Great book, great recipes, even puts weight of cups as we don't use cup measurements in the UK. I can't wait to try these recipes.

As a fan of the website Sally's Baking Addiction, I was excited to see a cookbook devoted to cookies, which is the section of her website to which I am most drawn. This cookbook contains a great number of recipes for cookies I would label "Classic American Cookies". She also has introductory sections about baking equipment, techniques and cooking tips and explanations about cookie baking which is very informational for the home cook. In addition to the classics, she offers additional versions/varieties as well as a few off the beaten path cookies, making this a great cookbook both for the newbie and more experienced home baker. Her sections are unique in that they are not divided into the traditional categories (slice and bake; bar cookies; pressed cookies, etc.) but is, rather, divided by type as categorized by ingredients (nuts; sprinkles, etc.). This would make a great gift for home bakers, new home owners, new adults, and the newly married.

Sally's Cookie Addiction by Sally McKenney is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in mid-September.

An eclectic choice of recipes for traditional cookies (like sugar or chocolate chip), oaty ones, Christmas cookies, shortbread & cut cookies, and ones with a focus on nuts, sprinkles, different flavors, and even more chocolate. McKenney's narrative voice is cheerful, encouraging, and approaches cookies with more of a sense of awe than the fixation of addiction (even if the photographs are zoomed in so intimately close that you can see sugar granules). My favorite recipes include crispy-edged chocolate chip cookies, butter spritz cookies, chocolate sugar cookies, strawberry & cream cookie cups, raspberry almond linzers, coffee toffee shortbread, lemon creme sandwiches, and PB&J thumbprints.

This was a super scrumptious little cookie book. Packed full of delicious looking photos and incredibly yummy sounding recipes. The book is broken down into the following chapters. (Introduction, Key Ingredients, Kitchen Essentials, Sally’s Top 10 Cookie-Making Tips, How to Prevent Excess Spreading, Make-Ahead Tips and Freezing Instructions, Frosting and Icing, Family Favorites, All About Oats, Happy Holidays, Shortbread and Slice-and-bakes Galore, The Sprinkle Chapter, Nut About Nuts, Serious Chocolate Cravings, and Find Your Flavor). The recipes are attractively laid out and easy to follow. With little tips from Sally, herself and "make ahead suggestions" sprinkled throughout.

So if you are a cookie fan or know someone that is (and really who isn't??!!), this would make a great gift or addition to your very own cook book collection. Twi thumbs up from yours truly.
