Isabella is a strong willed and loyal woman that knows her own mind and go after what and who she want. she want Wulf and she made sure she got him even though he didn't have much to offer her. Wulf didn't want to be with Isabella because she was his brother's fiancee so he left but had to come back when his family needed him. Happy ending all round....

Good concept, but the story just didn't live up to expectations.
The main characters weren't powerful enough for the story.
The other characters helped the story along, but it wasn't really to my taste.

This beautiful is the first of no doubt many that I will read by Elizabeth and I truly hope we read more in the very near future about our Heroes and Heroines siblings.

As always I will not give spoilers but I will say that even with the constraints of a maximum word count there are most definitely lots of twists and turns in this story that keep you wanting to read on and investigate more.

The characters are likeable and the plot is very readable, but I lost some interest when couples from previous novels all began to appear. I had not read any of these stories and found that they over complicated matters and pulled focus as I tried to follow the connections between characters and their backstories. Also, the crime at the centre of the second half of the novel was left unresolved, with no indication given that it was to be concluded in another book but I assume that must be the author’s intention. If I read these stories as a series I would probably have enjoyed it more, it does not work as a standalone story.

A forbidden kiss, a feisty heiress and a family divided by secrets, make this Regency romance and entertaining read.
With lots of plot twists, a heroine and hero who practically combust when they are in the same place and a scandalous family tragedy, this story is different from the usual Regency romances of debutantes and rakes but still retains a believable historical setting and a lovely conflicted love story.
Isabella's cruel childhood makes her self-reliant and stubborn, she respects her older siblings advice but knows her mind. Wulf 's childhood memories are mostly bad. Shunned by polite society, he lives up to his rakish reputation until his serendipitous meeting with Isabella. Their romance is an enticing mix of innocence and sensuality, but Wulf won't risk Isabella's reputation despite her provocation, and their love seems doomed before it takes flight.
A gentle paced story with a few unusual plot twists, one of which remains unanswered, perhaps for another story? I liked the two main protagonists. The cast of family characters adds depth to the story without detracting from its romantic focus. Intertwined with historical detail, which sets the scene but doesn't slow the pace, it's perfect if you fancy a romantic Regency tale with a mysterious twist.
I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

“You should not trust me…I’m a wolf in wolf’s clothing.”

Heiress Isabelle Alstone has never dreamed of marrying for love, and instead finds herself betrothed to her friend Magnus Haile purely for convenience.
On the night of their betrothal ball, Isabella steps out on to the balcony for some air and finds herself meeting and kissing a handsome stranger who later turns out to be Wulf FitzDevelin, Magnus’s illegitimate half-brother. No one, apart from Isabella and Wulf, knows about the passionate interlude on the balcony, but the consequences are about to be life changing for both.
Following this, the action moves forward six months, and we learn that Isabella is no longer betrothed to Magnus, and that Wulf is recently returned from a voyage across the Atlantic and back (a trip it transpires he took as he couldn’t stomach the idea of Isabella being married to his brother, although he feels his background rules him out as suitable husband material). Finding Magnus in poor health, and thinking it is due to the end of his engagement, Wulf visits Isabella to ask her to reconsider her betrothal due to Magnus’s health, but Magnus then arrives with the shocking news that his father has been murdered.
Naturally, Isabella is not going to marry Magnus (and it turns out the split is not what made him ill), and we begin to follow Wulf and Isabella as they skirt around their mutual attraction in the face of several obstacles (not least, the aftermath of the murder) that seem to be in the way of their happy ending.
Wolf and Isabella are both well written, likeable characters, and there is a clear sense that they are well suited to each other, and their unconventional road to the altar is enjoyable as they fight their attraction to each other, and the plot is quite pact and has some interesting scenes as we deal with the fall out from the murder, Wulf’s parentage (where it turns out all is not as it seems), and the real reason for the end of Magnus and Isabella’s betrothal. Indeed Isabella is much more suited to Wulf that she is to Magnus, and Wulf’s eventual realisation that he is in love with Isabella in a very honest conversation with his brother is one of the highlights of the book.
Whilst I enjoyed the story, and it is a good, easy going escapist read, I did feel the story lost its way slightly in the middle - it would have perhaps made the plot more interesting if Wulf and Isabella had been spotted kissing - and the murder of the Earl seems to be essentially glossed over with no mention of anyone being held responsible. Similarly Magnus’s story seems unfinished, and maybe this is to be explored in a future book.
Thankfully, the last third of the book picks up the pace with some excellent scenes between Wulf and Isabella and the ending is an excellent conclusion for the two characters who deserve their happy ending.

A Wedding for the Scandalous Heiress is a standalone book by Elizabeth Beacon.

The blurb of the book is very cleverly written because it doesn't give away any of the secrets this book has to tell. Does Isabelle break off her engagement because she has had a passionate encounter with another man, or is there another reason, hmmm?

Will she and Wulf be able to have a future together, highly unlikely considering he is an illegitimate son, and also the half-brother of the man Isabelle was going to marry!

Dire circumstances bring Wulf, Isabelle and her ex-fiance Marcus back together. What will happen when they are all together again?

I really enjoyed this book even though one thing was left unresolved which I had hoped would be answered. I can't say what without giving spoilers. I loved how Isabelle and Wulf had so many obstacles in their path, it seemed impossible for them to end up together. Did they? Or did she end up with Marcus? Both he and Wulf are nice men and it's a shame that one of them ends up on his own. You definitely have to read this book, so much is going on, there are twists and turns, and of course a happily ever after.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

3.5 Stars
When Isabella Alstone receives a shockingly passionate kiss from a handsome stranger at her betrothal ball, she scandalously ends her engagement. She is even more surprised when she discovers exactly who the stranger is! Ruggedly striking Wulf FitzDevelin is illegitimate, penniless, and her ex-fiancé’s half-brother their match is wholly unsuitable. Yet Isabella cannot escape the burning longing to feel his touch again.
An enjoyable read but I found it very run of the mill & at times my attention wandered & I also found myself skimming sections. The characters were interesting but I didn’t really relate to them, the story was more plodding than engrossing & I think in a couple of weeks time I won’t remember the characters. I’d certainly read more from the author.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
