St Lucia sounds so divine and this book makes me want to visit it, not only for the sights but the delicious smells that this book seems to input into your brain whilst you are reading.

I enjoyed catching up with Millie and seeing how she would cope with running the school. She might be a dab hand in the kitchen – she is a Michelin Star Chef after all, but speaking in front of people and teaching is not her forte.

The book has plenty of laugh-out-loud scenes and was a real joy to read. Millie was the saviour of the book, over and over again. It was quite amusing being witness to some of the disasters, although I’m sure I wouldn’t be laughing quite as much if they were happening to me.

Whilst I believe it would be best to start with the first book in the series, I couldn’t really see anything in this one that would make it difficult to understand what was going on if you read this as a stand-alone.

It is a quick read at only 160 pages, but the book is filled to the brim with delightful characters and a plot worth investing your time in

Daisy James strikes again with another amazing read. Make sure you leave enough room in your suitcase this Summer, because Confetti and Confusion needs to be added to your holiday essentials.

The Paradise Cookery School is set in St Lucia, in the first book we met Millie who is a Michelin star chef, she steps in and sets up the Cookery school for Claudia who is a celebrity chef. There is also Ella who supports Millie with the development of the Caribbean recipes and Zach who is the estate Manager and the handsome male in the story. All incredibly likeable characters.

With the school ready to be opened after the first book, we see the first booking. Imogen and her wedding party. But, things don’t go to plan with her wedding and Millie does all she can to get things back on track. And of course, Millie’s relationship with Zach has started to blossom but his ex girlfriend appears on the scene and makes it very clear that she is pursuing him because she wants him back.

As you read, you can taste the chocolate and smell the St Lucia air. It’s almost as though you have been transported to the location and sat in the Cookery school observing. More than once whilst reading my stomach rumbled.

Each book in the series may be read stand alone, but I’d recommend reading the series. You get to know the characters and location and to be honest they are amazing reads.

Without a doubt a delightful read. And we can look forward to a third title in the series due later this year – Mistletoe and Magic – I cannot wait to read the next one.

Thank you to Ellie, Daisy and Canelo for our advanced copy.

Sunshine and Secrets was my first Daisy James book and I enjoyed it so much that I couldn’t wait to slap on my factor 50 and head back to St Lucia for another instalment of the Paradise Cookery School. Although Confetti & Confusion is the second book in the series, it can definitely be read as a standalone as Daisy James makes sure to include superb colourful introductions to all of her fabulous characters. As I have read the first book, Sunshine and Secrets, I greeted these warm and friendly characters like old friends.

Confetti & Confusion picks up right where Sunshine and Secrets left off as the shiny new kitchen of the Paradise Cookery School opens for business. Amelia (Millie) Harper and St Lucian native, Ella, worked so hard to get the kitchen ready and now the fun can begin. The first customer is a bridal party, and while Imogen and the hens are cooking up chocolatey creations in the kitchen, Alex and the stags partake in some testosterone fuelled events like quad-biking. Anything can happen, and often does, with Mishap Millie around but luckily hunky estate manager Zach is around to pick Millie up when she falls (literally).

Millie’s feelings for Zach have become more intense in Confetti & Confusion and every day she spends with him mends her broken heart a little more. Millie’s stay on the island is only temporary and she is adamant that she doesn’t want a holiday romance but maybe Zach doesn’t either, only Millie is too insecure to find out. As they spend more time together it is clear to the reader, if not to Millie, that Zach has feelings for her too but just when you think ‘the moment’ is approaching, Zach’s ex appears on the scene. Millie retreats at the speed of light when it appears that Zach is back with Chloe and my heart sank for her but sometimes appearances can be deceptive.

When a fire in the hotel kitchen destroys the wedding cake and the wedding planner is nowhere to be found, Millie is determined to make sure that Imogen and Alex’s dream wedding goes as planned. Well I say dream wedding, but it’s more Imogen’s mum’s dream wedding as Imogen and Alex would have been happy to get married at home in their local parish church. As more things go wrong for the couple it looks like someone is out to sabotage their wedding…but why?

Although I would have liked a bit more scheming and intrigue around the mystery of the wedding sabotage, this unexpected addition does manage to add more depth and drama to the story and sets Confetti & Confusion apart from a twee hearts and flowers chick-lit book. It’s testament to the way that Daisy James writes a book so full of heart without leaving an overly saccharine taste in your mouth and that’s no easy feat when there are delicious recipes being described so beautifully that I could almost smell the chocolate! Thankfully, Millie's story is far from over so I can't wait to jet off to St Lucia again soon.

Confetti & Confusion is a mouth-watering, sunny delight; definitely a book to pack in your suitcase for your summer holiday this year!

I chose to read an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

So, Confetti and Confusion is the second book in the Paradise Cookery School series, following immediately on from the events in Sunshine and Secrets (a book I have also reviewed - see here).

If you have read my review of the first novel in this series you will know just how much I loved the setting of the Paradise Cookery School.  It is set within a luscious cocoa plantation in St Lucia, a Caribbean island known for its vibrance.  I am a big fan of novels set in beautiful locations (its helps me add to my ever increasing list of places to visit), and this novel was no exception.  I loved learning more about St Lucia, loosing myself amongst the cocoa trees, experiencing the daily deluge of rain that disappears as quickly as it appears - it really does set the scene, and provide a wonderful backdrop for Millie Harper's experiences in the Paradise Cookery School.

This takes us neatly onto the characters within the novel.  We return to Millie Harper, the lovely Ella Johnson and of course, Zach Barker.  In addition, we have a range of new characters - the first attendees of Claudia Croft's prestigious cookery course in her newest venue in St Lucia; Imogen, the bride to be, attends with the female members of her bridal party in the week preceding her luxurious St Lucian nuptials.

As we learned in Sunshine and Secrets, Millie Harper has a habit of finding trouble (or trouble finding her!), and it is no exception in the latest instalment in this series.  With a cookery course to unexpectedly provide, a wedding that suffers unexpected setbacks and a bride to keep happy, Millie finds herself pushed to her limits, both professionally and emotionally.  Throw into the mix the dashing Zach Barker and we have a novel full of twists and turns!

I really enjoyed this novel, and it couldn't have been published at a better time.  It is a perfect beach read, and if you don't find yourself on a beach this summer, you'll at least be able to imagine yourself on the stunning island of St Lucia.  I definitely recommend this novel - it's light, fun and you get to revisit old friends at the Paradise Cookery School as well and making new ones.  I'm already looking forward to the next instalment, Mistletoe and Mystery, out later this year!

Confetti and confusion was a good follow up to Sunshine and Secrets, both great summer, beach reads. Looking forward to the third instalment!

Millie is a Michellin-star chef who was left in charge of the courses at The Paradise Cookery School, a business run by chef Claudia. She's running a course called Chocolate and Confetti for Imogen's wedding to Alex, and Zach is there too. Millie and Zach met when Millie was out exploring and Zach was walking his dog Binks in the first book in the series (Sunshine and Secrets) which I had the pleasure to review and really enjoyed.

Will the wedding and course go to plan? Millie is known for things not going great always in her life. She does love St Lucia though and her new life which has been her reality since she left England. Everyone in the book has their own character traits and the book is full of beautiful scenery and sweet treats and cocktails. There's friendship, laughs and ups and downs in this fun but short novel. This installment is shorter than book #1 but no less enjoyable. There was a slight repitition of what cake pops were which I thought was a bit unnecessary but that was the only flaw.

I wanted to go to St Lucia when I sped theough the first book, and I do even more now. The book is atmospheric and realistic but I do think it lacks some of the depth of the surroundings of the cookery school and the island as well as island life that the first book had. I must admit, I did miss bubbly, colourful Claudia and I hope she's back soon. I've heard there will be a third installment in the series, Mistletoe and Memories, which will be released in September 2018.

A well-timed quick summer read which I'm glad I have the ARC of. Thanks to Daisy James and Canelo for the ARC of this latest installment in The Paradise Cookery School series in exchange for an honest and voluntary review and the chance to participate in the blog tour for this book.

I enjoyed the previous novel, Sunshine and secrets, and wondered how this one could possibly follow it. However, I'm pleased to say it is just as enjoyable if not more so. The food that is produced has such a chocolatey Caribbean feel that I am immediately transported there and craved a rum punch in accompaniment. There is much mayhem and confusion in this book and of course, we see how the relationship between Millie and Zach develops. When his ex-girlfriend returns to the scene, however, things are sure to be put on the back burner. is there hope for the two of them? Read the book and find out.

I had already read and loved the first book in this series, Sunshine and Secrets, so eagerly looked forward to reading this sequel - and I definitely wasn't disappointed! Mishap Millie is cooking up a storm but it isn't of her own making - well not all of it. Millie is a Michelin star chef in her own right but is currently stepping in for a celebrity chef to help set up and start to run the courses at the Paradise Cookery School. However, even the best laid plans can go wrong despite meticulous planning and rehearsal - and this time that's just what happens to the first clients, bride-to-be Imogen and her chocolate loving friends. There's one disaster after another, mysterious events and a possible romance that is initially thwarted by an unexpected arrival.

The setting on the Caribbean island of St Lucia is brought vividly to life in this delightful story which is filled with tasty, mouthwatering treats. It was great to reconnect with many characters from the first book but I suspect you could read this one as a standalone if you haven't read that one. The twists and turns, disastrous events and problems for the wedding party have Millie striving to come to the rescue time after time. However, don't expect this to be a doom and gloom story, it is anything but! It has many laugh out loud moments, plenty of humour and constantly brought a smile to my face. It was a great read and would be lovely to read at any time of year, bringing sunshine into the lives of readers. I'm looking out for the next book in this series, Mistletoe and Memories, which is due to be released in September 2018 - I can't wait to discover what happens next on this Caribbean cooking adventure!

I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

This novella (only 160 pages!) is a light-hearted and amusing little read. But the thing I wish I'd known before I picked this book is it's the middle of a trilogy of novellas. So it's like watching your favorite romantic comedy 30 minutes after it started and not watching the last 30 minutes, you miss out on the build-up and the happy-ever-after! - just frustrating and for me at least not in a good way.

This novella features Imogen the bride-to-be is certainly having an unforgettable experience but for all the wrong reasons, join the laughing-crying-chocolate extravaganza to see if they can overcome all the mishaps or is it destined to be the worst wedding ever? But it revolves around Millie and Zach's increasingly undeniable chemistry will they finally hook-up or is it like Imogen's wedding doomed... We'll have to wait and see, installment three is out around Christmastime.

Thanks to Netgalley and Canelo for sending me this in exchange for an open and honest review.

This book was definitely a great, quick read that made you feel good! It was a fun read that sparked a bit of my cooking interest, as well. While it was good, it spent quite a bit of time on unimportant details that could’ve been left out and still made the story...hence the four stars rather than five. A great quick, summer read!

Copy provided by NetGalley for a fair and honest review.

Weddings, cooking, and St Lucia - what's not to like about this novella? I had not read the first book but quickly picked up the threads although it did feel like there was a bit too much going on in such a short piece. Millie and Zach- hmmmm. I know that's supposed to be the centerpiece romance (well, Imogen and Alex are getting married) but it didn't quite develop as much as I would preferred. No mind, as I imagine and hope there will be another installment. Thanks to net galley for the arc. This is a good read for an afternoon at the beach.

Love or love the idea of a cookery course in an exotic location? Add in a bit of romance? Then this is a great summer book for you. Relax and enjoy!

The follow up to Sunshine and Secrets sees Millie face even more mishaps (not all of her own making) with the wonderful Ella by her side...

A lovely cast of characters which allowed me to enjoy the story and revisit my (two) holidays to St Lucia. Beautiful scenery, an easy camaraderie and a few frolics made for a light, easy read.

It’s probably best to read this as part of the series as the characters make more sense that way.

An enjoyable read 3.75*

I received this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I went into this book not knowing anything about it the story or the author. I was quite underwhelmed with the story. I think the author was going for a sweet, subtle romance with a tinge of mystery on the side. For me, nothing about it worked. According to the book description, the book has 160 pages and it felt like it went on forever. I feel like there maybe too many angles working with way too many characters and lack of character development. I think adding to the plot to make it stronger and reducing unneeded characters would be the way to go.

If you enjoy light romances with lots of fluff, you will enjoy this book. There was just no strong plot line here.

The cover is adorable and I really wanted to enjoy reading it as much as looking at it.

This book follows on immediately after the previous book.

Amelia is in St Lucia to oversee the building of a kitchen so a famous chef can start up a cookery school. Amelia in the 1st book had done that and was about to go home when the chef CLaudia rang Amelia oto say she was not able to travel under advice from her doctors and could Amelia run the 1st course that had been booked in.

This book follows the 5 day course of the cookery class when Millie and Ella give cookery lessons to bride to be Imogen, her daughter Gracie, best friends Imogen and Clara and her mother Julia. ALong the way there is madness and mayhem and a dash of mystery and romance.

Just like the 1st book this ends on a giant, noo not there, you can finishe it there moment and its both irritating and clever because i really need to read the next book to see what happens.

I really like Daisy James, ive read 3 of her books now and they have all been great reads.

I love this book series - can’t wait for the next one to be released. The characters were familiar and the story picked up from where it left off before.

Cute book but took me a little awhile to get into it. Fast beach read, not sure if I will read a 3rd one if they make another in the series.

I enjoyed this book. It's a meandering walk through the life of Millie at The Paradise Cookery School. She's recovering from a broken engagement & is learning to enjoy life again. #ConfettiAndConfusion #NetGalley
