I received this novel from net galley and the publisher for an honest review. Thank you!
This novel was a good ready. Several years ago, Lady Anne and Captain Hartley Corry fell in love and had plans to elope. However, both of their fathers were against the match, Hart being a second son and Anne at the time a merchant’s daughter. Both had preconceived notions about what happened, Anne being angry at Hart for leaving without telling her and Hart not knowing why Anne never replied to his letters. Both meet again and sparks fly, but Anne is still angry with him. Hart is a spy and cannot tell Anne unless she plans on being his wife. Hart has a plan and will recourt Anne. Anne is stubborn and is scared to let Hart have her heart again. Will both be able to accept the person each has become, knowing that the love they had all those years ago still exists as well as a small part of who they both used to be?

A delightful, entertaining and easy read. A well told story with characters who are likeable and colorful.. Sabrina Jeffries paints Lady Anne as a unique character in English society. Captain Lord Hartly Corry is a bit larger than life, but believable for the era of the tale. They share a history which ended badly and reconnect at a weeklong affair his brother's wife is putting on at a hunting lodge. The story begins with an accidental meeting and from there it moves forward at a great pace. Well done.
I enjoyed the lightness of the story and the lack of serious angst. It was fun to read and lightened my day which surprised me. I haven't read much from this author, but I will be looking for her other books.

The Risk of Rogues, is a cute fast pace novella. Hart and Anne's re-courtship is a great idea for a novella. They already know each other, so they just have to find out if they still suit.
