I read this in a day. I really am loving this compulsive compelling series.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
This author is so underrated. 

Jessica Daniels has been great within these investigations. I’ve seen her grow, I’ve seen her mature and now I’m seeing her personality shine through.
She has everyone’s back in her team and her team hers. They’ve grown together, there’s deep respect .

This case is a hard nut to open and solve. 
Along the way I felt like I was part of her team. I’ve been reading this series since book 1.

May I suggest you start from the beginning, you will get so much more out of it.

It’s intense and brilliantly done.

I love this series of books - each one manages to deliver in a completely different way than the ones before but equally as tense and compelling.  

Jessica Daniels is a Detective who, even through her own life struggles, puts in her all to solve the cases in and around the Manchester area where she is located.  This time, a young babysitter is taken from his charges - the parents come home to find the door open and the babysitter no where to be seen; luckily their child still remains and is none the wiser about the commotion happening around them.  

The babysitters obituary is posted before his disappearance, then he turns up dead in an apartment of a woman who seemingly he doesn't have any connection to...

Jessica Daniel and her team manage to work together in their typically British ways of banter and hard work to think outside the box and deliver a page-turner which you can relate to and then be left at the end with a cliffhanger and desire to read more and more!  Well worth a read...but read from the start of the series- you won't be disappointed.

Oh my gosh.  Took the night to read and was groped from the first page.  Great book!  Going to read the series now.

This was the 6th book in the Jessica Daniels series, and honestly they just get better and better.  I love the feistiness of Jessica, and the way she investigates crimes and deals with being a female in a male environment.  
The book started with a bang, with a babysitter going missing, and the baby not being harmed.  It was really a very thrilling book, and I can't wait to start book 7.  Please treat yourself to this brilliant offering.

This is the sixth book in the Jessica Daniels series.
Oliver, a teenage boy goes missing from a house he's supposed to be babysitting at but when the baby's parent's return home, nothing else is amiss and their daughter is still safely asleep in her cot.

DS Jessica Daniels is called in and although she's suspicious of the disappearance as Oliver's mobile was found at the house, she has nothing else to go on. But when a journalist friend informs her that someone placed an obituary for the missing teen two days before his disappearance her suspicions are raised even higher.When Oliver's body is then found in a seemingly random house across the other side of town the investigation takes a whole new turn.

This is another great read from Kerry Wilkinson and I really enjoyed the development of Jessica's character which is just as much a part of the story as the crime investigation. I would recommend you read this book but I think that even though it could be read as a standalone it would be much more enjoyable if you've read the previous five novels.

Cameron and Eleanor Sexton go out on a date night and leave their daughter with a friend's teenage son, Oliver..  After they call to check on their child and no one answers the phone, they arrive home to find the front door open and Oliver gone.  As it turns out, Oliver didn't leave; he was taken.  An obituary written days before Oliver's disappearance appears in a newspaper.  Oliver's body is later found in the bathtub of a woman who didn't know him.  Jessica Daniel investigates, and another woman's body turns up.  Her murder is identical to Oliver's  Jessica realizes there is a serial killer at large.

This was a good book except for the cliffhanger meant to make the reader purchase the next book to find out what happens.  I have deducted one star from my rating due to this practice.  I do not appreciate being forced to purchase a sequel to find out the end of the story, only to most likely find another cliffhanger at the end of that book to force the purchase of the next one.  Authors should have enough faith in their talent to trust that their writing is good enough that readers will WANT to read their next book.  If they doubt that their talent is enough to encourage readers to buy the next book, then that makes me doubt their talent, too.

"The Missing Dead" by Kerry Wilkinson is the sixth installment of his Jessica Daniel series. This book has already been released so if you're interested you can find it now in bookstores and online as an e-book. I was lucky enough to get the first book in the series, "Locked In" for 99¢ so I could get to know the main character well before delving into book six.

This is a twisted, complicated mystery that starts with a missing teen. Oliver was babysitting but when the parents of his charge come home they find their little girl fast asleep but no Oliver. Detective Sergeant Jessica Daniel is called in to find out where the teen has gone. By the time they find Oliver murdered, another murder has happened with very similar characteristics. Det. Daniel must winnow out the connection between the two murders and figure out who the culprit is. It will take her into the underworld of strip clubs and thugs. 

I really wanted to like this series. Unfortunately, I found myself somewhat underwhelmed. This book was only a three for me. It's not like the mystery isn't good, I just didn't connect enough to the character of Jessica. I found this surprising. Jessica Daniel is a no nonsense spitfire of a character who throws it back as much as she takes it when dealing with colleagues. She pushes hard for answers and runs herself even harder than she does the constables who work under her. I should have liked her. I really don't know why I didn't. Since it was a good, solid mystery with no flaws to speak of and the writing was good and the main protagonist was complicated and relatable I have to put it down to just not the right fit for me. It happens. I guess what I'm saying is that although I am putting this review up, you may want to look at other people's reviews to balance my blasé attitude toward this otherwise good read. So many other reviewers love this series. In fact, that's why I was excited to try it. Maybe I"m just having an off week. I hope you as the reader give this series a try, even though it wasn't for me, I still would recommended it to friends and family.

I just love this series! I can't believe that I"m on book 6 in this series and not tired of the characters yet. To me, that shows what a good author Wilkinson is - the characters stay fresh each time and they develop enough that I don't feel like I'm reading the same book each time. Definitely recommend this series!

While not as interactive to me as think of the children this was still a very good novel.  I enjoy reading this author as he has such a talent and Jessica Daniel has fast become one of my favourite detectives

As always a great read from start to finish. Can't  wait to read the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book, the plot was tense and I loved how the different characters, particularly Jessica have developed as the series has continued. Looking forward to the next book in the series. 4 stars from me for this one.

I have read and loved all of Kerry Wilkinson's books to date but I think this might just be his best book so far!  It was full of twists and I couldn't put it down. A couple who go out for a date night arrive home to find their daughter in her bed but the babysitter (Oliver) is gone and at first they are angry that he left their daughter alone but then they discover that he has left his phone behind so they realise something is very wrong.  I don't want to spoil the book by saying anymore but it is full of twists and you won't be able to put it down this is a fantastic read and Kerry Wilkinson at his best!!!

Didn't review trying to catch up and clear my TBR a bit

Talk about a twisty turny topsy turvy story. Kerry Wilkinson is at it again in this Jessica Daniel suspenseful thriller. Jessica gets called out to a house where a teenage boy named Oliver who was babysitting has vanished from. With her spidey skills, Jessica, in her own special let-me-bug-you-until-you-give-me-what-I-want kind of way digs deeper and deeper into the pasts of the many characters in this book. What I didn’t expect, was for Kerry to throw in a little medical terminology. As a personal trainer who loves studying the human body (yes, I really should have gone to med school), anything in the way of biological science really sparks my interest. I love when a fictional read tosses info about a disease or something I didn’t know existed into it. I also like how Jessica’s personal story is told throughout the book. The reader wants to know more about her and Kerry does a great job of it. Overall, the plot of this book was really well done. The who, the why, the how, all very cut and dry and with that little “ding” of a lightbulb as everything gets drawn together. Some people wrote about how the ending was a bit mean because it leads you to the next part of Jessica’s story without giving you what you really want to know. It’s one of those stay tuned for the next episode of kind of ending. The good news is that Book 7 is out and you will be glued to the pages of that one as well.

Love this book, ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES & Kerry. But not gonna waste my time adding a big review because "Bookouture" does not approve them for anyone to see!! I've made a huge review on every book in this series but this one and not one has ever been approved, I'd rather have more reading time then waste it on here!

This was the second book I have read in the Jessica Daniel series and I have to say it won't be my last. I really enjoy this series.   The characters are well written, the plot line is exciting and interesting, and the outcome is always a little unexpected. I like the character of Jessica, and her friend Izzy,  I like the interaction between the characters and I enjoyed the storyline of this book quite a bit. 

 I will definitely be reading the first four books in the series and continuing on with all the rest of them. I really enjoyed them and I highly recommend them

Thanks to Netgalley I have been fortunate to read and review all of the books in this excellent series. Unfortunately, I was not as engrossed in this story as I have been with all of the other books. I felt this book started off very slow and while I liked that this book concentrated alot on Jessica's personal life and relationships, the actual murder plot was lacking and I admit to skimming here and there which is not something that I have done with any of the other books. I did like this book, just not as much as the others. I am still looking forward to the next book in this series!
