I absolutely loved this book. The fmc is so easy to instantly connect with and love, and the mmc is broody enough to make you wonder what's next. I have a total book hangover wanting to know what's next! I recommend this for anyone who loves a good fantasy and / or romantasy.

Tense politics, a clever magic system, and a romance that burns — Jeweller for the Blessed delivers it all. The world’s magic instantly hooked me: the Blessed, tied to crystals called Adamas, can steal emotions from the rest of the populace. It’s a fascinating, unsettling ability that threads through the political tensions and personal stakes.
The story stays centred on Kavios, where worship of one goddess is enforced and the other forbidden, creating a high-stakes backdrop for court intrigue. Against this, the romance blazes — Hart makes for the perfect romantic hero: teasing, confident, deadly with a blade, and full of hidden depths.
I guessed one twist early, but it only made me more eager for its reveal. Not everything is resolved, and the ending left me equal parts satisfied and desperate for book two. A captivating, suspenseful romantic fantasy.

Chosen One? Flirty Romance? Secrets? Cursed? Jeweler to the Blessed has it all.
This book kicks off the Champion of Chaos series—Jillian Witt’s newest romantasy and, she’s one of my favorite authors!
The world-building ? Total dystopian vibes with a magic system that involves a mood ring. I’ve never read anything using mood rings before, and I was instantly intrigued!
It took me a bit to wrap my head around how the magic actually works, but I loved uncovering it piece by piece alongside Ember as she digs into her uncle’s secrets and her own mysterious past.
Now let’s talk romance. It’s slow-burn with a twist.
Hart isn’t just Ember’s bodyguard—he’s charming, flirty, and constantly pushing her buttons. But beneath all that teasing, there’s something he’s not telling her. I had my suspicions... and when the reveal hit, I was still caught off guard.
This series is off to a strong start, and that ending has me counting down to book two.
If you’re into unique magic systems, bodyguard romance, prophecies, curses, and meddling goddesses, this one’s for you!

✨ARC Review✨
Thank you Jillian Witt for sending me This Arc
“You are a single ember, lighting the darkest night, a beacon calling me across kingdoms. I'd find you anywhere, Chaos.”
Jeweler to the Blessed by Jillian Will is a novel that quietly sneaks up on your heart and then refuses to let go. It’s beautifully written, deeply introspective, and emotionally rich—a story that not only captivated me but also lingered long after the final page.
From the very beginning, there's a quiet reverence in the prose—like holding something sacred and fragile in your hands. Jillian Will has crafted a narrative that feels almost like a prayer—delicate, spiritual, and brimming with meaning. The world she paints is vivid yet intimate, with an atmosphere that feels both ancient and timeless.
The protagonist’s journey is not just physical, but spiritual and emotional, and watching it unfold is both heart-wrenching and healing. The theme of craftsmanship—particularly through the metaphor of jewelry-making—is used so brilliantly. It’s not just about shaping metal and stone, but about shaping identity, purpose, and soul. The artistry described in the book reflects a deep sensitivity to beauty and brokenness, and how the two are often entwined.
One of the most powerful aspects of this novel is its exploration of faith—not in a preachy or overbearing way, but in a quiet, contemplative one. It speaks to the sacredness of creation, of calling, and of the seemingly ordinary acts that hold divine significance. There are lines in this book that hit like poetry—soft but sharp truths that leave you breathless.
This isn’t a fast-paced book, and that’s part of its beauty. It asks you to slow down, to reflect, and to sit with its characters and their questions. There were moments I had to pause just to soak in a sentence or consider the emotion behind a single scene.
Jeweler to the Blessed is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves quiet, character-driven stories with emotional depth and spiritual resonance. It’s a rare and precious find—like the very jewels at the heart of its story. A masterpiece in subtlety and grace.

Exciting story with a bit of mystery to keep the pages turning. I did find the motivation for characters not talking to each other a little frustrating. Ends on a cliffhanger

If you want a romantasy with a truly unique magic system, political drama, and banter and tension for days, Jeweler to the Blessed is for you! In Kavios, the king can gift magic via gemmed jewelry to his court, the Blessed. In order to use it, they must steal the emotions of the lower class, keeping them sedated and controlled. Emberline's biggest secret is that the magic does not work on her, so what will she do when she suddenly must work for the king to make jewelry for the Blessed? Will she keep her secret from her Blessed bodyguard, Hart, or will she trust him with the secret and het heart?
I loved the main characters, Emberline and Hart! They had phenomenal chemistry and his nickname for her made me smirk every time he said it. The story was fast paced and filled with reveals and twists about the truth behind the magic system and the history of Kavios and the main characters. The ending left me craving book 2! I love Jillian Witt's writing and can't wait to read more of her books.

Thank you Netgalley & Jullian Witt for allowing me to read this arc for an honest review.

A unique story and overall pretty good.
A tale with battling gods, kings and rebels.
Emberline is the FMC and hides a dangerous secret. She is immune to the magic and she doesn’t know why.
Everyone lies to her to protect her, and she tries to everything she can to protect her loved ones from herself.
She ends up getting into a situation that forces her to be the jeweler for the blessed.
They need rings to be able to use magic.
Kind of like mood rings. Different emotions and the stone glows different colors.
❤️Red for anger -> physical strength
🧡Orange for lust -> granting healing
💛Yellow for happiness. —> eternal youth
💚Green for envy —> the power of persuasion
💙Blue for sadness —> power to calm
💜Voilet for fear -> the power of nightmares
I like that even tho this get explained in chapter 1 or 2, it also consistently get repeated throughout the book so no need to remember all the colors - emotions- powers granted from it..
The magic is based on emotions by touching. (So cover up, no skin exposed for anyone to touch you and it’s dangerous to show emotion.)
The blessed steal emotions from the magic-less population which comes with a heavy cost. She hates the blessed for what they are and the damage they do. But yet she is stuck in a position that leaves her no choice but to work for them…
The MMC is her personal guard assigned by royal family. His life is one big mystery filled with secrets.
The story is focused on surviving a corrupt system, selfish people, rebellion group, people trying to kill you and protecting the people you love while trying to save the population as well.
The things that i didn’t like was, the story only takes place over a timespan of 8-10 days.
It’s just seems like you reading about multiple weeks in her life to then read it’s only been 8 days.
“I wiped away the past eight days of not even knowing”
Other quotes:
* “You are a single ember, lighting the darkest night, a beacon calling me across kingdoms. I’d find you anywhere, Chaos.”
* Fmc: “don’t get any ideas.”
* MMC: “You can’t outlaw ideas. A man can dream.”

this was a fun surprise!! i wasnt expecting to love this as much as i did. it was really different from what ive been reading recently, so it was a fun time!

4.25!
The last 10% was absolutely chaotic in the best way. I know it's an ARC but I need book 2 soon.
I guessed a couple of the twists but was not prepared for them all. The FMC determined to not stay in the box she's been placed in and coerced to stay there. MMC with more secrets and trauma but only ever having eyes for her. How are they going to recover from this? Reluctant allies -> lovers that isn't an easy path to take.

I absolutely adored Jeweler to the Blessed! This book has such a unique magic system and the plot had me at the edge of my seat. While parts were a bit predictable and there is one trope at the end that is not my favorite, I still very much enjoyed how the book developed. The ending was so good and I cannot wait for the next book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Jillian's team for the arc. All thoughts are my own!

In a kingdom where the few take emotions from the many to use against them, it's dangerous to feel anything.
Emberline has been hiding her whole life: hiding her ability to identify the difference between gems, hiding that the Blessed can't take from her, and hiding her emotions as best as she can. However, when her uncle disappears, she must choose how complacent she is going to be to the king's control over everyone.
This story felt darker than the other book I read by Witt, but she did a great job of crafting her world and characters. Even with me figuring out a lot of the hints that she scattered throughout about the twists, I still enjoyed this book quite a bit. It'll be an adventure to find out what happens next.
Note: there is language throughout and one open door scene towards the end. Proceed with caution if you're a more sensitive reader.

5 ⭐ WELL-DESERVED STARS
You know when you open a book “just to take a quick peek” and then find yourself hours later, heart racing and Kindle clutched in your hands? 📖💖 That’s exactly what happened to me with Jeweler to the Blessed by Jillian Witt.
We’re in the perfect realm for anyone who loves adult romantasy, with a touch of unique, intriguing magic. Here we get slow burn, bodyguard romance, that delicious touch-her-and-die energy I look for in every fantasy I read, and a strong, one-of-a-kind heroine.
The story follows Emberline, 💞 forced to take her uncle’s place as the maker of magical jewels 💎 that channel emotions. Only she’s different—magic doesn’t affect her. And in a world where touch itself can steal what you feel, that makes her both priceless and dangerous. At her side (literally, always one step behind) is Hart, her taciturn personal bodyguard 🛡️ who at first seems to hate every breath she takes… yet can’t stay away from her (and definitely not just out of “duty”).
💞 Their chemistry? A masterpiece of tension and slow burn 🔥 It’s a slow build made of glances, gestures, and that kind of closeness that makes your heart pound. The emotional and physical tension throughout the novel is so high that… well, when Ember finally allows Hart to touch her, my heart nearly exploded 🔥.
The romance always stays central, but the action and political intrigue are also brilliantly written. Watching Emberline transform from a woman merely trying to survive into the true heroine of her own story was incredibly satisfying. And Hart? He’s a walking redemption arc ❤️.
💬 But perhaps the thing I loved most of all is the deep message that runs through the entire story: emotions are not a weakness, but a precious treasure that defines us and makes us unique. They should be cherished, respected, and lived without fear. As the author writes in her dedication, “There is Strength in feeling”—and this book proves it on every page.
🎯 The ending? One of those cliffhangers that make you scream. Honestly, I closed the book with a mix of shock and impatience, already counting the days until book #2.
🎨 The cover is absolutely gorgeous—on its own, it’s enough to make you want this book proudly displayed on your shelf.
⚠️ Content warnings: death and illness of family members, power imbalance, and hints at complex consent situations.
In short, What you’ll find:
🛡️ Bodyguard romance
🔥 Slow burn to die for
💎 Unique magic tied to emotions
💥 Political intrigue & plot twists
💘 Touch-her-and-die energy
💬 Strong Message
So if you love romantasy with original magic, perfectly crafted tension, unforgettable characters, and a romance that makes you ache in the best possible way… run and read this book. I can’t wait to dive back into this world in book two. 💎❤️

I love Jillian Witt’s writing! Her characters are so well-developed, and the world-building is rich and atmospheric. I’m leaving this honest review of her romantasy voluntarily.
The magic system here is incredibly unique—it actually gave me Fallen (with Denzel Washington and John Goodman) vibes because of how the Blessed can siphon from others. This series is going to be such a ride! Emberline is a phenomenal main character—strong, calculated, emotionally guarded, yet soft enough to be both loved and hated. She gave me everything I needed in this story. And that slow-burn relationship between Emberline and Hart? Pure gold. Hart is beautifully broken, and his attention to Ember is absolutely swoon-worthy. Beneath all of his moody appeal, he hides a secret that can change the lives of he and Ember.
This book was full of twists and turns—half the time I didn’t know if I was coming or going! Yes, the pacing is slow at times, but trust me, it’s worth every page.
And that ending? My jaw hit the floor! I have so many questions now.
If you love a solid storyline, an intriguing magic system, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers tension, and a surprise guest appearance at the end, this one’s for you.
Jeweler to the Blessed releases August 19, 2025—mark your calendars and GET IT!
Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and Jillian Witt for the ARC of this fantastic book.
I will be impatiently waiting for the second installment. Don't take too long, Jullian!

4.5 ⭐'s rounded up……Emberline is such an interesting and unique character. After her uncle goes missing she steps into his place as the jeweler to the blessed. Emberline is hiding that she is immune to the blessed. Emberline is assigned Hart, her personal bodyguard when she begins to work under the King. She needs a bodyguard because like all good fantasy novels there is a "villian" which in here is called the Feared, those individuals that are fighting against the blessed.
I absolutely loved Hart, I mean I love all MMC's that exhibit "touch her and die" tendencies and Hart has that in spades. This is definitely a slow burn and forced proximity since Hart is assigned to protect her, but the tension is oh so good.
The world building was great and the magic system is so unique as the magic is pulled from the emotions of others. This is a great start for a new series and I cannot wait to see where this goes.
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for the advance copy. All my opinions are my own.

This is the fifth book I have read so far of Jillian’s. Which means I am all caught up on her novels!
This book is a massive departure into a new world that is completely different from her compass points universe. The magic system is completely and utterly different as well.
In a way I feel like I was so intrenched in her previous books that it was hard for me to step out of the way things worked in those books to step into this book.
But don’t mistake me, I mighta been lost but I was happy! 😂
The book itself is based in a land where there is a very distinct caste system- with magic and without
Everyone who is without serves those with and not just serves but are taken from.
The magic is fueled by emotions and those with magic steal it with touch. While sometime it is consensual, the power dynamic at plays calls into question whether it can ever truly be consensual. Most of those with magic just walk around waiting to see someone with magic and touch their skin, stealing their joy, sadness, anger, lust. Most of the non-magical population covers their skin as much as possible as a result.
The worst is their king and his magic that is able to calm the population to keep them from leaving
This book was so interesting and I still have so many questions.
I don’t do spoilers. But good Lord I need people to talk to about this book.

A jeweller with a deadly secret. A broody bodyguard with secrets of his own. And a kingdom built on magic, curses, and lies? Yeah… I was hooked from page one.
Emberline has a secret — one that could get her killed if anyone found out. Sheltered by her parents and uncle, she grew up learning the ancient stories of their goddesses and champions, myths that shaped the kingdoms into what they are today. But when her uncle suddenly disappears, she’s forced to step into his role as the kingdom’s only jeweller — instantly putting a target on her back.
To protect her, the prince assigns Hart, a guard with his own hidden past and a skillset you definitely don’t want to underestimate. As the two work together, they uncover the growing influence of the king’s magic over the kingdom — and stopping the system that has been in placed becomes a dangerous game neither of them can walk away from.
From the very first chapter, this book had me hooked. The magic system — tied to emotions and gemstones, and societal class — was so unique and fascinating. I loved how the myths of the goddesses and champions weren’t just backstory; they shaped the entire political and magical landscape of the present-day kingdom.
The pacing was perfect, balancing mystery, action, and worldbuilding without ever feeling overwhelming. The slow-burn romance between Emberline and Hart was beautifully done — the way their trust built over time, the subtle gestures, and of course, the protective “I will go wherever you go” energy from Hart?
This is easily one of the most promising romantasies I’ve read lately, and I cannot wait to see where the series goes next.
Thanks to @NetGalley and Jillian Witt for the ARC!

4.5 stars, rounded up to 5!
I really really enjoyed Jeweler to the Blessed! Ember and the MMC were really enjoyable characters who were dynamic, unpredictable and determined. In a world where magic is taken by touch, Ember is immune to it. Her uncle disappears and she gets promoted to Jeweler to the Blessed, who are the ones who have magic through the adamas stone.
Ember and the MMC develop a really interesting relationship that has a lot of revelations at the end! I can’t believe we have to wait for book 2!! The MMC is soooo protective, says all the right things, and really cares for Ember, which is always enjoyable to read. They have some really fun and flirty banter back and forth too that made this a super enjoyable read. Ember is strong, determined, skilled and a really well written FMC.
The only thing that was tricky was the amount of information kept from Ember throughout the book. Most of it ends up being explained why but it was kinda frustrating!
I really am excited for book 2 to see where the journey unfolds from here. So many twists and then in the final few chapters!

This review will be posted today on Goodreads!
3.9 stars
The writing felt a little clunky at the start, but once it found its rhythm, I was able to get into it and enjoy it. The “mood ring” style magic system was unique and fascinating, and the plot twists kept me guessing. (Some I saw coming, some I didn’t.) Hart and Ember’s relationship was easily my favorite part! “There is nowhere you can go that I won’t follow, Chaos.” 🥹
Despite the rocky start (and hearing how special Ember is 10 times within the first 15% of the book), this was an enjoyable read that I couldn’t put down. I’ll definitely be picking up the second book!

I think this is a wonderful introduction to a world with such an interesting magic system and characters that help propel the plot. At any given time, I found myself just wanting to learn more and more, and felt I really could not put this down.
I do wish we were trusted more as readers to understand some things without too much explaination. I did find some things were repeated too soon after the initial set up, as well as some parts being implied then explicitly explained as if we weren't trusted to piece it together ourselves. Though as the book went on this happened less and less so this did not interfere with my enjoyment.
I really cannot wait to explore more of this world and find out what happens next!

Very cool storyline!
I enjoyed the magic system, I don't remember reading a book with this sort of system before so I really liked it!
Tiny bit predictable who Ember and Hart actually were but didnt stop me from enjoying the story.
