Gabe and Addison have a good thing going in the Big Easy. She's in town for one weekend a month, and he puts his real life on hold to spend that one weekend with her.

Only, it's getting harder and harder to let her go on Monday morning, knowing there are no plans to see one another again, no plans to allow one another into their real lives. And, as this also allows both of them to avoid those real life complications, it works for both of them...or so they tell themselves.

Until Addison moves to New Orleans, and doesn't plan to tell Gabe, because her life is complicated and there's a deal breaker, or so she thinks, and she is afraid to face the idea that what works so well for them on the one weekend per month they see each other may not work on a permanent basis...and she is afraid of getting her heart broken.

We've all been where she is, hiding from something that could be real, and probably already is, because we are afraid of taking the risk and getting our hearts broken in the process. Addison is ready to walk away. The problem, is that Gabe is tenacious and he is going to follow her. He is going to be where she is, and he is going to show her that he fits into her life in NOLA and that instead of complicating it, he makes it whole.

It takes her a bit to get there, and the break up part of the book is in the middle, which I enjoyed. The reader isn't really a part of their weekends in New Orleans, so in order for the emotional investment of the story to work, this is treated almost like a second chance, with a couple of characters with a scorching chemistry and a history...but one that they are having to build from the beginning with a new set of circumstances.

It was a fun read, I enjoyed this title, and I am looking forward to the others in the series!

Absolutely loved this story and I'm excited that it's just the start of a new series from one of my favorite authors. This book is super sexy and fun with a great setting in the Big Easy. Gabe and Addison's relationship may have started out as a once a month booty call but things get real when Addison moves to New Orleans permanently. Since their prior relationship never involved much talking and definitely no personal details they are both surprised to find out they have more in common than either ever dreamed.

Put this one on the must read list, you don't want to miss it. I highly recommend.

This book starts with Gabe and Addison having a no strings attached relationship but surprise! it turns out they want more. Things progress and get hotter and hotter until they're both forced to discuss their relationship and insecurities. You feel their struggle as lovers and as parents. This book will grab you and make you want more. Bonus points for being set in NOLA!

This book was really spicy hot and that's not a New Orleans reference!! At times, I felt like I needed maybe an ice cube, maybe a fan or a good old-fashioned air conditioner. It was definitely steamy. Let's just leave it at that and say that Gabe had it going on. I really found myself leaning more towards him. I don't know why. I just did. This book is for all those who like a little spice in their books. If you like sweet romances with no and I mean no spice...this isn't for you.

I really enjoyed this first book in Nicholas' Boys of the Big Easy series. All of the important elements that make up a story are on point: plot, setting, characters, and pacing. Any books set in New Orleans grab my attention, and Going Down Easy held it until the end. Gabe was sexy and interesting, and so very likable. Addison Sloan is admirable and driven, and a little frustrating. I think since I'm a romantic at heart, it bothers me for characters to know from the get-to that they're not interested in anything long-term. Yes, it creates tension, but it also gets a little long in the tooth. All the same, I really liked this book.

The perfect start to a new series from Erin Nicholas! This story of two single parents was the perfect blend of sexy, fun, serious, and feeling-inspiring. I didn't want to put this book down to do real life things. Ms. Nicholas hasn't done the single parent storyline a lot, which makes this story more real and wonderful to me. Gabe and Addison had opposite outlooks on parenting, but their chemistry was off the charts! So how did they figure it out to get their HEA? You'll have to read it to find out!

Book of revelations. Seriously, we are all doing the best we can but the truth in the matter is, our past dictate how we raise and interact with our own children.

I was into this novel by Erin because I am SO Addison with my oldest two but Gabe with my youngest. So I related to lessons learned and decision made. I will always he there for them regardless. Also, I have the push out the comfort zone because of MY wishes instead of accepting him for him as well. I am a guarded parent and a single one as well so this hit home on a MILLION levels.

Are they permanently in lust or accidentally in love? With a steamy backdrop like New Orleans Nicholas' works her magic. Going Down Easy is meant to be memorable and with a duo like Gabe and Addison, it certainly is. When a booty call becomes the real deal, there are tough choices to be made and long withheld truths to be revealed. If the spice of life serves as the food of the heart, Erin Nicholas' has cooked up a tempting treat.

If you are looking for a really spicy read, than, look no further than this book. Author, Erin Nicholas brings the heat in Going Down Easy. You will need a cool glass of water to cool down after reading this book.

I liked everyone in this book from Addison to Gabe's brother, Logan. Which, I hope that Logan gets his own book. He is a player but I think he just hasn't found the right woman yet. Talk about children who steal the spotlight. This goes to Addison's daughter, Stella and Gabe's son, Cooper. These two brought the charm and smiles.

Back to Addison and Gabe. There was a lot of sex taking place within these pages but I won't expect anything less from this book. Plus, I was fine with it as it was hot. Also, the author did a good job of not just making the story just about sex. There was a nice storyline that went with it. I will read the next book in this series.

Title: Going Down Easy
Series: Boys of the Big Easy Book #1
Stand Alone Title: yes
Author: Erin Nicholas
Genre: Romance
Blurb: Hot fling or real thing? There are no Big Easy answers in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Erin Nicholas’s sultry series.
As far as flings go, single dad Gabe Trahan is pretty sure that Addison Sloan is his best bet. Once a month, Addison comes to New Orleans and then…It. Is. On. Until Addison returns to New York, it’s just hot, happily-no-strings-attached sex. And beignets. And jazz. But lately for Gabe, it isn’t nearly enough.
Sure, maybe Addison’s gotten a bit hooked on Gabe. After all, who can resist a guy who’s so sexy, so charming, and so…available? But maybe he’s too available for her right now. Addison’s just moved to New Orleans, and relationships are definitely off the table. Besides, guys always bail when they learn her secret: she’s a single mom.
Only Gabe’s not running. Worse, he’s thrilled. But Addison never signed up for ever-after romance, and Gabe won’t settle for anything less. Now it’s a battle of wills—and when it comes to the woman he’s falling for, Gabe isn’t above playing a little dirty.
Thoughts: If you happen to be in the mood for a sweet, emotion-grabbing, romance that ties around two single parents trying to find love, this is an amazing book to pick up to get your fix. And not with two barely there children, but kids that feature heavily in the book – and in the romance. This book had the perfect mixture of heat, blended with romance, and topped with reality. Things weren’t always easy, and relationships are about making it work….and wanting to make it work. The characters were great, the kids were endearing, and Erin Nicolas’ writing sends it into ‘amazing’.
This is definitely one to grab!
Rating: A

4 star review Going Down Easy (Boys Of The Big Easy #1) by Erin Nicholas
A single dad story with a difference and one I enjoyed. Erin Nicholas is a new author to me and I am not sure why. Gabe Trahan is a New Orleans single dad who has been having a monthly fling with New Yorker Addison Sloan. Gabe runs a bar with his brother and Addison consults at an architectural firm. They have been having fun and the chemistry between them is off the charts. What happens when Gabe begins to feel that there could be more between them than just a fling even though live so far apart? Or do they?
Unbeknownst to Gabe, Addison has accepted a position in New Orleans which will put her right on his doorstep. Gabe is thrilled when he finds out but Addison realises he could be a danger to her heart and decides to break things off. What transpires is a story of push and pull, give and take and find the courage from within to move out of one’s comfort zone and take a chance on life.
I really fell hard and fast for Gabe but Addison, not so much. In fact it wasn’t until towards the end of the book that I truly warmed up to her. They say opposites attract and Gabe and Addison are certainly opposites in many ways.
The banter and camaraderie between the single parent group attendees as well as the children made for some humorous and at times sad moments. This is the first book in a her new series and I will be checking out the rest as they become available.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley

Erin Nicholas and New Orleans! That's a winning combination: an author I really enjoy and a city I love. Gabe and Addison were quite the combination too, though it was the combination of Cooper and Stella that really stole it. It's a story of opposites in my favorite city (which totally did not get enough attention in this book).

I loved how both Gabe and Addison worked so hard to give their children what they needed. Both were very good and loving parents, which is a rarity. It was especially poignant because temperamentally Gabe and Addison are the opposite of their children and it is often very difficult to parent a child who is so different from you.

I was a bit taken aback by just how emotional and dark this book got at times. I did like how some of the issues were glossed over (Stella's father, Addison's parents, Cooper's mother). They were not really relevant to the story or the messages of the story. This was a blended family in every way it could be: wildly different personalities and desires, no blood relationships but strong and clear loving relationships.

I loved how they all balanced each other out so beautifully and I loved how both Addison and Stella treated Cooper. Cooper is possibly on the autism spectrum, but it's hard to tell because it's never discussed in those terms. Certain personality traits that are commonly associated with the spectrum are discussed a great deal. Both Addison and Stella simply accepted Cooper as he is and that was lovely. The catalyst that changes everything is something that happens to Cooper and I loved how they dealt with it as a family and how clear that really was.

I really liked the secondary characters and while the next book will be Gabe's brother, I really want Caleb's book pronto. The single parents group was just too fun and awesome! By turns sweet and difficult, moody and bubbly even giddy, tender and volatile, Going Down Easy does in fact "go down easy" and it is a wonderful beginning to a new series.

Going Down Easy captivated me from the first page! I ADORED Gabe Trahan the romantic, smooth talking, charming hero. Addison Sloan and Gabe spend one weekend a month together in Gabe’s home town of New Orleans. Their chemistry sizzles from day one. They have sex, eat beignets and listen to jazz and have more sex. They don’t talk to each other between visits and really don’t know that much about each other. Gabe realizes that saying goodbye to Addison is getting harder – and that maybe, just maybe, he is falling for her.

Gabe and his brother Logan have hired Monroe & LeBlanc, an architectural firm to restore Trahan’s, their family tavern. They arrive at the firm for a meeting and Gabe sees Addison in the hallway. Gabe is surprised to learn that Addison has been hired by the firm. And even more surprised to learn that she wants to end their relationship. Addison believes she has the perfect way to send Gabe running—she has a 5 year old daughter. Gabe is thrilled because he has a 5 year old son! I laughed so hard because I could hear the happiness in Gabe’s voice and see the frightened, stunned look on Addison’s face!

I loved Gabe’s determination to win Addison. He wants a happily ever after with Addison. He sends her a basket of pralines and includes an invitation to a single parent support group meeting. Addison is surprised when Gabe enters the room. I loved Gabe’s heartfelt confession to the group and how Addison took it in. Everyone in the room knew Gabe was seeing someone and offered him advice on how to get her back. This scene was well written and I knew, despite what she verbalized, Addison had strong feelings for Gabe.

Erin Nicholas balances Addison and Gabe’s sexy times with the demands and pressures of being a single parent. Addison is raising Stella on her own. She has more of a hands off approach and encourages Stella to try new things. Gabe has entire support system help him raise his son Cooper. He lives with his mom and brother and everyone pitches in for Cooper. Through the parent support group the theme of what makes a good parent is explored. I loved the scene when Cooper snuggled up to Addison at the support group family night and when Stella explained to Addison why she wants to buy Cooper a flashlight. Both scenes were perfectly written and important to the storyline on multiple levels. In my opinion, this storyline choice moves the novel from a good to an excellent read.

Going Down Easy is a sensuous, emotional story infused with love and family. Erin Nicholas successfully blends challenging social concerns with a romantic love story. The fun, fresh honest dialogue and the supporting characters are relatable and add depth to this opposites attract romance. I liked that there were several unexpected plot twists that challenged Gabe and Addison. The conclusion was perfect full of love and surprises!
If you enjoy authors Laura Trentham Debbie Mason and Samantha Chase—you will adore this book! Gabe is my kind of hero—a bigger than life, charming man with blue eyes who does the laundry!

This is a great start to the Boys of Big Easy series!

Gabe and Addison have been having a fling for one weekend a month for the past six months while she's visiting New Orleans for work. When she makes the move to being in NOLA permanently, Addison decides to end her fling with Gabe. Except he's not having it. All the reasons Addison gives for things not working in the long term, Gabe obliterates.

I loved Gabe and I wanted to love Addison but some of her reasons for not wanting to be with Gabe were lame. They could have bonded on their similarities but instead she used them to keep him at an arm's length for a little too long. I loved the support group that Gabe and Addison were a part of and all of the side characters in this story. I was hooked to the story and finished it in one sitting. I'm really looking forward to see what's next in this series!

Going Down Easy is book one in the brand new series, Boys of the Big Easy, by Erin Nicholas. Prepare to fall in love with Gabe, one of two brothers that own their own bar in New Orleans.

Gabe Trahan was smitten with Addison Sloan the first time she walked into his and his brother, Logan’s bar. She went home with him that night and spent the rest of the weekend with him. Then she went home to New York where she was a restoration architect. She had been in New Orleans that weekend consulting with a local firm. Then, one month later, she walked in again. For six months, one weekend a month Addison would walk in to Gabe’s bar. They would spend the weekend having mind blowing sex, and touring the city of New Orleans. Addison loved everything to do with his city.

Addison was finding it harder and harder to say good-bye to Gabe at the end of their weekends. Which was a huge red flag to her. She didn’t want a relationship. She had a busy career and a five year old daughter to raise. So when the firm that she had been consulting with in New Orleans offered her a full time job, she jumped at it to move to the city she had fallen in love with. But she knew that she would have to end things with Gabe.

“Gabe Trahan was the kind of guy that hearts just went a little nuts over. He was funny and sexy and sweet and dirty and confident and charming and gorgeous.”

Gabe was finding himself thinking of Addison constantly between her visits. When he found out she had moved to New Orleans, he was all in. He wanted more from her. She thought he would run for the hills when she told him she had a daughter. But his reaction was just the opposite. He was thrilled, because he also had a child, a five year old son named Cooper. He always wanted to have more children.

These two couldn’t have been more different in so many ways. Addison let her adventurous daughter experience life independently, always knowing her Mom was nearby if she needed her help. She wasn’t a very demonstrative woman and was determined to raise her daughter on her own, by her own rules, not allowing anyone else to have any input in her decisions. Gabe’s son Cooper was very cautious and Gabe tended to be a bit protective of him as a result. Gabe was always touching people, hugging them, showing affection. His easy way was so evident in the way he was with little Cooper. Gabe’s mother and brother helped him to raise his son and Gabe also attended a weekly single parents meeting which gave him a huge support system.

When Addison tries to end things with Gabe, he’s not taking no for an answer. But he will be patient. He finds ways to let her see on her own that allowing he and his son into their lives could work.

I want to stop here and tell you that first, you are going to fall in love with Gabe. He was so sexy and when he was together with Addison, they burned up the pages. They were hot! He had the dirtiest mouth! You are also going to love these two kids. Little Cooper was so precious and Stella was the most adorable little girl. It took me a little longer to warm up to Addison. At first, I didn’t like the way she tried to be so independent. Even though I understood the reasons why. What I really loved, though, was the influence they had on each other. Gabe showed Addison that it was okay to give up a little bit of the responsibility, of the control. To let others in. Little Cooper was so cautious and Stella helped him to be brave.

This was such a feel good, sexy, sweet story and I really enjoyed it. I absolutely loved the ending. I don’t know who the next book will be about but I’m definitely hoping it will be about Gabe’s brother, Logan.

Warning! This book is melt your kindle hot.
I loved it!

Gabe and Addison have a no strings attached relationship but what happens when they both want more? Things get hotter and hotter!

I did think the ending with his son was a bit contrived so I took a star off for that.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Gabe Trahan is a tavern owner and bartender. Once a month, he and Addison Sloan, an architect from Ney York, get together for a weekend fling. In the past, Gabe has not wanted any commitments, but his feelings are starting to change. When he learns that Addison is moving to his hometown in New Orleans, it seems like kismet. Gabe just has to tell her his big secret and maybe she will be willing to take a chance on him.

Addison has no intentions of having a real relationship with Gabe. She broke it off for a very big reason... she is a single mother of a five year old daughter. Imagine Addison's shock when Gabe announces he has a secret too... he is a single father of a five year old boy. Addison is nowhere near prepared to be a mother to another child. She was barely prepared for her own.

Gabe isn't willing to take no for an answer. He knows that he and Addison are meant to be. Gabe just needs to show her how easy it can be if they work together. It helps that Gabe just hired Addison's company to renovate his tavern, and that Addison is now a part of his single parents' support group. Find out what happens in GOING DOWN EASY.

I give author Erin Nicholas's GOING DOWN EASY 3.5 stars. **SPOILERS** It was really close to 4 stars for me, but the thing with Gabe at the end kind of turned me off a little. I understand him wanting to take care of his son on his own, but it seemed like this should have happened before he and Addison had all but agreed to they wanted to be together. Overall, I enjoyed GOING DOWN EASY. Gabe and Addison are perfect for one another. I enjoyed the sexy banter and steamy moments between them. It was clear from the beginning, although they didn't know it, that they felt love and affection for each other. Their children really add something much-needed to the story. Cooper and Stella stole my heart. Gabe and Addison have a ready-made family. They just have to get past a few insecurities to get their happy ending. I cannot wait to read Ms. Nicholas's next installment in the BOYS OF THE BIG EASY series.

Going Down Easy is by one of my favorite contemporary romance author, Erin Nicolas (the other author is her best friend Samantha Chase).

GDE is the beginning of Erin's new series (Boys of the Big Easy) . Gabe is a single dad who sees Addison once a month when she visits New Orleans for business. The relationship is perfect for both these hard working people. Until Addison is offered a job in NOLA and accepts. She isn't sure what to do about her casual you-know-nothing-about-me relationship with Gabe but he, on the other hand is thrilled.

What's holding Addison back and why can't she commit to an obviously great guy?

Thanks so letting me read this book. Can't wait to interview Erin on my radio show.
