I love a good hockey romance and Irresistable You is a great start to this hockey series. Harper is such a strong heroine who has had a crappy father and mother and not much family to speak of. Remy is the total opposite. He knows what it's like to have the love and support of a great family and wants nothing more than to be Harper's person. They start of as enemies, but quickly find that there is so much heat beneath the fiery looks and heated words. Harper and Remy were hot and I loved how Remy truly did what he needed to do to become Harper's person. Sometimes what you think you want isn't always the grand prize when you get there. Great story! I really enjoyed it.

I was attracted to Kate Meader’s Irresistible You from the description. I thought it was unique for three estranged sisters to inherit a hockey team, be forced to work and live together. This basically guaranteed lots of emotion and I love a story that gives the feels. Ms. Meader didn’t disappoint. Irresistible You is just freaking great. I will be the first to say that I am a bit of a suspense junkie so a straight up contemporary is unusual for me. However, the blurb hooked me and the seductive chemistry between Harper and Remy kept me turning the pages.

Irresistible You didn’t have as much of the sister storyline as I anticipated but Meader more than made up for it with the romance. The scenes where all three sisters are together are hilarious especially pottery night 😊 Each of the girls are wildly different which I find intriguing. I cannot wait to find out what happens when they find their men.

Harper and Remy are two fascinating characters. Each are stereotyped by their peers and each other. As they pull apart each other’s layers the emotional and sexual tension becomes palpable and downright irresistible. Pun intended 😊 Ms. Meader is very good at creating a bond between the reader and her characters. For instance, Remy’s family is simply gold. It’s impossible not to fall in love with them and it’s easy to see how he became a good man. While he thrived from his family and their support Harper thrived from her determination to surpass all her naysayers. The number one naysayer being her father. Irresistible You is a heady romance that will make you weak in the knees but it is also a powerful story built around strong characters.

Kate Meader’s Chicago Rebels series is a Hit! I Loved it and I’m Joyfully Recommending it! Irresistible You is a sexy, sassy, oh so tasty feast.

Irresistible You by Kate Meader is written in the same world as Hot in Chicago Series and has a very similar vibe. Just like the books in Hot in Chicago, Meader kept this story sexy and sweet and full of men in uniform and strong minded heroines.

This book reminded me of Jennifer Probst’s Billionaire Builders Series where the estranged brothers inherited their father’s business with stipulations of working together before the ownership finalizes. Despite family drama, daddy issues, and with their careers in the same field, the siblings are able to work together. In this case, Harper and her sisters are left with a Hockey Team. Again, despite daddy issues, family drama, and current careers, they are willing to give it a go. Of course, since this is Romance, eventually getting a happy-ever-after.

The similarities from another series made the story predictable for me but I still think it was a fun read overall. Remy is just to die for and his love for Harper was super romantic. Harper on the other hand is a hard ass. I do love her crave for success. Meader did a good job portraying women’s struggle to be on top of the business-food chain. I’m glad the fear, emotions, etc were not overly done.

I enjoyed reading about the team and I’m excited to read more. Almost all of the players are interesting and would like to see their individual stories. I’m confident that this will be a good series to follow.

Kate Meader steps into the world of contemporary sports romance with the heartfelt, sexy, entertaining, and refreshingly different Irresistible You, the first book in her Chicago Rebels series. You will not find the often-characterized hockey playboy in this engaging love story, but rather a mature and level-headed man who respects women and isn’t overly impressed with himself. Neither will you find a heroine who is in awe of a professional athlete, because she’s his boss and a damn good businesswoman. These two variations on some of the norms of the sub-genre make Irresistible You unique and a particularly interesting and enjoyable read.

Remy DuPrue is a veteran hockey center with the unfortunate nickname Jinx. He’s considered the unluckiest guy in the NHL, because he’s never been on a team that’s won the Stanley Cup although he’s an amazing athlete, reliable teammate and has been playing for seventeen years. At thirty-five, he knows this might be his last year on the ice, and he believes he finally has a chance to win the championship with a team he’s helped build, the Boston Cougars. Well, at least he had a chance of finally achieving his ultimate career goal – until he was traded to the worst team in the league, the Chicago Rebels. The charismatic, easygoing Louisiana native and proud Cajun is angry about the move and pissed at his new boss, Harper Chase.

Harper just inherited the Rebels along with her two estranged sisters, who are not particularly interested in running the organization. Harper loves the team and has worked for them for years, and she’s committed to seeing them succeed. She’s acting as the general manger and she needs Remy’s leadership and teambuilding skills to get the team on track and into the playoffs this year; and if she can’t get them that far the team will be sold, as stipulated by the terms of her father’s will.

Remy acts out his outrage by missing his first practice and playing with subpar effort in his first game, which angers and frustrates the strong-willed Harper. The two begin a feisty battle of wills, their instant and intense mutual attraction complicating an already difficult situation.

Notwithstanding his initial juvenile behavior, Remy is reasonable and thoughtful when he candidly explains his stance and feelings about the trade to Harper and asks for a quid pro quo that might allow him to return to Boston before the end of the season so he can get his Stanley Cup. They agree to work together, and their new partnership ignites the unrelenting chemistry building between them to a fever pitch. They also begin to get to know, like, and respect each other, and Ms. Meader progresses their sexual relationship in parallel with a developing emotional connection.

Harper understandably struggles with the idea of getting involved with a player and employee, but Remy isn’t as concerned about mixing business with pleasure. He turns on the full force of his Southern charm to win her over, and readers will find him irresistible. Jovial and persuasive, Remy is extremely likeable and makes for a wonderful break from the cocky, man-whore athlete so often found in this sub-genre. He’s all-around swoon-worthy, except I sometimes found his Cajun-isms a bit overdone – accurate but a bit much. I’m a little Cajun myself, so perhaps my tolerance level is a bit lower than most reader’s.

Both Remy and Harper’s families are included and make for enjoyable secondary characters and an entertaining addition to the story, especially Remy’s. He’s an only son with four sisters and seven nieces, and their interactions are endearing and fun. His family’s dynamic explains a lot about his respect for women and his wholehearted acceptance of female boss in the male dominated world of professional sports.

Irresistible You is a feel-good sports romance with steamy interludes, tender moments, humor, and an interesting story that is distinguished from the typical sports romance by the use of refreshingly non-stereotypical characters.

M/F Romance

Remy is on his way to winning the Stanley Cup – or so he thinks. For years he's been trying to achieve that last prize. Known in the league as Jinx, he hasn't been able to shake that. Despite coming towards the end of his career, he isn't keen on being traded to the last place team – or a team that is trying to rebuild with an unorthodox manager – the first woman, Harper, and her sisters.

Harper has been trying to prove herself to her father all her life. He was a hockey player, a hockey manager, and a horrible father. He cheated multiple times and had several daughters. Each daughter was given a place – but they must fulfill his will in order to obtain the money he left them. It's his finally dig at Harper. She's a strong, confident woman, but she kind of turns to mush when Remy looks her way.

Harper and Remy are an explosive duo. They both have tempers and both know they should stay away from each other. However, their chemistry and pull are difficult to ignore. With Remy's New Orleans charm and his awesome family, Harper sees what she has been missing.

When a blast from Harper's past comes back to nag at her, her sisters and Remy will stand up for her. This is truly a story about overcoming the past, putting to bed old demons, and knowing your own worth.

I cannot wait for the next story.

Harper Chase needs something, anything, to go right. Having to run the Chicago Rebels with her half-sisters is only one of the major challenges she faces. Failing to make the playoffs this season means that everything they work hard for will be for naught. Their dear old dad put a stipulation in his will that if the Rebels fail to make the playoffs then the team has to be sold. For all that he loved hockey, Clifford Chase didn't believe that women had a place in the front office.

Remy DuPre is ready to make his final run at the Cup after having missed it last season. That was until he was traded to the worst team in the league. With a huge chip on his shoulder, he's determined to do the bare minimum until he can get Harper to trade him.

What Harper and Remy failed to take into account was the attraction between them, and not just physical attraction. Remy listens to Harper and Harper inspires him to be better, to do better.

With the odds stacked against them, should they keep their romance hidden or bring it out into the light? The choices they make not only affect them, the team, but their families as well.

Wow! This action packed, knicker-melting hockey romance had my feminist heart doing a happy dance by the end of the second chapter. The first in a series about three half-sisters who inherit a failing NHL franchise, this is the story of Harper, the oldest sister and the team’s general manager. Harper is fierce and she is determined to see her team through to the playoffs.

This series is a breath of fresh air in an oversaturated sports romance market. While I love hockey and enjoy sports romances, too many of the books – even those by really popular authors – have become predictable and formulaic. While the romance here is slightly predictable, this story is much more than a romance and I really enjoyed reading about hockey from a female owner’s perspective. Only Bianca Sommerland has attempted this angle before and this series will work for a wider, more PG audience than Sommerland’s fabulous books attract.

In this series, the focus is as much on the on the three Chase sisters and the complicated relationships between them as it is on the romance between Harper and Remy. All three are fascinating women. Harper is a businesswoman. Isobel has a coaching career after retiring from hockey and Violet works part time in a tattoo shop. Their father’s will forces them to work together, but his death and their proximity also dredges up family secrets and skeletons.

The oldest sibling, Harper seems cold, hard, and a little ruthless at first. I respected and admired her from the start but it wasn’t until we learned some of her history that I was able to warm to her. As she lets her sisters and her team into her life, Harper becomes a much more likeable character and I really loved watching her fight her attraction to Remy.

I’m not sure if there are any real life Cajun NHL players but I’d like to think so. Remy is a charming bastard and he also gets better as we learn more about him, his family, and his past. The chemistry between these two is hot. There are a few steamy scenes in this story, but there is much more story than sex and I really liked the balance. I loved this book and I’m already looking forward to the next story in the series.

5 stars for the sports-based story,
at least 10 stars for the writing

This book has one feature above all others which I need to tell you about – the wonderfully funny conversations between Harper and Remy – these two people are so perfect for each other; trading humorous sentences better than possibly any couple I have read about... ever. Ms. Meader has surpassed herself in creating two wonderful characters who just come alive off the page and had me chuckling every time they spoke to each other. It is such intelligent banter, sometimes witty, sometimes flirty, sometimes sexy; I was utterly enchanted.

The story is a winner too. It has plenty of layers, and lots of opportunity to become (I hope) a long running series – there were plenty of people I cared enough about to want to know more. I am very hopeful of more of this wonderful duo too – as they really brightened up my day!

My advice? Get yourself a copy as soon as you can and give yourself a treat. Thank you, Ms, Meader – and do we really have to wait till December for the next installment?

Irresistible You is the first full book in Kate Meader’s new Chicago Rebel series (In Skates Trouble, book 0.5, originally released in the Hot On Ice anthology). As a huge fan of her previous Hot in Chicago books, I did a little happy dance when I heard she was writing a new sports romance series. Kate Meader’s dialogue combined with sports action? That’s my recipe for a good time. I have to admit, however, that it took me a little while to get into this book and I know exactly why. You’ve heard me rant and rave about what makes a great sports romance. I need some real sports portrayed. I need real play by play action described on the ice. I need some insight into what it means to be a sports athlete and what it takes to love a professional athlete. I began to see that this was not going to be that book. Nonetheless, it is a testament to Kate Meader’s engaging writing that I continued to read it with an open mind and ultimately, felt emotionally satisfied at the end.

Harper Chase has been a part of the Chicago Rebels organization for as long as she can remember. She lives and breathes the Rebels. After her father’s death, she is now running the organization..kinda. Harper has done the leg work. She has invested years of blood, sweat and tear into the organization. She has learned the job from the ground up. She is ready to become one of professional hockey’s first female General Managers. Unfortunately, as a stipulation of her ascension, she must share the business with her two, estranged, half-sisters. Additionally, she must get the last place Rebels to the playoffs this season. This is a make it or break it year. She knows she needs the one man that will bring the experience, maturity and skill necessary to bring this team together – Remy Dupre.

Remy is one of the veterans of the league. In fact, he knows he is one season away from retirement and he does not want to be traded to the Rebels. He needs to work with a team that has the potential to win the Stanley Cup, not join a seemingly disorganized and hapless team. He and Harper set up a workable agreement so that he can play just until the trading period. The more I read about Remy, the more I like him. He is not your typical professional hockey player. He is not into puck bunnies. He wants a real relationship. He does not want to start anything until after he retires because he does not want his attention divided between family and career. He has a large, warm and loud family who add color to the narrative. And, being from New Orleans, he knows how to cook Creole food! He may be special, but he really hooks me when he accuses Harper of acting like Elizabeth Bennet by prejudging him. Yes, he reads Jane Austin! That’s when the story starts to turn for me. The author gives Remy just enough self-deprecation to make me want to read more.

I feel like Kate Meader’s words captures her characters so well. Harper is all sharp edges. She has learned through her interactions with her late father, how to live defensively:

She’d graduated from the School of Clifford Chase magna cum laude in Sentiment Is for Losers. In following her father’s lesson plan, she’d put her heart in permanent detention and let it become scabbed over for its protection. So used to her loneliness, she had labeled it independence. Turned it into a badge of honor.

With these kinds of descriptions, I know that Harper is a prickly pear and I would not want to work for her, but would love to be her friend. On the flip side, Remy is so big-hearted and his warmth and charm melts the brittle exterior that Harper wears as a shield:

I’ve never met anyone who needs to be held and loved as much as you do, Harper. Well, it so happens that you’ve got a man here with strong arms made to keep you safe. With so much love inside him that’s just busting to get out. It’s all for you, minou. No one else I’d rather give it to.

When he talks, it feels like getting a warm bear hug.

So, I cannot say that this is the best sports romance I have ever read. In fact, one of my favorites in this genre has a similar storyline. However, as a contemporary romance, this one is a winner and left me a little giddy with the happily ever after.

Kate Meader never fails to deliver for me. I love a hockey book and to be honest I was worried that I wouldn’t love it as much as I love her firefighter book because I have read a TON of hockey books. I should feel silly to have ever even had such a thought. Irresistible You was amazing. Harper and Remy were more than I could have imagined.

Remy was to die for, with his bulking frame, tough demeanor and penchant for breaking out his French at just the right moment, the Cajun hockey player hit all my buttons just right. For her part Harper was equally tough but soft when needed. Being boss and employee put them in a tough spot and watching them tread the waters of a fling when both knew it was a bad choice was hot and intense.

If you a hockey fan than this is a book you don’t want to miss. These two have an undeniable chemistry and the circumstances forcing them to keep secret only made everything more exciting. I am a long time Kate Meader fan and this is just one more in a string of amazing books from her. Grab it today!

Provocative, passionate, and red-hot!

Irresistible You is a lighthearted, hockey romance featuring the delicious Cajun, Remy who finds himself traded to a losing team just as he's thinking about retirement, and the ballsy, competent Harper who finally has the career she's always wanted but with some unexpected strings attached.

The writing is effortless. The characters, including all the supporting characters, are fun, intriguing, and downright swoon-worthy. And the plot is an engaging mix of genuine emotion, sexy banter, palpable attraction, smouldering chemistry, hockey, food, and of course some sizzling romance.

What a fantastic way to start a new series. Irresistible You is a smart, seductive story with great character development, and a smoking hot cover that will undeniably leave you wanting more.

Thank you to NetGalley, especially Pocket Books, for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another wonderful read by Kate Meader, I loved Irresistible You!

The writing is well done, the storyline entertaining all throughout the book, I loved all the characters and the role they played in making this such a great read.

Harper and Remy were wonderful characters who made me laugh, they made me swoon and they made me fall in love with them. They had amazing chemistry and watching them get their happily ever after left me full of happy feels.

Irresistible You is a wonderful addition to the Chicago Rebels series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.
Looking forward to Isobel and Vadim's book next in So Over You due to be released December 4th, 2017.

5 STARS for Irresistible You!! What a fun sexy story that you can't put down. I loved seeing this story unfold for Remy and Harper they are perfect together. This is a great start to a new series and I am excited to read more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley.

I wasn't sure I was going to like Harper.  When you first meet her she's a little harsh and brittle but Meader makes sure that you understand that most of it is a front.  She's under a lot of stress, with a lot of insecurities from her youth, and being thrown into the same orbit as her half-sisters and the man that she can't have isn't helping.  Before too long I found myself with all sorts of feels for the poor woman.  But you can't feel too bad for her once Remy turns his attention her way!

The youngest with a whole passel of sisters and nieces, Remy was guaranteed to be perfect hero material ... even if he is surrounded by testosterone as a hockey player :)  He's patient and understanding, but also with a streak of charming bad boy in him.  He's the perfect balance of Alpha and sensitive.  He's good for Harper, supportive & caring, and he keeps her life from overtaking her.

My only trouble was with the ending because it's just hard when Harper has been so adamant about how she is perceived.  But you knew it was going to work out some way and I'm pretty sure that this is the only way it would have been satisfying.

Definitely an engrossing read and I'm so intrigued by the other sisters & where there stories are going.  Meader did an amazing job of giving this group of people complexity and depth.  You can't help but want to get to know all of their secrets!

Kate Meader has tickled your palate with her Hot in the Kitchen series. She's set your heart ablaze with her Hot in Chicago series. Now, she's going to introduce you to the world of hockey with her Chicago Rebels series.

Irresistible You, the first full-length novel in the Chicago Rebels series, pairs a star hockey player with his female team owner/general manager, in a forbidden relationship guaranteed to make you fall in love.

Harper Chase knows hockey. She's spent her whole life around it and is desperate to prove that a female can be just as effective in the front office as any man. She’s bided her time, sitting next to her father, and thinking the team would pass to her one day. To her surprise, her father dies and leaves the team not only to her but to her two half sisters as well. This turn of events is not good but Harper can handle it. Too bad the old man had more up his sleeves. Not only do the three sisters who have never gotten along have to run the team together, the second to last place team must make it to the playoffs by the end of the season or it will be sold to someone else.

Remy DuPre has been in the league for seventeen years. This number-one draft pick has been traded six times in his career. However, the Stanley Cup has eluded him. Remy is looking to retire this year, and thinks that he is finally with a team that can get him what he’s been working his entire career for. Remy gets blindsided when he gets traded to the Chicago Rebels.

Remy makes it known that he isn’t happy with his trade and chooses to not play his best. When Harper confronts him, the two strike a deal. But at the same time, they realize that they have an undeniable attraction to each other. The two start up a secret relationship that has Remy knocking Harper’s socks off in the bedroom and out. The best part is that Remy woos her with his culinary cooking skills and food from his beloved hometown of New Orleans.

Irresistible You was so much more than I ever expected. I can literally sing my praises for Remy and Harper for weeks, if not months. The secondary characters are a-m-a-z-i-n-g! The best part is that all of them are going to have their own stories!!!! Kate has definitely set up high expectations for this series and I’m looking forward to finding out what she has in store for her characters and her readers.

Oh my! I really loved this! First off, y'all know I'm a sucker for books that have a Cajun hero since that is where I'm from and where my heart will always be, no matter how far off I travel. Sometimes the author gets it right, sometimes they don't. Kate Meader hit the nail on the head! Just enough Cajun French in there, not a lot of translations for it, in my opinion, perfect. I squealed when Remy called Harper "minou". I haven't heard that term of endearment in YEARS. Totally made me smile and brought back wonderful memories of a boy I use to know....but you don't want to hear about that. You want to know about this book and Remy and Harper ;0)

Remy was fantastic. Sweet, a gentleman, just enough self-confidence to know he's good, but not to cocky and full of himself. And the man can cook. Need I say more? He brought out a soft side of Harper that she felt she needed to hide away since she was trying to make it in the professional world of hockey which is dominated by men. It really sucks that women are viewed as incompetent when it comes to almost anything sports related. We can be just as passionate and knowledgeable, but are overlooked and ridiculed because we aren't men. And this story just showed how unfair it is. Harper wasn't even viewed as worthy to own the team by her own butthead of a father.

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because we're left not knowing if Harper and her sisters will place in the top 3 for the season or if they'll have to let the team go (that was the stipulation in their dad's will...they have to take a team that is ranked second to last and make top 3 in order for it not to be sold to a group that is poised to buy it). Granted, I'm guessing the next book will pick up where this one leaves off time wise, or even a bit earlier if I had to guess since I'm figuring it will be Isobel and that hunky Russian she has a past with. And less we forget the sister they didn't know about, Violet, who needs a book and there is a Scottish player who is giving her looks ;) So, I guess we will know by the end of the series. I CAN NOT WAIT!

*thanks to Tasty Book Tours for sharing a copy of this with me*

Irresistible You is book one of Kate Meader’s brand new hockey series the Chicago Rebels, but don’t forget there is a prequel story In Skates Trouble, which originally debuted in the ‘Hot on Ice’ anthology, but is now available as a single title too.

So, on to this story; sports romance with hot guys on skates and all that testosterone goodness, yep, I was in readers heaven! That said, there is a great storyline and some seriously intense chemistry between the main characters, as well as the rebuilding of an estranged relationship between the three sisters.

A fabulous read, that left me impatient for more!

Good sports romance. I really liked Jinx and his family. I wanted more from the sisters relationship. I had a hard time connecting, because it seemed like so many of their problems could have been solved by talking to one another. And they all acted like little kids still looking for daddy's approval. So while I liked the story and the romance, I didn't love any of the female characters. I will still look for the next book in this series.

Harper Chase has inherited a mess from her father as she is left with a barely functional NHL team to run. Remy "Jinx" DuPre is at the end of his illustrious hockey career but does not want to retire until he can obtain the one thing that has always taunted him, the Stanley Cup. When Harper takes a chance on getting Remy traded to her team, so he can help them reach the playoffs, his dreams of seeing the Stanley Cup go out the window even as winning Harper's love might just make it worth it.

Tough exteriors and fragile hearts dress up Kate Meader's characters like runway models strutting their bold and sexy goodness in the first book in her Chicago Rebel's series, Irresistible You. The leads in this story, Harper and Remy, had very defined agendas but when an unexpected chemistry between these two started to cloud their focus this author took their dynamic and ran with it as desire, angst and happiness all vied for a victory skate around the rink. Ms. Meader brought to life finely detailed and interesting portrayals with well timed fun exchanges and moving drama, making a good case for global warming with the ice melting heat generated from her leads. Harper was a pint sized powerhouse and brought a great show of steely competence and femininity to the male dominated world she worked in even while Remy's casual and seemingly easygoing attitude belied a shrewd player and determined lover. Battles on and off the ice kept this story fresh and lively to the end. Kate Meader scored big with Irresistible You!

“He makes me feel desired. Wanted. He makes me feel like a kiss could solve all my problems.”

A new series from Kate Meader, one of my favorite authors, and another reason to fall in love with her writing, her characters, her world. Irresistible You certainly lives up to its name—it is completely and utterly irresistible.

And not just because of the sexy Cajun, Remy. Though he certainly helps, what with his feeding and f__king and fussing. His accent. His minou’s and other French-Cajun murmurings. This book is irresistible because of all of those thing, sure, but also because it has dimensions.

The forbidden nature of Remy and Harper’s romance is one. Harper’s battle with her role as a woman in a position of power in the NHL is another. The uneasy tension of the Chase sisters’ relationship, another. And that’s just the beginning. There’s much going on here but never too much; it comes together easily, sexily and sweetly.

And how sweet it is to know that this series is just beginning. The hockey-centric universe Ms. Meader is creating has a fantastic foundation in Irresistible You—a wealth of characters I want to know more about, a franchise I’m invested in and determined to see win, and a Cajun who can whisper sweet-sexy-sultry nothings in my ear, anytime he wants.

“I’m asking you to be a little bit brave here. Lean on me. Let me love you. We both get what we want.”

~ FIVE Minou STARS ~
