This is already the 7th book in the series featuring the Hudson family. Unfortunately I haven't read the previous books, but I think this read nicely as a standalone, however I will read the previous books, just to catch up.
I couldn't put this book down. It kept me glued from start to finish. Can't wait for the next one!

Another great read by Julie. My only problem with her books are they always leave you wanting more. I recommend this whole series following the lives of the Hudson family in Bradford.

Really enjoyed this story but the downside is you are left with more questions than answers by the end of the book, I know its part of a series but nothing at all was finished in the story so you feel slightly unsettled with how the story ends!!!

Joey is nearly 19 and in a Blondie tribute band with Paula (soon to be Joey's girlfriend)

They are doing weekly gigs at their local pub when Joey is approached by a large man with an aura of power within him. Is he in the music business can he help their career.

Why is the man willing to offer them so much???

Great idea for a storyline, I just wish by the end of this story you knew the history with more detail for Christine and Mo.

Good mix of characters and I am left wanting to find what happens next.

Absolutely loved this book but so disappointed with the ending. It just ended on me :-/ I really want to know how life goes on for everyone nd will be seriously upset if there isn’t a follow up. I was so hooked and highly recommend but luckily I read it on my kindle otherwise had it been a book I would of flung it at the wall. It just ended on me nd I wasn’t ready. Being female nd naturally nosey aswell as the fact I like to know the ins nd outs of everything. I didn’t get that it just left me there. Nd gutted I might add. But yep it’s a fab read nd I will deffo read more from this author

Hidden Sin is a great read, an easy read book, that will see you flying through those pages.
I have read a few of these books in the series, unfortunately I seem to have missed a few out, but if i'm honest, I don't think it's taken anything away from the reading enjoyment.
I have enjoyed all the books i've read by this author so far, and Hidden Sin is no exception.
In this book we start off in Bradford 1997. Young Joey is growing up and learning to stand on his own two feet. His mother and step father have always been there for Joey. When Joey starts playing with a band, he soon has a blossoming love relationship, and he and Paula seem to be going places.
Joeys mother really isn't happy when she realises that Rasta Mo has returned from living abroad, and doing time. When Mo starts showing a keen interest in her son, she dreads having to tell Joey that MO is actually his father.
This knocks Joey, he doesn't know how he feels, or what if anything he want's from becoming friends with his father.
What is most worrying is the fact that it seems Joey is going to end up in a whole heap of trouble. His father is a criminal and he's going to drag Joey into his world if he isn't careful.
A really enjoyable read. I wanted to read on and on as I needed to know the direction the story would take. It's well worth reading. I just felt towards the end I needed more.
