Thank you to NetGally and the author/publisher for an eArc of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I requested this book based solely on the premise and not having read any of the authors other works and what a pleasant surprise I really loved this. A cowboy romance but make it fantasy is now my new favorite thing. It has the standard cowboy romance elements but the fantasy world is actually pretty well done. The cowboys ride dragons and the dragons are sassy! Neither element really overpowers the other making the world feel really solid.

The romance in this book is actually really sweet. Aevrin is a little bit mamas boy and really respectful of Cassia after he rescues her near his property. They teach each other a little something about being their best selves. There is a little bit of insta-attraction but it’s pretty well handled.

This book is fairly short and pretty easy to read.

I’m not sure if this is planning to be a series but I would certainly read more books in this world, there is a few single brothers and a widowed dad we can read about!

I had a feeling that I was going to love this book, and I'm so glad I was right! I liked all of the characters, and the romance between the FMC and the MMC was nice, although there was a lot of will they/won't they for a large portion of the book. I do wish there had been more interactions with the dragons, as they were definitely a big draw for me to read this. I hope the author continues to write more within this universe, because I would love to read it.

🐉 Dragons, cowboys, and a messy kitchen? Sign me up. 🤠

I was drawn to The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge by the promise of a cosy romantasy — and it delivered! It’s got all the ingredients: a runaway cook with a soft heart, a grumpy dragon-riding rancher with zero kitchen skills, and of course… dragons. 🐲✨

Cassia and Aevrin's story is gentle and slow-burning, filled with rainy-day chores, shared meals, and that “we’re totally not catching feelings” tension. Think domestic fantasy with a hint of spice — low stakes, lots of heart.

That said, I did find the worldbuilding a little fast-paced at the start. I would've loved a bit more breathing room in the first chapter to ease into the setting — but that’s probably just my cosy-fantasy brain talking! Once things settled, the charm definitely kicked in. 🏡🌾

💫 Overall: This was a lovely in-between read. If you're after a palette cleanser with dragons, warmth, and a soft romance arc, this could be the comfort book you're looking for.

3 ⭐ — charming, magical, and quietly romantic.

And yes, the cover is gorgeous. 😍

This was such a sweet love story. The MMC is so gentle and soft with the FMC. The story feels cozy but there is drama and plot, the FMC does go through a lot but the MMC and his family never make her life harder which I loved. The world is so cool, I really hope there's more books in this world! I did want a little bit more from the ending and did kind of wish for slightly older characters (MMC 25) but overall perfect cozy western fantasy romance read. It's soft, it's sweet, it's adventurous, it's funny, it's heartwarming, and it's definitly worth reading.

The premise of this book sounded so fun and unique to me and it totally delivered! I had a great time! We get a small town cozy cowboy romance but with dragons and magic and fantasy sprinkled in. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted! Chefs kiss!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC.

I had so much fun with this book. I love a good cowboy romance and this gave me everything I want from a cowboy romance with a hint of magic sprinkled in.

I loved the way the genres were blended, I think it got just the right balance of romance with just a hint of fantasy. Don't get me wrong I love more fantasy heavy books too, but this is what I was expecting based on the description, so I was pleased that it delivered on it's promise.

I loved the dual POV, both main characters were lovable and they were very cute together. I also loved Kaziec a lot.

This was a such a fun read. I was sold when I read cowboys and dragons in the blurb, and I was not disappointed. The cover is also lovely and contains so many fun Easter eggs for the story. The dragons are bonded to the cowboys and serve as steeds instead of horses because they herd fire breathing cattle. The concept and environment were described in rich, immersive detail. The cozy vibes come from the isolated ranch locale with majestic views, loving family dynamics, and slow, simple living.

However, explanation as to the larger geopolitical setting was lacking. There was some discussion about different regions and territories because the MCs are from different backgrounds, but it was mostly just explained with the names of cities and territories without further information about how they all fit together. There was also reference to an army fighting a supernatural foe without much more information. Those parts were confusing and left me wanting to know more.

The romance starts when the MMC, Aevrin, rescues the FMC, Cassia, after she was beaten (off page) and left for dead by outlaws. It grows when Cassia goes to live with Aevrin and his family where she becomes the paid cook and housekeeper for their ranch. Smart girl to prefer domestic work rather than work with fire breathing animals. Aevrin was very respectful of Cassia’s situation in which she was his de facto employee so he was hesitant to pursue a romantic relationship. Instead, they grew as flirty friends until Cassia made the first move. Both characters were so sweet to each other until things get spicy which was also very fun.

There were some word choices during the spicy scenes that were unfortunate, and there was a lot of insecurity afterwards that I did not enjoy. It’s unclear whether these two had romantic relationships in the past though it’s hinted that they did not. Clarity on that issue would have better explained the insecurities.

The other members of Aevrin’s family provided comic relief while also being welcoming to Cassia and encouraging of her growing relationship with Aevrin. Cassia, who was an orphan, is skeptical at first but quickly finds her place among them. She spends most of the book hiding her true family situation and the perpetrators of her assault. When that information is finally revealed, Aevrin’s family protects her like one of their own resulting in a heartwarming conclusion all around and a HEA.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read for me which I devoured in one day. There were some jarring word choices and grammatical errors (for example, “miss” should be capitalized in “miss Cassia” because it’s a title) that took me out of the story. But it was quick to pull me back in. This was such a great twist on both westerns and romantasy combining the best elements of both.

The biggest question though is will we see more of Aevrin’s family and their romantic journeys?!? He’s got a lot of lovable, eligible brothers (and sister and father and grandma(?)).

The Dragon Ranch of Dawn Ridge is a sort of cozy, cowboy romantasy where the ranchers ride dragons instead of horses. So "Save a dragon, ride a rancher", I guess!

It was a sweet story and I definitely binged it! I love a dual POV and seeing it from both Cassia and Aevrin's POV definitely amped up the pining. Cassia kept the secret of how she ended up at the ranch from Aevrin, but generally the miscommunication was kept to a minimum which I appreciated. The romance was sweet and there were a few spicy scenes in there!

Apart from the bonded dragons, the magic in the world was pretty understated. If there's going to be more books in this world, I'd love to see more about the fantasy-side of the world. I love a fantasy, Wild West-esque world so more stories set in the world would be great!

Dragons, fire breathing cows and cowboys. Yes please.

Not really into romantasy but I couldn't let but feel intrigued by the premise of this one and it didn't disappoint. And I'm glad I took the chance.

Some of the words were a little confusing to follow at first but it didn't take long to get past that.

Not only was the POV from both main characters was good the engagement and interactions with the other characters was appreciated. It made it easy to anticipate that even those this is book is a standalone it could easily continued with other story lines.

A four star read. In all honestly only because some words took a bit to get accustomed to in retrospect to what they represented.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this advanced copy to read.
