An interesting read about farming life with an insight into the history of the land, field names and the affection with which farmers do their job.

I expected a light, enjoyable memoir about adjusting to rural life after years of city living, but the book started with a long, dry history of the family farm, which made me lose interest.

Farming in rural Ireland is portrayed in this memoir. Lorna described her grandparent’s farm life and her own memories growing up in Garrendenny. Now as the owner she is making her own stories and memories.
