I enjoyed this book although I felt it was aimed at people a lot younger than me. I am a Millennial (just about!) but I didn't really relate to Iain's musings although his anecdotes were amusing. I haven't watched Love Island but I feel I would have enjoyed this book a lot more of I had.

This book gave me a much needed laugh. I love his sense of humour and way of putting things.
I shared a lot of this book with my daughters.
Funny read.

Was ok, bit overlong, things overexplained. I don’t watch Love Island, would maybe have appreciated this more if did

As a member of the generation x era I found this book very amusing. My children are millennials and reading this gave me a hilarious insight into what I had already perceived about them. Thoroughly recommend. My only negative comment would be that it bounced around alot, and definitely didn't need the interview sections from YouTubers.

This book is not aimed at me in any way at all. However, I like to read and I like funny people, therefore, I figured that I'd give this book a go, which in itself was unusual as I rarely find books that are supposed to be funny, funny.

I'm glad I gave this a go though. I really, actually "lol'd" at bits of this.

Not ready to adult yet is one of the funniest memoirs/ life lesson books I have read, I was constantly getting weird looks when reading this book in public with the loud laughter!

Iain makes every single thing even if it is sad, dam well hilarious! He has the ability to share some home truths without being too preachy and has been on many adventures that would happen in the average 'millennial' life along with some that seem could only just happen to him.

The interviews with other people especially his mum definitely add to the book and add a depth I wasn't expecting from a book with the author riding a scooter on the cover.

I would definitely recommend Not Ready to Adult yet or anyone who . . . . no just anyone it was that good!

It's been far too long since I put pen to paper (or actually fingers to keyboard) and wrote a review, but I need to shout from the rooftops about this book! I've seen Iain Stirling do stand up, and found myself hooked on Love Island this year, thanks mostly to his running commentary, so I was looking forward to reading his first book...and it was even better than expected!

If you already know of Iain's work you will already know how incredibly funny he is to listen to, but would this translate over to the written word? The answer - Hell yeah!

Not Ready To Adult Yet takes the reader behind the scenes of Iain growing up as a millennial, and navigating the path to adulthood. There are lots of anecdotes that remind us that growing up is not plain sailing, and as well as giving the reader lots of laughs there are some important messages there too.

I am older than the target audience of this book (being part of Generation X rather than a millennial) but it resonated heaps with me too. Things are totally different to when I was entering adulthood, with no mobile phone, a dial up internet connection that would take forever, and knowing my best friends number off by heart from dialling it daily. But whether you are a millennial or not doesn't matter. This book is for all to read and enjoy!

The stories are brilliantly funny, but at the same time give food for thought and reflection about our own lives and what we judge as success or failure, how we make decisions and whether we are all becoming totally self obsessed and consumed. Iain has really put thought, and research into his work, which takes this away from an autobiography and into another realm where he uses his own experiences to question what we do, why we do it, and whether sometimes we should do things differently.

Be warned, if you are a fan, you may, like me, read the entire book in the voice of Iain Stirling which brings it even more to life. infact, the audio copy will be a brilliant listen if reading isnt your thing.

I admit, the book was more than I expected as it had that extra dynamic to just recounting tales of past experiences. I particularly enjoyed the section where he describes a holiday and cookies - a story that had me in fits of laughter.

Young, old, adulting, or not ready to, go buy this book - you won't regret it! Just be prepared to laugh lots whilst also pondering life and your decisions.

Enjoy!!

This book was not really aimed at me. It was an interesting read: I am a Baby Boomer with children straddling Gen X and Millennials.

It was interesting to read and it probably sums up one of my sons. It seems so full of angst and I just want to say 'pull yourself together and get on with it'.

I think that is a generational thing, however and it may well appeal to Millennials as summing up their life experience.
I would probably give it 2.5 stars but I'm sure that Millennials will view it differently.

Insightful, frequently hilarious book about possible (and plausible) reasons why the Millennials are 'not ready to adult yet', and what 'adulting' really means.

I am a huge fan of Iain Stirling and find him hilarious on love island however I was slightly disappointed with this book. Unfortunately Iain swore profusely throughout the whole book which I found unnecessary, I also didn't find it as humorous as I imagined. Not sure I would recommend this book.

What can I say about this book. It seems to be a running gag to have a celebrity write a book that will offer some kind of meaning of life in a humorous style and show us his road to adulthood. Well, this is another one that tries to do this but leaves the reader cold with his self-proclamations in his millennial world.

The novel tries to be witty and although one very occasionally cracks a smile there really was a lack of talent. I am not saying that Ian Stirling is untalented but I am saying that his talent for writing a humorous book based on his growing up experiences, tends to be considerably lacking. The book meanders from point to point and with his sardonic views it seems that he wants you to either laugh at his inadept way in the world or we are laughing at him due to his inability to carry on with is version of life. Unfortunately, this book does not deliver on any of these platforms.

It seems that sometimes publishers are looking for the next celebrity to produce a novel to sell on the back of the brand name instead of the talent for writing a novel. I am not sure if Ian Stirling is a brand name at this point in his career but if people stay away from this book, he may be able to become a household name based on his other bodies of work.

Inept look on life from a person who identifies with a market that maybe the market that has been left behind in the book world. Of course, I may have suffered from the inability to self identify into this world but found myself frozen in a world that seems to lead itself in a self indulgent personality that puts himself above the environment that he inhabits.

I really wanted to like this book and am sure it would be a great stand up routine. I expected Iain Stirling to be as hilarious through the pages as he is in the flesh but unfortunately if you are not a millennial, just move on. In fact, even if you are a fan of his witty comments on love island, you can pretty much move on too.Don’t get me wrong: this book is funny-ish and gives you quite an interesting insight to his coming up as the character more known for his voice than his performance on children’s tv but it still fails at hitting the right haha spots you are hoping for at the turn of each page.

I found this book absolutely hilarious! I am a big fan of Iain Sterling anyway but as I usually only read fiction I was not sure about reading a non fiction and requested it on the author alone and I'm so glad I did. Completely relatable and brought back so many childhood memories. Absolutely brilliant!

Was really looking forward to reading a book by Ian Stirling- as I think he’s hilarious on love island and I have grown up watching him on CBBC. However, to say this book ruined my childhood impression of him is an understatement. I believed the writing would be funny- which it was in parts- but the humour was destroyed by Stirling’s constant need to swear. Every other word seemed to be awful language. I struggled on with the book, and eventually I had to stop reading as the language (and crude content) became too much. The humour fizzled out too, and became rather factual for a comedian. This is a real shame, as I do love his humour

Wanted to read this book cos I love listening to his voice overs, I can honestly say I laughed from begining to end.

Iain is a former CBBC presenter and voice of Love Island currently but also a comedian, for those who don't know.

I thought I'd try his book after it's about us almost adults, those my age in our early twenties onwards whom some of us still live at home and some have moved out, if you can afford it that is as Iain rightly points out at one point!

The book was funny, it made me laugh a lot and had some bizzare and some truthful points in it too.

Hearing about Iain's family life growing up also makes me realize that each family has a struggle of one form or another too, in this case holiday destination, I remembered many points made from the Jedward in Bath CBBC show that aired ai watched years ago the joy of Nokia 3310 and how they've been relaunched now as well as they joy of dial up internet, Bebo and Panic! At The Disco whom are still going after never ending line up changes all these years on and their latest album was even in my local Tesco when before we'd have been lucky to find it in HMV. There's a Flower Pot Men reference, Pop Idol, Busted, disposable camera's and the awkward joy of getting films developed and printed by someone in a shop as well as an explanation of government simple enough for me to understand simply why houses here now cost the Earth, I will never be a homeowner yet thanks to Iain I see that years ago, things were easier to afford that way!

It was very well written and you can tell a comedian has written it as the style of language used makes you laugh deliberately at points made. I loved hearing about the good and bad as well as the down right hilarious bizzare situations he's found himself in at times and I would recommend it to anyone!

Perhaps best known for being the voice of Love Island, Iain Stirling is a Scottish comedian and this is his first book. It's mostly about the fact he doesn't feel like an adult yet and has a bit of background about his career in it. I read this in under a day and found it to be a very pleasant read with some amusing anecdotes and I wouldn't say you need to know much about him in order to enjoy it.

A laugh out loud book to make you smile. Thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish. I wonderful incite into being a ‘millennial’. Whatever that is or isn’t
