Do you love cowboy romance but want it to be fantasy coded? In this book the cowboys ride dragons and look after Armor plated, fire breathing cattle.
I loved that fantasy was interwoven through this whole story which gave it that extra element.
This is a gorgeous cosy romance with found family at its heart. The love story between Aevrin and Cassia is sweet and beleive able and I hope there will be more books in this series

🐉💘 you had me at dragon-riding cowboy lol. The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge serves up the perfect blend of fantasy charm and western heat. Aevrin is the gruff, brooding cowboy of dreams who just happens to ride a dragon and Cassia? A stubborn, skilled cook on the run with secrets simmering under the surface. Their chemistry is cozy, spicy, and absolutely addictive. Between shared chores, rain-soaked tension, and dragon-fueled rescues, this book gave me everything I didn’t know I needed in a romantasy. Yeehaw and take my heart. 🐎🔥 comes out this month!!

I wasn’t too sure going into this what to expect, as I generally don’t have any interest in cowboys or Western-styled worlds, but the dragon element was just too tempting and I had to see what was going on! The dragons weren’t really in any way pivotal to this story, and could easily have been regular horses, but they made for fun flavouring (actually this is my feeling about the world as a whole; that’s a heck of a lot of worldbuilding to do for a few minor elements that barely affect the story. Perhaps there are more books planned that might make more use of the really interesting world??). The romance itself is the main focus and it’s super cute - a practical woman and a sweet himbo rancher who seem instantly made for each other. The characters definitely read younger than the book sets them at; Aevrin especially felt VERY young for his age, more like a sheltered 19 year old farmboy than the supposedly responsible 26 year old rancher he was supposed to be - this didn’t put me off but just wasn’t what I was expecting. The stakes are incredibly low - this is just a cute cosy time with an almost sugary-wholesome plot. I will say that the writing could really do with a polish (my copy editor fingers were twitching at all those uncapitalised “miss Cassia”s and that wasn’t all, but for a sweet little comfort read, this hit the spot.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and would like to thank the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to provide an honest review.
Save a horse, ride a cowboy (but, make it one with a dragon!).
If you're looking for a high-stakes, edge of your seat fantasy adventure, this may not be the one for you. However, if you're looking to relax with a sweet, wholesome love story sprinkled with magic, then welcome to The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge.
I have never been one to gravitate towards anything with western vibes, even to the point of actively avoiding it, so I was quite surprised when I fell in love with the story. We follow Cassia on her healing journey after outlaws severely beat and abandon her in the desert. She's found by Aevrin, a kind rancher who brings her to safety. He quickly becomes much more than just her rescuer as he and his family take Cassia in, helping her heal wounds that run deeper than the surface.
Some things that made this extra enjoyable for me:
⭐ Found Family: The family Cassia discovers here feels incredibly real. The characters are well-developed and fit together perfectly. This book excels at showing how much these characters care for each other, rather than simply telling the reader. I could truly feel the love radiating off the pages.
⭐ The vibes - The western atmosphere was absolutely on point. From the vivid scenery to the authentic dialogue and culture, I felt completely immersed in their world.
⭐ Magic and creatures - The romance is center stage in this book with the magic taking on more of a supporting role. While it may not be the focus, I absolutely loved the subtle magical elements we were given, like the magical vine thorns used as IVs at the healers' center, or magical plants powering everyday items like iceboxes. The variety of magical creatures was also fantastic, including dragons, hydras, berzerker cows, and my personal favorite: mock-mice, who can transform into household objects to avoid being cleared out. So cute!
I would highly recommend this to any one who enjoys romance with a western flair, or to any one who's looking for a relaxing, wholesome read in-between stories of impending war and oppression. I will definitely be adding more of this author's work to my TBR!

The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge *Arc Review*
I LOVED this book! I am always choosing between reading another cowboy romance and a romantasy and this book made it so I didn't have to choose.
Tropes:
🏡Small Town
👪Found Family
🐉Bonding Dragons
Plot: After being found on the brink of death, Cassia finds herself on a ranch with some pretty interesting livestock. Not to mention the ranchers ride dragons instead of horses. Cassia has to resist falling for the sweet cowboy who saved her life.
My Thoughts: There was so much I loved about this book it is hard to list them all. The perfect blend of cowboy and fantasy romance, the dragons, the fire breathing cows, the action, and most of all the romance between the FMC and MMC. Aevrin was such a golden retriever and only wanted the best for Cassia no matter if it broke his heart. He treated her with such care and took the time to step into Cassia’s shoes. I also enjoyed the nosy townspeople you normally get in cowboy romances. I WANT MORE BOOKS THAT FOLLOW AEVRIN’S SIBLINGS! I think you will enjoy this book no matter if you are strictly a cowboy or fantasy romance reader because it gives you the best of both worlds

2 of my favourite types of books meet in one
Dragons and cowboys!!
The romance was so cute and honestly had me giggling and kicking my feet at parts.
I wish we did get to learn a little more about the magic system in the book.

Have I just found my niche? Is it cowboy romantasy? Well, if The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge is any testament to the rest of this sub-genre then the answer is a resounding YES. This book merges outlaws, the old wild west, magic and dragons into a really great story that is full of heart and the perfect amount of yearning.
Our FMC is the perfect fish-out-of-water, allowing us entry into this new world of dragon riding cattle farmers. After being left for dead by the outlaws her brother has fallen in with, she is rescued by our MMC - a cinnamon roll with an absolute heart of gold. The majority of the story takes place within the homestead she finds herself on as she looks to try to payback the family for their generosity.
While there are dark elements to the plot, I would consider this as a cozy romantasy. Aevrin is an absolute gentleman, and he falls first and HARD. There is just the right amount of spice (two open door scenes), and the dynamic between Aevrin and Cassia is honestly nothing short of absolutely sweet. If you like the idea of old-school gentlemen cowboys then this is definitely the book for you. I really hope this is the start of a series of interconnected standalones - I'd love to see more of the Riveker family and see all the men get their HEAs.

Thank you to NetGally and the author/publisher for an eArc of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I requested this book based solely on the premise and not having read any of the authors other works and what a pleasant surprise I really loved this. A cowboy romance but make it fantasy is now my new favorite thing. It has the standard cowboy romance elements but the fantasy world is actually pretty well done. The cowboys ride dragons and the dragons are sassy! Neither element really overpowers the other making the world feel really solid.
The romance in this book is actually really sweet. Aevrin is a little bit mamas boy and really respectful of Cassia after he rescues her near his property. They teach each other a little something about being their best selves. There is a little bit of insta-attraction but it’s pretty well handled.
This book is fairly short and pretty easy to read.
I’m not sure if this is planning to be a series but I would certainly read more books in this world, there is a few single brothers and a widowed dad we can read about!

I had a feeling that I was going to love this book, and I'm so glad I was right! I liked all of the characters, and the romance between the FMC and the MMC was nice, although there was a lot of will they/won't they for a large portion of the book. I do wish there had been more interactions with the dragons, as they were definitely a big draw for me to read this. I hope the author continues to write more within this universe, because I would love to read it.

🐉 Dragons, cowboys, and a messy kitchen? Sign me up. 🤠
I was drawn to The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge by the promise of a cosy romantasy — and it delivered! It’s got all the ingredients: a runaway cook with a soft heart, a grumpy dragon-riding rancher with zero kitchen skills, and of course… dragons. 🐲✨
Cassia and Aevrin's story is gentle and slow-burning, filled with rainy-day chores, shared meals, and that “we’re totally not catching feelings” tension. Think domestic fantasy with a hint of spice — low stakes, lots of heart.
That said, I did find the worldbuilding a little fast-paced at the start. I would've loved a bit more breathing room in the first chapter to ease into the setting — but that’s probably just my cosy-fantasy brain talking! Once things settled, the charm definitely kicked in. 🏡🌾
💫 Overall: This was a lovely in-between read. If you're after a palette cleanser with dragons, warmth, and a soft romance arc, this could be the comfort book you're looking for.
3 ⭐ — charming, magical, and quietly romantic.
And yes, the cover is gorgeous. 😍

This was such a sweet love story. The MMC is so gentle and soft with the FMC. The story feels cozy but there is drama and plot, the FMC does go through a lot but the MMC and his family never make her life harder which I loved. The world is so cool, I really hope there's more books in this world! I did want a little bit more from the ending and did kind of wish for slightly older characters (MMC 25) but overall perfect cozy western fantasy romance read. It's soft, it's sweet, it's adventurous, it's funny, it's heartwarming, and it's definitly worth reading.

The premise of this book sounded so fun and unique to me and it totally delivered! I had a great time! We get a small town cozy cowboy romance but with dragons and magic and fantasy sprinkled in. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted! Chefs kiss!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC.
I had so much fun with this book. I love a good cowboy romance and this gave me everything I want from a cowboy romance with a hint of magic sprinkled in.
I loved the way the genres were blended, I think it got just the right balance of romance with just a hint of fantasy. Don't get me wrong I love more fantasy heavy books too, but this is what I was expecting based on the description, so I was pleased that it delivered on it's promise.
I loved the dual POV, both main characters were lovable and they were very cute together. I also loved Kaziec a lot.

This was a such a fun read. I was sold when I read cowboys and dragons in the blurb, and I was not disappointed. The cover is also lovely and contains so many fun Easter eggs for the story. The dragons are bonded to the cowboys and serve as steeds instead of horses because they herd fire breathing cattle. The concept and environment were described in rich, immersive detail. The cozy vibes come from the isolated ranch locale with majestic views, loving family dynamics, and slow, simple living.
However, explanation as to the larger geopolitical setting was lacking. There was some discussion about different regions and territories because the MCs are from different backgrounds, but it was mostly just explained with the names of cities and territories without further information about how they all fit together. There was also reference to an army fighting a supernatural foe without much more information. Those parts were confusing and left me wanting to know more.
The romance starts when the MMC, Aevrin, rescues the FMC, Cassia, after she was beaten (off page) and left for dead by outlaws. It grows when Cassia goes to live with Aevrin and his family where she becomes the paid cook and housekeeper for their ranch. Smart girl to prefer domestic work rather than work with fire breathing animals. Aevrin was very respectful of Cassia’s situation in which she was his de facto employee so he was hesitant to pursue a romantic relationship. Instead, they grew as flirty friends until Cassia made the first move. Both characters were so sweet to each other until things get spicy which was also very fun.
There were some word choices during the spicy scenes that were unfortunate, and there was a lot of insecurity afterwards that I did not enjoy. It’s unclear whether these two had romantic relationships in the past though it’s hinted that they did not. Clarity on that issue would have better explained the insecurities.
The other members of Aevrin’s family provided comic relief while also being welcoming to Cassia and encouraging of her growing relationship with Aevrin. Cassia, who was an orphan, is skeptical at first but quickly finds her place among them. She spends most of the book hiding her true family situation and the perpetrators of her assault. When that information is finally revealed, Aevrin’s family protects her like one of their own resulting in a heartwarming conclusion all around and a HEA.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read for me which I devoured in one day. There were some jarring word choices and grammatical errors (for example, “miss” should be capitalized in “miss Cassia” because it’s a title) that took me out of the story. But it was quick to pull me back in. This was such a great twist on both westerns and romantasy combining the best elements of both.
The biggest question though is will we see more of Aevrin’s family and their romantic journeys?!? He’s got a lot of lovable, eligible brothers (and sister and father and grandma(?)).
Thanks to Juliette Caruso, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC, which allowed me to read the book and voluntarily provide an unbiased review.

The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge is a sort of cozy, cowboy romantasy where the ranchers ride dragons instead of horses. So "Save a dragon, ride a rancher", I guess!
It was a sweet story and I definitely binged it! I love a dual POV and seeing it from both Cassia and Aevrin's POV definitely amped up the pining. Cassia kept the secret of how she ended up at the ranch from Aevrin, but generally the miscommunication was kept to a minimum which I appreciated. The romance was sweet and there were a few spicy scenes in there!
Apart from the bonded dragons, the magic in the world was pretty understated. If there's going to be more books in this world, I'd love to see more about the fantasy-side of the world. I love a fantasy, Wild West-esque world so more stories set in the world would be great!
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley but this is my voluntary and honest review.

Dragons, fire breathing cows and cowboys. Yes please.
Not really into romantasy but I couldn't let but feel intrigued by the premise of this one and it didn't disappoint. And I'm glad I took the chance.
Some of the words were a little confusing to follow at first but it didn't take long to get past that.
Not only was the POV from both main characters was good the engagement and interactions with the other characters was appreciated. It made it easy to anticipate that even those this is book is a standalone it could easily continued with other story lines.
A four star read. In all honestly only because some words took a bit to get accustomed to in retrospect to what they represented.
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this advanced copy to read.
