This book was an unexpected surprise. Not many books start out with the man knowing he wants his lady and will do anything to have her. When Sarah agrees to marry James to save her family from the debt's of her father, she doesn't expect to ever fall in love. When she discovers James is not all like what she expects, love blooms. A great read that you will truly enjoy.

Sarah has problems, a father who has gambled his family into deep debt  and a marriage that will fix that.  A marriage she doesn't want because there was an understanding that she would marry another but he thinks Sarah is not good enough. Viscount Hathaway is approached by Sarah's father and he is agreeable to the marriage. Lord Hathaway had land and wealth, and now has "the one thing he’d recently discovered he desired beyond all else— his new wife" There may not be love but Sarah is prepared to do her wifely duties. Lord Hathaway shows Sarah passion that she didn't know existed. Her ex is prepared to become Sarah's lover since she is now rich and off the market. Will passion be enough? Will Sarah decide to take a lover? In this sexy part two of the series The Hathaway heirs, there is intrigue, passion and love. Will definitely read the rest of the series. I really enjoyed Sarah and James story!

This was a quick, throughly enjoyable read! Sarah has agreed to marry James to save her mother and brother. Having already been in love once and gotten her heart broken, she has decided that she won't let her heart get engaged during her marriage. But having already fallen for her, James will do anything that he can to have his loved returned. Can he get the HEA that he desires?

This was a great addition to the Hathaway Heirs series!

I very much enjoyed "Lord Hathaway's New Bride" - great descriptors and world building. It could have added another 100 pages or so to flesh out the storyline, but overall it was a winner!

Very sexy novella by Suzanna Medeiros. Loved it from beginning to end. Awesome story. Great pace. Loveable characters. This was my first book in the series and I will definitely check out her other selections.

I am amazed by the depth of this novella - it is a very emotional and well written story that encompasses the wedding and the first year of marriage between Sarah Mapleton and James, Viscount Hathaway.

Sarah doesn't want to marry James, but to save her mother and brother, she agrees.  She has been burned by love and vows to keep her heart safe.  

James has wanted Sarah since the first time he saw her, he knows that she was (and may still be) in love, but he hopes to win her for himself.  He also knows that she didn't want to marry him, but he paid off her father's debts and she really had no choice.  But he has hope that he can win her heart.

This is such an incredible book, it has a lot going on, but it always stays on point and reads like a full length novel.  For a short book, it has a little of everything - insecurity, misunderstanding, jealousy, really steamy love scenes, family and finally soulmate type love.  There is no way for me to write an in-depth review without spoilers, so just lets leave it at this - READ THE BOOK!!  

This is the second book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand alone title with no problems.

I love, love, love author Suzanna Medeiros. She never fails to capture her audience. Ms. Medeiros skill with a pen is visible all throughout her latest addition to THE HATHAWAY HEIRS series, LORD HATHAWAY'S NEW BRIDE. She has an eye for detail and her characters always have such depth to them. It is a breath of fresh air seeing the man taking a chance on love... even though it is one-sided at first. James is such a gentleman, giving Sarah the time and tender care he does. Their story is very read-worthy. I look forward to reading more of THE HATHAWAY HEIRS series. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars!

Lord Hathaway's New Bride is a wonderful story filled with a bully and gambler Father a Heroine who is not sure she wishes marriage as the man she thought she loved has dumped her as her Father has gambled away her dowry.  She has also seen that her parents marriage is not a very good example of a happy marriage. There is a Hero who has just inherited a title and wealth who wishes to have a wife worthy of his title. The are misunderstandings galore and mistrust thrown in and a very sweet love story to boot. I loved every page of this story as it reminded me of what good love stories used to be. Thank you Suzanna Mederios  it was a pleasure to sit for a few hours and read a book that had a great story and a great HEA. I highly recommend this book to all who love a good happy ending and a good love story.

What a perfectly lovely little book!  I have many books by this author, but this is the first of hers I've read.  Now I'm thrilled I have more.  Usually in romances you have the falling in love first, and then marriage.  Here the marriage comes first, which gives this story a nice twist.  If you haven't read book one in this series, don't fret.  This one totally stands alone.  I loved the slow building of the romance between James and Sarah.  At times I wanted to holler at them for their misunderstandings, but it eventually made the story all the sweeter.  But not too sweet....there is definitely is some wonderful steam!  Don't miss this one.

Good book. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. Finished in two days! Mystery, love and intrigue !

At novella length, Lord Hathaway's Bride is chocked full of passion, emotion and realistic characters. It begins and Sarah and James' wedding.  Sarah is reluctant to wed after having her heart broken and James is triumphant to finally have the woman he wanted as his wife. 
They may be married but will it be happy? After an incident on their wedding day, James is resigned to the fact that Sarah isn't ready to give her heart to him and may never be ready. James makes Sarah's heart pound when they are together and never believes there will be anything more than passion between them.
Most novellas barely skim the surface of a couple's emotional and physical connection, but this one is different. There was no shortage of emotions, passion and character building. Highly recommended for historical romance lovers, very good story, lots of passion and realistic, relatable characters.

I was disappointed by this book, but not for the story but for the way it was told. It seemed to me that the author herself was disconnected from her characters, there was no passion and no funny interactions between them. Maybe the next one will be better.

The story starts on the wedding day of Sarah and James Hathaway.   Sarah is marrying a stranger because her parents need the money and her father has gambled away her dowry.  She’s miserable and fearful of their wedding night.  James is infatuated with her and goes about initiating Sarah to their marital bed in the best way possible.  They have no problems in bed but out of it they make only small efforts to connect.    Despite this they grow to care for each other but insecurities, past hurts and lack of confidence keeps them apart.  

Throughout the story, the author conveys the emotions of the two characters so well that I was thoroughly  engaged.  The few sex scenes were lovely and really well done.  There were a few pages I was impatient for Sarah and James to be honest with each other.    I also would have liked to have read more about them getting to know each other outside the bedroom: sharing stories of childhood, books/music they enjoyed, etc.  Overall a very good historical romance.

Sarah Mapleton has already had her heart broken once. When she finds herself compelled to marry the intriguing new Viscount Hathaway so that her father’s debts will be settled, she vows to protect her heart at all costs. After unexpectedly inheriting his uncle’s title, James Hathaway discovers that the one thing he wants above all else is Sarah. A marriage of convenience or so it would seem but James loves Sarah. Sarah soon realises she’s fallen in love with James but there are misunderstandings  & circumstances that mar the way to their HEA. A well written, charming book which I read in two sittings, the characters are well fleshed & likeable, both James & Sarah are insecure each thinking that they aren’t good enough for each other. They are just starting to have the hope of a happy marriage when misunderstandings come thick & fast & neither will broach the subject. I look forward to more books in the series
 
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

This is a short novella of the Hathaways series and it's also my first encounter with the author. In overall, I think that the story is really interesting and I love it that since the beginning we're showed that the hero, James, have already half falling in love with his own wife and he's willing to do many things to get Sarah to be his. It's refreshing to see a hero that's so sure about what he wanted and what he's feeling and I'm loving every second of it. My only complaint is that the problems between James and Sarah are dragged for too long, which make me almost couldn't enjoy the last half of the book. Other than that, everything is good and I love all the characters in the story

I enjoyed this book. It felt like it was at a good pace that the story had enough time to develop. There was nothing wrong with the story, however I felt this story was a pretty basic story. Of course I have read hundreds of historical romance books so I could just have read to much in the same category.

An unusual but fascinating start to a story. It begins with a wedding! Sarah Mapleton has entered into a marriage of convenience story with Viscount James Hathaway, for her mother and brother’s sake. Her father has gambled away her dowry and she fears that her brother will have no money left in the estate, without the support of a wealthy husband. Sarah soon finds herself captivated by her husband but is reluctant to tell him of her feelings; James believes that Sarah loves another and that he is not enough for her. Their misunderstanding threated a marriage with so much potential. The story gradually unfolds, with James doing his best to captivate Sarah. A well written story that I wished was slightly longer, with two great characters.

Lord Hathaway’s New Bride began as a marriage made to pay Sarah’s family’s debts.  James Hathaway had not expected to inherit his title and was not comfortable in his new role.  These two married for unconventional reasons, but they tried to make it a good marriage.  Sarah’s heart had been broken by a former almost betrothed, Robert, who claimed he could not marry her due to her father’s debts.  

Sarah causes a bit of a problem when she tries to protect her new young, sister-in-law from her Robert.  James happens upon their ‘secret’ meeting and misinterprets the reason for the meeting.  

Ms. Medeiros provides us with another sensual, yet sweet romance that tears at your heart as you watch these young lovers work their way to their HEA.  Medeiros has the ability to develop her characters and pull you into their tale.  Yes, there are struggles along the way and a bit of miscommunication, but their love becomes genuine.
