This is the first book I have read by this author but was very disappointed. The story seem to go on forever

Great start to a novel by Paige Toon, never read a novel by her before so this was a great way to introduce myself to her style of writing. It was an amazing start and definitely made me want to read on! Will definitely purchase the full novel

Oh I do love Paige toon books and this one will not change that.
It seems that there's a different style in this book rather than her usual summery chic lit...
It's only a sample and by the time you finish the sample read you have to wait for the whole book.. . How will I cope.
Excellent reading about Nell and Vial and how they become entwined as they one once. Top marks for the sample book.

I love Paige Toon. She's my favorite author. Naturally, I am very excited about her upcoming novel Five Years From Now and couldn't resist reading the sampler to it. Right away, I could tell this book is going to be different from her others. Her best work yet? I can't say without reading the whole thing, but it's definitely interesting reading about a relationship that developed at such young age. Not sure how I feel about the third person style, but as long as it's Paige, I'm gonna go for everything she gives us. Again, I'm really excited about reading about Nell and Vian's whole life. I think this rarely happened before with any of Paige's author novels. Teenagers, sure, but kids the age of five?! I doubt it. This whole stepbrother/stepsister thing might also be something to look forward to. Gaaaaah, I need it to be May now. Give me this book right now, I don't want to wait!

If this sampler is anything to go by, this is going to be another massive hit for Paige Toon! As one of my favourite authors I wait with baited breath for her books to be published, and bump them right up to the top of my reading pile. This is going to be no exception. I can already tell this is a book I am going to fall head over heels in love with. Beautifully crafted, with characters who are already connecting with me and whom I sense I am going to transport me into another world whilst I am reading. And what a place to end the sampler...I can't believe I wont find out what happens for almost 2 months now...hurry up publication day!!

I love Paige Toon, she is one of my favourite writers. This book is no exception, Paige has run a parallel with an old fashioned fairytale here, there’s a “sliding doors” thing going on which I enjoyed. Nell and Van meet very young in life and then keep meeting as the years pass, this traces their stories, their feelings for each other, life and their own circumstances and give us, as readers, a unique perspective on the “what if” aspect. The story, the dynamics, the descriptive narrative are utterly absorbing and I will def8nitely read this again.

the extract i read of this novel was beautifully written by Paige Toon. to summarise, its about a mother looking back at her childhood in Cornwall. i loved the setting and artsy vibe given by this novel and i was intrigued about the family setting which consisted of the father, step mother and step brother. at the end of the sampler there was a cliffhanger and it made me want to read more, therefore i plan to purchase this book upon its release.
i would recommend this novel to anyone that enjoys a light read with a beautiful setting.
four/five stars, would recommend

Fantastic little taster.
Paige is a master of family dynamics and intricate relationships and I can feel come deliciously complicated story lines coming on.
Can't wait to read the rest!

I just love picking up the latest book by Paige Toon as you just know how incredible it will be. Five Years from now starts so brilliantly and it sounds like its going to be an emotional one! I love these characters and I just want to see if they can get past all the hurdles and finally be together forever and be happy!

This ARC is a sampler which feels really mean because I have to wait til May to read it properly.
The idea that good can come from bad, and sometimes things are meant to be is a classic fairy tale, but in the real modern world hopefully it can still happen.

Whilst I love a sampler, I do wish they were longer say the length of a book 😂.
Nell is sharing a story with her 15 year old son who has broken his ankle. She is sharing the story of her childhood with her step brother, Vian, and their childhood in Cornwall. The setting is beautiful and I can’t wait to continue the full story

Firstly I have to mention I haven’t had Paige’s writing in my life for long but each story has left me longing for more. I know I have been slack on some of her reviews. Usually because I have had a book hangover after. Leaving me distraught and unable to do her fantastic writing the justice it deserves.

So...Five Years from Now.…how truly gorgeous is the cover. I said that when I first saw it but I was sharing another cover reveal and knew I would have a chance to mention it. The line ‘What if you met the right person at the wrong time?’ Was a massive clue in the fact I knew this will be a book I fall headfirst in love with.

Then Paige puts up that Netgalley have a sampler, when I saw this it was late at night I managed a page or two but as I say my work/life balance is well and truly messed up right now. So this morning whilst drinking a few cups of tea with my cornflakes I devoured these pages.

Paige you have a way of me connecting with each and every character and in terms of the sampler. I did not see the drama coming and I’m still clueless to how bad it is. It ended so dramatically I physically cannot wait for more. Roll on 17th May – yup that’s the date that this bad boy is out. Pre order now I do think I’m going to end up with the ebook and an actual book as this lovely lady will be coming to Bluewater on the 19th also.

I will love re-reading the beginning of Nell and Van’s story. The innocent love of childhood friendships and how truly innocent and heartwarming children are. The little things that seem like a big deal and the love of being kind. I’m pleased to say both of my beautiful nieces are truly kind and full of such love – it also helps that they are already bookworms.

I love how even at the dramatic anticlimax that Netgalley has left me with both Nell and Van didn’t want to go through that alone. It well and truly melted my heart. I know this novel will be devoured in a quick time frame and it will stay with me. This is going to be one hell of a hangover without a single drop of alcohol.

I have only read the sampler but this book will have you taking trips down your own memory lane and it will truly get under your skin. I need to know now!!!!

I am a big fan of Paige Toon's novels and I have been looking forward this new one since she announced it. From the samples I read it seems a compelling and captivating novel and I already started shedding a few tears. I can't wait to read the rest of the novel.

Nooooooo!!! How silly of me not to realise this was a sampler. A mere taster to whet my appetite. How can I possibly wait another two months???

I was drawn in from the opening paragraph. Nell and Vian first meet when they are five years old when her father falls in love with his mother and Nell is visiting for the Summer. Next time we catch up with them is five years later when Nell’s mother has moved to France and she is living permanently with her father, Vian and his mother. They are as close as any brother and sister, however tragedy is looming.

I can’t tell you any more than that as that is where the sampler ends. You can see why I am frustrated and may need to go into hibernation until the book is released in May. The countdown is on ....!

Review: Thanks to NetGalley I was able to get hold off a sample of this up coming novel by one of my favourite authors Paige Toon. 

Five Years From Now had me hooked by the end of the first sentence. Strong characters carry the plot and flows making reading easy and hard to stop. Nell and Van's relationship is going to be very interesting to follow. I can not wait to read the full book. 

Watch out this will be the smash hit of 2018!
