A refreshing new take on the 'battle of the sexes'.

English billionaire Alex, who likes risks and getting what he wants, engineers a face to face meeting with a successful New Yorker Libby. There is an instant sizzle, but can they work together? Or will the barely held in check passion make keeping it professional impossible?

The plot is simple. Physical attraction and gratification dominate the story but accompanied by growing emotional attachment and a lowering of barriers between Alex and Libby. Physical closeness makes sharing their past tragedy and guilt possible and helps them both believe that love may be worth the potential for pain if it all ends badly again.

The characters are likeable if a little unrealistic. The conflict is primarily internal, but Libby's emotional battle keeps the reader wondering whether she is capable of letting love into her life again.

Fast-paced, the characters aren't memorable, but I don't think this is the role of this type. The perfect story for escapism, passion and a happy ever.

I received a copy of this book from Mills & Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Hello Mr Lancaster.
“What do you want?” is the question often asked as sparks fly from the off when British businessman Alex Lancaster meets New York marketing executive Libby Noble at a conference, and what follows is a passionate, whirlwind romance perfect for fans of the Fifty Shades and Crossfire novels.
J C Harroway has created well written, likeable characters who can’t deny their attraction to one another, and the good news is that Libby is a strong, feisty woman who gives as good as she gets, and can stand up to Alex in her demands for how to act on their intense attraction to one another. This is no one sided affair, but a mutual decision to take advantage of their meeting.
Alas, Libby is only visiting London, so Alex needs to take advantage of their sizzling chemistry quickly, and a highly charged romance is inevitable following a meeting in a hotel bar after the conference, but it’s Libby who takes the lead in what follows as she invites Alex to her hotel room.
Passionate and daring in it’s writing, we follow Alex and Libby as they embark on a heady, sizzling affair with no strings attached, just giving into their passion for each other. The bedroom scenes are fairly explicit, but there is also a sense of a genuine chance of a long term relationship here - there is a good plot basis, and it’s not all about the sex (although Alex and Libby’s initial meeting merely seems a prelude to one of them inviting the other to their room). Indeed, it helps that Alex and Libby’s back stories are told, and the reader can understand why the two of them are like they are, and their fears and mistrust of a long term future with each other.
A well written, escapist, romantic read. I look forward to reading more of J C Harroway’s writing in the future. Mills and Boon describe the Dare series as ‘sexy, passionate, and bold’, and the book is most certainly all three.
Thanks to M&B for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A steamy but hot romantic read set in the corporate world. Libby feels the huge sparks between her and Alex when she has been asked to speak at a conference. He also wants her to work for his charity and she resists his approaches- for a time!
The pages fairly sizzle!

A week to be wild by J.C. Harroway a four-star read that will take you on a wild journey. This was a great read, normally I wouldn’t have picked it up as its mills and boon and I associate those with my step nanna, but do you know what I’m so glad I did, this new line is bringing a whole new steam and heat to the mix. It wasn’t just a steamy read mind, there was also a great story in the mix, Alex and Libby as characters has a great story to them and you felt that they would be going somewhere. Overall a great read and I for one can’t wait for more.

First book I have read from this author and I did enjoy it. The characters were well written and the chemistry between Libby and Alex was there in spades

A Week to be wild is a good enough read to pass a couple of hours but no great depth. Padded out with constant erotic sex scenes which although may suit some readers I prefer a stronger storyline, also ended fairly abruptly, an epilogue would of helped.

Think I need a cold shower after reading this new offering from the Mills & Boon Dare line! They've gone super steamy for 2018 and this was a great start to the series and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The main two characters are perfect - Alex the sexy british billionaire who is used to getting his own way in business and pleasure, and Libby, the american businesswoman who has sworn off men who live life on the edge. But then Alex appears in her life and the spark between them is instant and it really was fascinating to see that spark quickly ignite! She is keen not to be seen as easy but everytime she sees Alex, she finds it more difficult to resist!

They are both quite vulnerable despite their business success and you get to see another side of them halfway through the book as it touches on their pasts, showing a softer side to the characters than the more passionate characters we have seen up until then. But in each other they find kindred spirits who connect - in more ways than one! Alex is used to being in control but Libby has a strange power over him and I think that excites him even more!

This is fabulous escapism in bookish form! It is a very steamy and graphic book and won't be for everyone - not sure my Nan who used to read Mills & Boon would have approved! - but I found it to be an enthralling, sizzling sexy read and I am really looking forward to reading more of the Dare series if they are all going to be this good!

With Mills & Boon new raunchier line, Dare, launching in the new year, I was excited to have the opportunity to read an advance copy of the first book in this much anticipated new series. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed.
One of the things I love about M&B books is how easy they are to get into and how quickly you can whizz through them because you just don’t want to put them down. I didn’t find this with ‘A Week To Be Wild’ and really struggled to get into it. I didn’t connect with the characters easily and there seemed to be little supporting storyline. Almost half way in I did nearly give up, but as it is the first in the new line, I wanted to make sure I gave it a good chance.
The second half of the book did actually improve and although there is a bit of repetition still in certain areas, the characters did seem to become a little more rounded as more of their backstory and their emotions showed. I just wish that this had begun earlier in the book – the characters can hide their emotions from each other but it felt like they were being hidden from the reader too.
I’d certainly be happy to read more in this new line and will be interested to see how others differ.

Olivia Noble has travelled from New York to London to give a presentation about her experience of starting her successful marketing business where she is introduced to Alex Lancaster, who affects her with seismic waves. Libby has reasons of her own to avoid the temptation that’s offered but finds it increasingly difficult to resist, so tries to control the encounter by enforcing her own set of rules.

A hot, passionate, daring story about a billionaire instigating a meeting with Libby, he’s used to getting what he wants and gets her out of her comfort zone. Seductive read.

4.5 Rating
Well, I was right to be excited by the new Dare line!

Though instantly attracted to Alex Lancaster, Libby puts her professionalism ahead of her libido. Alex seems to like a challenge, after all he likes living his life to the fullest, so he isn't giving up on trying to get Libby to work for him for a short time. Libby fails to see how she can possibly work with Alex when he's too much of a temptation, but then Alex shows her the way his business works, also uncharacteristically reveals the importance of his project and that it's personal to him. So with a time limit and some rules set by Libby, making they can mix business with pleasure.

I thoroughly enjoyed JC Harroway's writing! I was instantly invested in Libby and Alex's story and their motivation. What I particularly enjoyed was the way Libby was given control. Not that she's confident and demanding because that isn't the case. But with Alex, who is as alpha and sexy as you can get, Libby holds her own and holds the cards with their brief agreement. I love that she takes charge, that she sets the rules. And I love that Alex lets her! He could easily change the game, crook his finger and totally get what he wants, what they both need, but he doesn't, he holds back and respects Libby's demands.

This story isn't heavy on conflict, making it easier to become consumed in what is a sizzling relationship that deepens throughout the week and explores emotional boundaries and fears. Though the sex and the chemistry between the couple is prominent, the plot is strong enough that it isn't overwhelmed by it and is only enhanced. Both characters are likeable and strong. If this book is anything to go by, I am now even more excited for the Dare line!

JC Harroway is an author I will definitely read more of. A fresh, sexy and enjoyable read!

Exciting Introduction, 4 Stars 🌟
This is my first Ms JC Harroway book and I will be looking out for future releases; yes it was hot and passionate but Ms Harroway’s characters are well rounded and had me engaged from the start.
Both main characters have hidden depths and big hearts and from the start the sparks fly between them; Olivia (Libby) Noble, owns her own successful marketing business in the US and is invited to London to speak at the 'Inspiring Business Leaders of the Future’ seminar. Following her presentation she is introduced to Alex Lancaster, a British billionaire businessman who unbeknown to Libby had instigated her invitation to speak at the seminar, but when it comes to Libby Alex has his own agenda, personally as well as professionally!
Despite the chemistry between them Libby doesn't want to want Alex, although he won't take no for an answer, but Alex is intrigued by Libby so they strike a deal for a “Week”, a week in which they play by Libby’s rules. However, during the week as Alex shows Libby his vision for his charity Able-Active, Libby begins to leave her comfort zone until she is reminded of Alex's daredevil attitude and runs back to the US. Can Alex help Libby to overcome her fear of living and loving to risk her heart and find their own passionate HEA!
A Week to be Wild is an exciting introduction to Ms JC Harroway’s work, I only wished the conclusion of the book could have included something to indicate how Sonya, Rich and baby Amelia's story will end unless there is a book forthcoming with their story?
Fyi I received my copy from Netgalley and Mills and Boon via Mills and Boon Insiders, but this does not influence my opinions as all opinions are my own.
