I Love My Wok contains lots of delicious recipes with mouthwatering photos to match. It truly showcases the versatility of the wok as more than just a tool to make a basic stir-fry or fried rice. Dishes range from Chinese to Thai, Korean, and even Indian. There's really so much you can do with your wok, and if you are a fan of Asian cooking in general, this cookbook shares a broad look at the many different dishes you can create.

I was looking for a cookbook to teach me how to use my wok, and this is one I needed. I found excellent explanations on using the wok and so many easy to make recipes. Almost all of the menu items I go out for, can now be made at home, easily. Highly recommend this book.

Great cook book! interesting introduction explaining the wok then goes into exciting and tasty recipes which are easy to follow and taste great! thanks.

Never knew one could make such delicious food in a wok!
Learned a few new tricks and a lot of recipes!

Award winning cookbook author, Nicola Graimes, in her excellent cookbook, I Love My Wok: More Than 100 Fresh, Fast and Healthy Recipes, shows how the wok is one of the most versatile and important pieces of equipment in the kitchen. She not only instructs how to use it in innovative ways, but presents mouthwatering recipes from all over the world (mostly Asian countries) that most cooks will be unable to resist. Her recipes include succinct and easy-to-follow instructions, that will make every cook, from beginners to advanced, an expert in using a wok, and also very popular with family and friends as they taste the incredible dishes.
Graimes is not out to intimidate (as some cookbook authors do) with the recipes she includes in this book; rather, she presents her recipes in the simplest form so that they are doable by everyone. The pictures (alas, there isn’t a picture of every recipe) are mouthwatering, and make it difficult to choose what to make for dinner tonight.
The most important aspect is, of course, that the recipes turn out picture perfect. The Filipino Turkey in Peanut Sauce has already become a favorite, as well as the Prawn and Coconut Pilaf, and the Indonesian Fried Rice. The Hoisin Beef Stir-Fry has minimal ingredients (ones that are already in most refrigerators) and is very easy to make; it’s yummy, too. There are mouthwatering soups, innovative salads, and fabulous seafood dishes. The book includes a section of vegetarian dishes that everyone - vegetarians and non-vegetarians – will love. The only thing missing is desserts, which probably aren’t generally made in the wok.
I have over two dozen wok cookbooks in my personal collection, and I Love My Wok: More Than 100 Fresh, Fast and Healthy Recipes is, hands down, the best of them. It’s also nice that Graimes has made the recipes fairly healthy (there isn’t an abundance of fat, sugar, or other additives that aren’t necessary – she adds only enough to make the dishes taste good) – a real bonus for those of us who want to keep our families healthy.
This is definitely the wok cookbook of the year and is highly recommended.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I Love My Wok is a nicely laid out, easy to use cookbook for a wok. The recipes are cleanly presented, there are full size pictures for many of the meals, and a nice introduction with recommendations and tools in the beginning. Ironically, the cover looks very basic but the inside is very professionally presented. You won't need a lot of tools - the wok really is the only component of many recipes.
The book breaks down as follows: Introduction, Appetizers and soups, Salads and sides, Noodles and rice, Meat, Poultry, Fish and shellfish, Vegetarian, and an index. The book is nearly all recipes and is very full - there are quite a few to choose from and the recipes are multi cultural, not just Asian (e.g., Pesto pasta). The books delves beyond stir frying in beef and also has recipes for braising, blanching, and using water instead of oil. And as noted above, there is a vegetarian section.
Each recipe comes with an allergy index, preparation time, cooking time, servings, ingredient list, and then directions. About half have full page photographs of the finished item (there are no small images, just full page). The ingredient list is right justified, which admittedly makes them fairly hard to read. Left justified Bullets would have made this much easier. The directions are in paragraph form and can get chunky and difficult to remember where you were - numbered brief steps would have been easier. I'm guessing the publisher or author wanted to make the recipes seem 'easier' by not listing a bunch of steps. But I hate having to find my place in the directions when they are in the middle of a large chunky paragraph.
So yes, a lot of really good recipes, most with a health conscious approach. Nicely designed, cleanly laid out with large text, and with some accompanying full page photographs. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Great recipes to cook in the wok...... All recipes are well explained ......

Nice collection of recipes that makes me want to pull out my unused wok again!

This is a great cookbook focused on the wok. It would be a good place to start if you are new to using a wok but it's still a good thing to have if you use your wok a lot. There's a lot of information about how to use your wok and good recipes. It's written in a very accessible way and is easy to understand. Overall a good cookbook containing some great information about using the wok.

Wow, this is another gorgeous book from Nourish Books. Beautiful photography, tons of very useful information and recipes that will make you and yours very happy indeed.
I am already totally head over heels in love with my wok and this book has given me a whole load more reasons to crank up the heat and fill my home with delicious aromas and lots of tasty food. The book is split up into different sections, starting with the detailed information section all about wok cooking and some history, followed by sections on different types of food, Appetizers and Soups, Salads and Sides, Noodles and Rice, Meat, Poultry, Fish and Seafood and Vegetarian. There are so many delicious sounding recipes such as Yum cha salmon buns and pork jungle curry, together with old favourites like chow mein and pad thai.
All together a beautiful and mouthwatering book.
