I love Tilly Tennant books and especially books based in Italy, so this was a nice, fun read! I was definitely in the mood for something light, and this fit the bill!

I really enjoyed reading this book and although an easy read it was a great story . It’s a perfect beach / holiday read and I loved reading about Rome and the attractions there .   Highly recommend.

Tilly Tennant writes a fun, sometimes moving, and comforting story. I always enjoy a book by her and this was not an exception!

I have been in love with Rome ever since I watched Rome Adventure with Troy Donahue with my mom years ago.  I've been fortunate enough to have visited this beautiful city a couple of times myself, so I was excited to read Rome is Where the Heart Is.  The writer does a wonderful job of bringing this city to life.  When Kate's husband leaves her after 20 years, Kate does exactly what I would do in the same situation.  She hops a plane to Rome.  Of course she immediately meets a sexy Italian policeman, and the rest is history!  I enjoyed that the characters were older in this book than the main characters we usually have in romance novels.  I also liked that the story was told with a lot of humor.  What a wonderful start to a new series.  Can't wait for the next installment.

I dnf this book.  I got really bored with it and wanted to move on. Sorry!!

A lovely read. The writing style is light and easy and I quickly became absorbed in Kate's life and adventures.  Kate is a likeable character who you can root for as she builds a new life.

This book has all of that PLUS gelato. Soooooo.....it's pretty much a given that I'm going to LOVE it.

There we meet a colourful cast of characters including the brooding romantic Alessandro, a policeman who steps in to help our heroine when she's had one too many glasses of vino (we've all been there...but perhaps just not on The Spanish Steps). With his protective Mama and five sisters, will their love ever get off the ground? 

Set in a such beautiful city, this book makes you feel like you're actually walking the cobbled streets of Rome, tasting the delicious food & sipping on the finest Italian wine. When really I was wrapped in a blanket, munching on a hobnob and nursing a mug of sweet tea (it's been a tough week) I love to travel!

A perfect holiday read, whether you're actually leaving the house or staycation-ing like me. A bene five cwtches!

A great read during the summer. Kate is newly divorced and decides to take a week's holiday, on her own, to Rome. She meets a new American best friend, Jamie, and falls head over heels in love with Italian policeman, Alessandro. Kate wants to move to Rome but her family and Alessandro's are against the relationship. Will she be able to find the happiness she wants with Alessandro? Read on!

I don't know about you but I am a complete magpie to any book that even slightly mentions Italy, so when I saw this beautiful book cover with the title "Rome is Where The Heart Is" I fell instantly in love. I recall gazing at the ebook cover for quite some time as I didn't want to turn the page to begin reading as it would mean I would no longer see the cover. 

However, intrigue soon got the best of me and I couldn't wait to begin this story. I was swept into the storyline like a sweet breeze, however the setting at first was anything but when the domestic situation Kate found herself in with her husband, Matt left much to be desired for. Matt was a complete and utter idiot for doing what he did, but I think, Kate was better off in the end. 

Doing what she should have done all along, Kate followed her heart (and mine) and boarded a plane to Rome...if only she'd told me she was going  :)  

The description of Rome had you feeling torn between downing the pages to book a flight yourself, and eagerly gripping the book in order to not miss one single detail out. Tilly created such highly detailed descriptions that you almost kid yourself into thinking that you were there yourself! Each chapter came with more exquisite imagery, and the plot literally thickened especially when that sexy Italian policeman in his uniform showed up...between just you and I, I was categorically drooling myself for Alessandro. 

The romance that blossomed between those pair in my opinion could give Romeo and Juliet a run for their money, but set in such a romantic place, romance had to blossom didn't it? But, as in all truly beautiful love stories - they do not always run smoothly...

I am giving this book 5/5 because I simply loved it!  

I devoured each page like a delicious bowl of pasta (I love my carbs), and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next book to see exactly what happened with Kate and Alessandro. Luckily for me, I didn't have to wait that long before ...

Rome is Where the Heart Is is another great book by Tilly Tennant. I have yet to find a book by Tilly that I have not loved and this book was no exception I could not put it down. I will have to move on to the sequel as I just have to find out what happens between Kate and Alessandro. A great book to pick up and read while relaxing on holiday.

Apologies, I've just realised I've reviewed the second book in Tilly Tennant's italian series and not reviewed this one! I saved this one so I could read it before the sequel and not have any waiting time between them! As I've said in my previous review, Tilly Tennant has become one of my favourite writers and I adore her books - this one was no exception! Warm and romantic and a fab setting too! I loved it!

Kete and her husband Matt live her life in happiness, or at least Kate thinks like that. Matt wants a divorce and Kate finds herself hurt and devastated. With the help of her two supportive sisters, she goes in Rome alone. Expecting to cure her broken heart she isn’t afraid. Rome is beautiful, but the Italian man called Alessandro is enchanting.
Searching Net Galley for a new read I found Rome Is Where the Heart Is. I was so excited because I didn’t have read any book by Tilly Tennant. The blurb sounded like this is it, I would love this book. The excitement still lasts till the second half of the book started to be a little bit slowly. 
Rome Is Where the Heart Is is the first book from the From Italy with Love series. The story centered on Kate and her romance trip in Rome.
The story starts when Kate’s husband wants a divorce and she too devastated and broken goes to Rome alone to heal her wounds. Kate is a lovable character who just wants to relax and finds herself in this bad world. While she tries to enjoy in Rome alone, she meets Jamie and then Alessandro. Jamie is one great American man, very friendly. Alessandro is one handsome Italian man, very attractive.
The calm and bright tone is what I like the most while I read this book, but slow-paced of events make me feel like I would drop it. 
I recommend this book for everyone who likes light, calm books which make you feel relaxed.

Sometimes you just have to take chances and see how life turns out. Maybe there is a happy ending waiting just around the corner.

Kate's life has recently fallen apart when her childhood sweetheart Matt, the man she has been married to forever, walks out on their relationship. She can't seem to find a new direction until spontaneously she takes a trip to Rome and life completely changes. Not only does Kate make a new friend, the lovely Jamie, a larger than life American, but she also finds a new love in the shape of a rather delicious Italian policeman, Alessandro. On top of all this, Rome also steals her heart and she can quite clearly picture making a life far away from the chilly Manchester where she has always lived. 

But nothing is ever simple when it comes to creating a new life. Kate's two sisters are not sure about the direction Kate's life might be heading in and are not backward in having their say. As well her youngest sister is dealing with her own tragedy so Kate is not sure that now is the right time to be moving away to another country. But how long will Alessandro wait for her to find her way back to him?

This was a absolutely awesome story with so many super characters. Jamie is hugely entertaining and quite believable as the American businessman who takes Kate on wild adventures through Rome. I loved that no character in this story was one dimensional as they all had faults as well as heaps of personality. Alessandro's five sister and very Italian mama are delightful and you just want to sit at their table enjoying a glass of red and a good meal. I was very sad to turn the last page and exit their world but was relieved to know that there would be an opportunity to return as there is a sequel to this story not to be missed. 

A great holiday read (really anytime read) as you really don't want to put it down until that last page is read.

Funny, fast and ideal for the summer. Highly recommended.

Arriving in the city Kate makes friends with Jamie an American tourist and then meets the gorgeous Alessandro, a policeman - and who wouldn't fall for a sexy Italian in uniform!

With just a week will things work out for Kate or will she return home with a broken heart - luckily there is another book due to carry on the story!

I truly found this book fascinating and enjoyed reading it. It was a pleasant and entertaining book which I appreciate and left me pleased overall in all aspects. I would highly recommend this book, the title speaks volumes and I can assure you, you will love it.
