I was unaware of Terry Waite as author. My bad. His interest in solitude is understandable. Interesting read.

There will be few people better qualified than Terry Waite to write about solitude and I was very keen to read this book. Beautifully written and thought-provoking, this sensitive account is exactly what you would expect from a man of his experience and standing.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.

Sorry but really didn’t like this book. I thought it rather poorly written. Some of the people he spoke to about solitude were interesting but really why was he visiting Myra Hindley. He could have spent some time walking over Ilkley moor and felt the solitude of such a bleak lonely place. After all Keith Bennett had spent decades alone up there.

Great to read about Terry Waite. He was captured when I was a young girl. But i had been fasinated by the story and was so happy he had been released alive. Really enjoyed reading his latest book. It had a great insight into his life and how its changed since he was in solitude. You can only imagine what it was like being plunged into another world that most of us can only imagine.
