I received this ARC for a honest review from NetGalley. I have read a few Erin books so I knew I was getting a good book.. I didn't want this book to end. The story was so good. Gabe and Addison are my new heartbreaking,love couple. There was a few spots I had tears in my eyes.. There was a few spots I also blushed in. I felt their struggle to become people and parents both. The sexy couple have become a new favorite.

Going Down Easy is written by Erin Nicholas and is the first instalment of the Boys of the Big Easy series. Gabe Trahan and Addison Sloan are not even the cliched friends with Benefits. Instead they meet up once a month in Gabe's bar in New Orleans and have a Night of hot sex. This has been going on for 6 months when Addison has been over from New York to work as an architect. Neither knows the other had a 5 year old child - Gabe has a son called Cooper, Addison a little girl called Stella and both are single parents. Addison is moving to New Orleans to work there full time and so tries to break up with Gabe.

Gabe tries to persuade Addison to stay with him. Addison and Gabe have very different parenting styles. Addison is independent Nd has no support structures and likes to be in control. Gabe lives with his mother and his whole family help him raise his son. Will they be able to successfully blend their families and have a future together?


This novel successfully combines a hot romance and the difficulties of being a single parent, highlighting the difficulties of trying to combine the two successfully. Nicholas also successfully sets the scene for the other books in the series.

GOING DOWN EASY is by far the best book I have read this year. Set in New Orleans, one of my favorite cities, it is fun to read about hot lovin, pralines, magnolias, listening to Jazz on a balcony along with meeting the challenges of single parenting. Addison is good for Gabe, Stella is good for Cooper. After a few ups and downs these characters will grab your heart. Gabe and Addison learn they are better together than alone.

This is the first book that I have read by Erin Nicholas. I have to say that it was a really really great read. It tugged at all my heartstrings and I think every emotion that I could have. I absolutely loved Gabe and Addison as a couple. They complimented each other so well. They were both different in personality and how they did things but that didn't matter at all because they just fit together perfectly.Then you add in Cooper, Gabe's son and Stella, Addison's daughter and the fit just got better. It was like reading about a puzzle where pieces were missing and then the pieces were found and the puzzle just worked. Reading about these people and seeing the different struggles they each were having and how each of them handled things so different. Reading about the fears that they had was such an emotional roller coaster. Erin Nicholas did such a great job about telling a story about 2 singles parents learning how to be parents and at the same time learning how to let other people in. This book melted my heart and I cannot wait until the next book in this series. I can promise you that this book will grab you and it will not let go. To me this book was a 5 plus star read. Going Down Easy, by Erin Nicholas is an enjoyable contemporary romance, and it's the first book in the Boys of the Big Easy series.

Once a month for the past six months, Gabe Trahan has spent a sexy no-strings-attached weekend with Addison Sloan. Even though they've kept the personal details to a minimum, Gabe wants a real relationship with her, yet Addison is prepared to end it.

Since Addison is moving from New York to New Orleans, she doesn't believe in the success of a permanent relationship with Gabe, especially since previous men in her life have abandoned her...once they discover her five-year-old daughter. However, Gabe has a five-year-old son! When he discovers that Addison has a daughter and that they've moved to his town, he is ready to move forward and commit.

Throughout the story, Gabe and Addison focus on their serious mutual attraction, yet struggle with various aspects of dating, parenting, and rebuilding a family together. Gabe and Addison's two young kids are absolutely adorable and positively enhance the story. I loved reading this book, and I'm looking forward to future books in this series.

Going Down Easy is highly recommended and geared towards those who are interested in modern romances with a focus on family.

Gabe had definitely taken being a dad in stride. His family was there to help him pick up the pieces and their support was something he treasured. Meeting Addison slowly became something more. Every month he look forward to her visit and each experience was something he would always remember. Addison tried to do it all not relying on anyone else as she raised her daughter. Meeting Gabe would require her to change her life. A blended family was something she never could imagine. Would it be everything she could possibly want or did she need to cut her losses early. Great chemistry between the characters and how a relationship requires you to give and take to make it all work out.

This was the first book I've read by Erin Nicholas and I must say - the writing was solid. It's smart and engaging and I was immediately sucked into the story.

It was also, however, pretty uneven for me. As good as the writing was, the storytelling was spotty sometimes. There were parts I really really liked - the family dynamics (Gabe's relationship with his family, and the dynamic between Gabe, Addison and the kids). I almost loved the love stories between the parents and the kids more than the love story between Gabe and Addison. And the relationship between the kids themselves? Completely adorable and heartwarming.

Gabe and Addison didn't entirely work for me though. I felt like there was a lot of telling and not as much showing as I would have liked. I felt like there was a lot of sex given how short this book was, and I would have liked more emotional depth, I think. And then, sometimes, They're sexy as all get out, make no mistake, but I didn't feel their relationship in my heart, and I really missed that.

In the end, it was a fast-paced, sweet storyline. Gabe and Addison drove me crazy sometimes, but their adorable children completely stole the show. I liked what I read here enough enough to want to read the next book in the series. The secondary characters were fun and intriguing, and I feel like the series has a lot of potential, so I will definitely be back for more! ~ Shelly, 3 Stars

Going Down Easy by Erin Nicholas was an easy, romantic read. While romance was the overall theme of the novel children, families, and single parents play a HUGE role it. I felt like some of the romance was almost rushed and instead replaced by a ready-made family. But even feeling that way I enjoyed the novel. It was a light read perfect for the beach.

Gabe knows how to get his point across with very little words, “no.” The single word from Gabe was delivered low and firm. Everyone swiveled to look at him, but his eyes were locked on Caleb." Gabe holds nothing back, “it’s probably totally inappropriate, but seeing you holding my son and talking about alligators has made me harder than I’ve ever been. I would do anything to hike up this pretty sundress and bury myself inside you right now.” I loved this book, I loved Addison and Gabe and how they handled their kids.

Going Down is the first book in the Boys of the Big Easy series. Overall, I enjoyed this book, but I took a while to warm up to Addison she was a bit hard to like. In saying that this is a promising start to a new series with a good character and a well written storyline. I look forward to reading more of this series and this author.

This book I struggled with a little at the beginning. The reason was Addison. She liked things as a fling and then used her daughter as an excuse to end things. She thought Gabe would run for the hills when he found out she had a child. That seems a little harsh! And then she was mad upset when he didn't.

Just made me struggle to get through it, and when I did, the story was good again. But to be honest, I almost didn't finish the book because of it.

Enjoyed this book, I like the chemistry between Gabe and Addison, and the slight twist on their unconventional relationship made this an engaging read for me, I couldn't wait to find out how Gabe was going to convince Addison to explore the possibility of a relationship instead of the current arrangement they have.

This book was so much more than I expected. Strong characters with strong desires, family, entertainment and lots of laughter. Gabe and Addison have a weekend fling everytime she is in New Orleans. Gabe thinks he's having feelings for her and is shocked to learn that she has moved to New Orleans and decided to break it off. Addison has a daughter and thinks Gabe will head for the hills when he finds out, but when he doesn't and it turns out he has a son the same age, they decide to give it a try. Nice quick read.

Erin is a new writer for me, but as this book was set in New Orleans I thought I would give it a try and I was not disappointed.

Addison is an architect who lives in New York and visits New Orleans once a month for work. Gabe owns a popular tavern in the city which is where they met six months ago. They have fun weekends together, great sex, exchange very little personal information and afterwards Addison flies home. It's just a fling for both of them, no contact between visits and definitely no commitment. The perfect situation until Gabe begins to want more.

At the same time, Addison has accepted a permanent job in New Orleans and has moved to the city without telling Gabe.. Now is the time to break it off because now she is in the city she can no longer spend weekends with him. Unfortunately Addison is not able to sneak away as she wants to because her new employer has been hired by Gabe and his brother to renovate their bar.

What was a simple fling has now become very complicated. Both have secrets and feelings but are afraid to share them. How they manage to overcome their fears and deal with their problems and emotions makes for a really heart-rending story. Thank goodness for the happy ending! If you are looking for something a little different this is a great book I loved it!

This story was truly great. I really absolutely loved it. It stars Gabe and Addison, who have been meeting once a month for sex since they met when she comes to town. But she has to dump him, now that she is moving to town. Why? because she is a single mom and she has no desire for a daddy for her daughter or a relationship.

Meanwhile Gabe is a single dad but he has a lot of help and he thinks it will be wonderful to add Addie and Stella to his family. This story is about Gabe, who really likes/lusts/loved Addie and how he convinces her to give him and his son a chance and it was wonderful.

Okay so at first I didn't like Addison too much. But I think that was the feeling that the author was going for. Because as the book goes on I totally fell in love with her character, as well as Gabe's and their kids. Plus as an added bonus, there are two different parenting types with really good advise throughout for young children.

Going Down Easy is the latest swoon-worthy romance from author Erin Nicholas. Told from dual points of view, Going Down Easy follows the story of Gabe and Addison. When Gabe and Addison first got together, it was just supposed to be for one night. However, one night quickly turned into a fun, flirty, no strings-attached fling. No promises of tomorrow, just mind blowing sex. Gabe and Addison have had the best time together, and lately Gabe has been feeling like he needs more. He wants a real relationship with Addison, not just a romp in the bed...Addison won't admit this, but she's pretty hung up on Gabe. I mean, he is completely irresistible. However, Gabe wants things that Addison is quite ready for. She's had a lot of major changes in her life lately and isn't ready to take on a relationship of any kind. You see, Addison has a secret she's been keeping from Gabe and she knows once she tells him, he'll run for the hills...Or will he? Will Addison take a chance on a once in a lifetime romance with Gabe or will her fears ruin everything?? There's only one way to find out...

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked on Gabe and Addison from the very beginning. I thought the chemistry between the two of them was explosive and I was really excited to see where their story would go. Now, I'm not gonna lie to you, Addison did make me a little batty in the beginning. I hated the way she tried to push Gabe away when he wanted more. But, I did understand where she was coming from. She never planned on being on a mom and had a hard time accepting when it happened to her. She quickly found herself raising a child all on her own with no outside help at all. So, when Gabe came around and turned out to be a single parent as well, I think that really threw her for a loop. As much as she loves her daughter, she wasn't looking to add anymore children into the mix. So, being with Gabe went against her plan.  However, Gabe wasn't so easily deterred. This man knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. He had insecurities when it came to love and parenting just like everyone else. But, he knew that what he had with Addison doesn't come around that often, so he was willing to fight and prove to Addison that he was worth the risk.

Going Down Easy is a fun and flirty romance. I loved the characters and found them very easy to relate to. I loved watching Gabe and Addison figure things out and overcome their fears. Addison learned that it was ok to depend on someone else, while Gabe learned that it's awesome to have support, but he's fully capable of doing it all on his own. These two characters grew a lot throughout their story and it was joy to watch their romance come full circle. I really enjoyed reading this book and getting lost in the story this author has written.

Addison is a single mother and an architect. She lives in New York and once a month comes to New Orleans for business meetings. She meets Gabe, a bartender and one hot lover. She moves down there and finds out Gabe has a son the same age as her daughter. She doesn’t want anyone else in Stella’s life. Gabe wants the kids to meet but Addison doesn’t want another child to have to depend on her. The closer they get she realizes having another adult around might not be so bad. Gabe finds out some things about his son and moves out of his moms house and tries to do it on his own. But he pushes Addison away in the process. Can Gabe and Addison work through their differences and be a happy family?

I’ll be honest I didn’t like Addison until near the end. She thought she was supposed to be Supermom and not have anyone help her. Gabe just wanted a chance with her. Loved the kids. Sex was hot.

Gabe and Addison have been meeting once a month for sex with no strings because they don't want a long distance relationship, or really a relationship of any kind. When Addison moves to Gabe's city things change and they have to decide if they want to be together or not. Enjoyable red hot romance.

This book is a light read about Gabe and Addison , it was an OK read if there's more in the series I'd probably read them! I recommend it but it wasn't my favorite. Thank you netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!!
