ultimate grump with a hidden soft side, and watching him slowly unravel with the heroine was chef’s kiss. Rosa Lucas gave us a romance that’s both slow-burning and so satisfying the kind of story where every little look and moment feels earned.

The characters felt real, with flaws, struggles, and personalities that leap off the page. The emotional beats were spot on I was rooting for them through every argument, every smirk, every unexpected sweet moment. The romance never felt rushed, and when the tension finally breaks? Perfection.

This is the kind of book that leaves you smiling at the last page, already missing the characters like they’re old friends. If you love grumpy heroes, sunshine heroines, and heartfelt slow-burn romance, Taming Mr. Walker is absolutely a must-read.

Taming Mr. walker is a fast enemies to lovers romance. I could not put it down. This is book 1 in the series.

Taming Mr. Walker was a very fast based book loaded with spice. While I enjoy a spicy book sometimes you just want a bit more plot mixed in.

This is an age gap, best friend's sister romance. Danny is a high profile CEO and Charlie is just IT support. They have known each other forever and even as Charlie was throwing herself at him in college he set a firm boundary between then until he couldn't anymore.

There were def up and downs and I would have liked Charlie to act a bit more mature than she did but at the same time she's young and interested in an older man who has women swooning over him constantly.

Any person with insecurities will understand the thought process of Charlie and the constant back and forth with her emotions.

I will say the last 15% of the book felt rush like the author just wanted to be done with it.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

I loved this book! Highly entertaining and perfect for a holiday read by the pool. I couldn’t put it down. There’s just something about forbidden love that makes for a perfect love story. If you like a good romance, I’d highly recommend this one!
I don’t think I’ll be able to forget about Danny Walker for a long time! ♥️

The first book in the London Misters series.

This has a lot of tropes - age gap, forbidden love, brother's best friend, etc. Charlie's company is bought out by her brother's best friend - they have a past and she wants a future, too. Kind of spicy, kind of lame - the characters aren't entirely enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

Brother’s best friend and CEO. A double whammy of forbidden love.
The writing was good. The characters had decent chemistry, but I’d say neither of them acted their ages. Also way too much mention of vomit in one story, kinda took the edge off the heat.
