This story was fantastic! Anne and Hartley were interesting characters whose story developed quit nicely. A must read!

This is a short story of Sabrina Jeffries' series. I love historical romance, especially if it is from a great author like Sabrina Jeffries. The details were just amazing, on point and the sweet little romance between Capt. Corry and Lady Anne. I always get lost in Sabrina Jeffries' world and this was happened to me here too.

Another great book from Sabrina - really enjoyed the characters and the story, and how her writing takes me back to regency England.

This was a fun quick read. I have not read the other stories in the series and do think it would be helpful to understand who everyone was.

I never received this book? This happens often with you; I wish I had. However, I would be thrilled to read it for you.

Great, multi-faceted characters. Very interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. I felt every emotion. Just steamy enough. Kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. Simply a GREAT read!

Overall a decent novella. I would always choose to read a full length Sabrina Jeffries novel but this was still enjoyable.

The Risk of Rogues (Sinful Suitors #5.5) by Sabrina Jeffries
Pocket Star, 2018
Romance (Historical); 100 pgs

Historical romance can be hit and miss for me, but I do enjoy it from time to time. I had heard good things about Sabrina Jeffries and thought this would be a good way to taste test her writing. Lady Anne hasn’t forgotten how Lord Hartley Corry broke her heart years ago. He had fled the country without a word after her father forbade they marry, not even trying to fight for her hand. When he reappears and catches sight of her, he knows it was meant to be—only now she is refusing him. How will he ever convince her he is worth a second chance?

This one was just plain fun. Lady Anne protests a lot despite how easily she finds herself returning Lord Hartley Corry’s affections once he has her in his arms—which happens a lot. The conflict between the two centers around one misunderstanding after another. At a time when men and women often married for fortune, it is no wonder Lady Anne questions Hartley’s motives, especially when he refuses to tell her exactly what he does for a living. Does he even have a reliable job? I enjoyed the banter between the two character and felt the author packed a lot of quality story into a short novella. I will definitely be seeking her work out in the future.

I adore Sabrina Jeffries! This was a novella for the sinful suitors series. It was a fun, quick read. I’m a sucker for a second chance romance, and I’m glad things worked out for Lord Hartley and Anne.

Spys, hats, misunderstandings! A short and sweet addition to this series written as only Jeffries can!

Risk of Rogues follows two past lovers who wind up at the same house party and have to navigate sharing that social space while trying to figure out what went wrong in the past and if they want to resume courtship. Well. SHE has to figure that out, he's pretty much gung-ho straight from the word go.

It's a nice set up and also allows us to catch up on other characters from the series, but the past history of the hero and heroine put me off slightly. The novella is only 95 pages, so there's no room for a whole big thing, but at the same time both characters had...just really weak reasons for why they broke things off in the past. To the point where even a mere 95 pages seemed like an overly long time for her to get on board.

The hero's groveling/big act to prove his love at the end was nice, and very fitting, and as always with Sabrina Jeffries I loved their chemistry and banter. It's a sweet enough story, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone not already invested in the series.

This was a very quick read and a well written second chance story. Lady Anne and Lord Hartley were in love once and manage to forgive each other and find their hearts again.

Lady Anne is shocked when Captain Lord Hartley Corry—her former fiancé who left for India after her father forbade their marriage—returns to England and acts as if everything is all water under the bridge. He never fought for her hand or eloped with her as he promised and he thinks she’d still be willing to marry him? Not a chance.
Nobody writes jilting and redemption like Sabrina Jeffries!! I’m not much of a second-chance romance but I just love the way she writes them. This was a quick read but she still packed a full story in it that I enjoyed. I highly recommend.

This was only disappointing in that I didn't realize it was a novella when I started the book. I was fortunate enough to review an early copy, and once I realized the nature of the story I did thoroughly enjoy it. it's a fast paced read and if you are not familiar with the main characters from earlier books you will likely feel a bit lost. But this is a lovely tale about love renewed, and two individuals who get a chance to find each other again and build a life together

This is a delightful second-chance-at-romance novella. Hartley Corry and Anne fell in love years ago, but their parents forbid the match. Hartley buys a commission and leaves for India while Anne's father inherits a title from a distant relative. When Hartley visits his brother's house for a party he is shocked to see the one woman he still loves at the party. He will do anything to regain her trust and love.

I enjoyed the novella and how Hartley worked to crack the shell that Anne built around herself. This was a great read.

I received a complimentary ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you!

After returning to London almost eleven years later, can a man find the woman he fell in love with years ago. Should he even try? What if she's married? What if she doesn't love him back? A chance meeting at a house gathering, brings two sweethearts back together finding out that love never dies.
A short read, but moves at a steady pace to the HEA.

A very sweet story. I wasn’t expecting it to be a shortie. But at the same time, it wrapped things that had been left open in previous books in the series. Most enjoyable read.

I loved this novella! Such a sweet and charming conclusion to the Sinful Suitors series. Loved seeing Hart’s story brought to a satisfying ending, also that Anne got the happiness she deserves. Classic Sabrina Jeffries - I look forward to her next series of books!

Lady Anne is quite an interesting person. With her outrageous hats and her kind heart the reader will fall in love with her like her Captain Lord Hartley Corry did when they were younger. She guards her heart and though her life situation had changed since she last saw Hart, she's lost her willingness to be open hearted concerning him. Her bluntness in dealing with Hart and Fulkham is not only extremely entertaining for the reader but Fulkham also is quite amused with her.

Hart never got over his loss of his love who was now a lady. In this story Hart realizes so many things would have been different in his life if he made different decisions when he was younger and originally in love with Anne. He is persistent yet allowing Anne space to get to know him again and to hopefully fall in love with him all over.

What Author Sabrina Jefferies does really well is showing what went wrong in the past and why on both of their parts, as well as showing that even the worse situation can change with a heart full of love and the courage to admit your part in the mistakes.

I give it 4 stars for showing readers that there is always hope to overcome devastating errors made in the past and that sometimes being honest means giving up something you also love for something or someone you love more.
