Leslie has out done herself again with this book. Strong characters and a great story line that will keep you entertained while reading this book. I so couldn't put it down once I started reading it either and neither will you. I can't wait to read more of her work either too. I can't wait to read more of this series and Leslie's work. |
Leslie North gives us the Playboy Prince and Research Nerd in this Royal Romance. I liked Prince Eric and how he was attempting to shed his playboy image. He treated Anna like she was a woman, not a geek. The book is a quick read and is very steamy toward the end of the book. I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! |
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd book in a series. I did not read the first. It reads great as a stand alone.Anna and Eric's story. I felt like I had read this story before. Not sure why, I also thought her cancer research would have been more believable as post doctoral work. The characters were interesting. I think most romance readers would enjoy. |
Royal Treatment is the second in the Royals of Danovar series, but easily a standalone. It was a super-fast read and I found myself shocked when I finished in less than two hours. It was refreshing to read about a “spare” in line to the throne that didn’t bemoan their status or envy their sibling. Eric reveled in the freedom his title as second gave him and ran wildly with it. Right up until he no longer could and was tasked with trying to rectify the royal family’s image in the wake of a scandal of American proportions. I love that he went about this, not just by doing charity work or getting his face in the spotlight for donating boatloads of cash to some deserving, albeit politically correct organization, but by creating a healthcare bill that would impact the entire population. Enter Anna and her amazing research that has the potential to cure a common form of breast cancer and save millions of lives across the world while providing much needed positive attention to their small country. The story was intriguing and the characters likable (and, let’s be honest, the sex steaming hot), but there were some editorial concerns that detracted a bit from my ability to lose myself in the work. Word echoes and head hops kept pulling me back to reality and making my fingers itch with a desire to correct. This made me about ten kinds of sad, because the story was one I would have loved to drown in and never come up until I was a big pile of mush from a brilliant happily-ever-after. I mean ending with a secret something is just… yep. The way to my heart. Regardless of the technical issues, I would absolutely recommend Royal Treatment for a fun, quick, summer poolside read. What’s not to love about a scorching hot Prince and a nerdy, but lovable scientist who make absolute magic together between the sheets. Or on the pool table. |
Prince Eric is trying to get his health bill passed and show parliament that he is more than a party boy. Dr Anna Fernstone wants to prove a new treatment for breast cancer will fare better in Danovar since there is less red tape. She needs his help to be a little less introvert and he needs hers to be seen as less of a playboy. A good story, the sexy times weren't over the top, but it was missing something for me. I don't even know what, so I can't put it in words. |

I really enjoyed this title by Leslie North Eric seems to be your typically rich playboy at first until you get to know him better and discover he really cares about his people. Anna is really a nerd at heart with very little social skills who is wanting to be more outgoing and asks Eric tutor her in the ways of seduction... What could go wrong?! |
I enjoy reading books by Leslie North and Royal Treatment was no exception. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more. |

I actually enjoyed this book more than the first one. I found the characters likeable and the developing relationship enjoyable. This was a quick and light read...as long as you didn't dwell too deeply at the the plot. I was given an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. |

This book is a quick and pleasant read about Prince Eric of the fictional country of Danovar, and Dr. Anna Fernstone, a research scientist in the field of breast cancer. In an effort to leave his playboy reputation behind, Eric teams together with Anna to fund her research, and she is quite taken with his dedication for the people in his kingdom. Anna is portrayed as an awkward science geek who needs lessons on dating from Eric and of course, he’s more than happy to give her lots of very detailed instruction. The steamy sexual attraction between these two characters is definitely the highlight of the story but I wish there had been more story to read. If you’re looking for a sexy romantic comedy, this is the book for you. I read a copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own. |
🔆 Received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review 🔆 The Prince and the Scientist! He’s trying to repair his family’s image while she’s trying to have a scientific breakthrough to cure cancer. He’s a playboy while she’s a brainiac! And yet they’re drawn to each other like no other before. Short, sweet and a little naughty is how I found Royal Treatment. Possibly a little to OTT on the naughtiness. Don’t get me wrong I love a good sex scene but I’m also a BIG fan of a blossoming romance. Bit more story plot and less sex would have improved the story. |
Cute. This story is a newish kind of plot that I don’t see very often and so it was refreshing for a change. As always with this genre, there are problematic themes to the story, however, if you can sit back and just enjoy what you read, you are golden. I couldn’t help but like the characters despite the fact there was not a ton of character development. I could see the effort for it though. Almost like the characters themselves were fighting to be seen as more than two dimensional characters in a dirty book. Overall, I enjoyed my time and don’t regret anything. |
I really enjoyed reading your book. Kept me on my toes the whole time and many emotions. I definitely need to read the others. |

Prince Eric is wanting to be taken seriously and not looked at as the playboy he has been. Dr Anna Fernstone is working on a cure for cancer. He wants to work with her and finds they have a mutual attraction that could keep them from accomplishing what needs to be done for the poor of Danovar Can they have it all? A fast read. |
While I enjoyed the characters as individuals the story left a lot to be desired. More could have been written to show Eric's depth, especially with his degree. The cause that Anna is working for was amazing and well thought out. The reason for the low rating is this story is a glorified story of getting under Anna's skirts. |
Royal Eric is trying to get his health bill passed and show parliament that he is more than a party boy. With the help of cancer Doctor Anna Fernstone Danovar will prove to be the place for research to be spear headed. Like all North writes there is a HEA. "A copy of this book was provided by Relay Publishing via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." |
Smart is sexy, or in the case of Eric Prince of Danovar smart is the new sexy. Everyone knows the brother to the reigning King is sexy as sin and a wild partier to boot, but hidden beneath all that charm the man is a champion for health care reform, medical breakthroughs and incredibly smart. Unfortunately, his playboy outer image is putting the topics closest to his heart at risk, not only that, but his partying attitude is putting his chance with the one woman who has captured his attention at stake. Anna is everything Eric's hidden side could want, she's a doctor researching the latest treatment for breast cancer and coming away with incredible results, plus the woman is drop dead gorgeous. He should probably keep his hands to himself given the woman is Eric's new sister in law's step sister and the lead researcher for the best chance he has to restore his image. While working together towards a bill in parliament sparks are beginning to fly and Eric isn't sure whether to fan the flames or put his desire on ice, but he definitely knows which way he's leaning. After all, who says business can't be pleasure. The second book in the Royals of Danover series Royal treatment is a fun short read. As a novella the characters are lacking some depth, mainly background and a full developed secondary cast of people, but Ms. North successfully sweeps us away in this royal tale and keeps us interested, for me I would have preferred more of an antagonist than just the misunderstandings between the couple and the pressure of deadlines, but even without the book was a fun read. I'll definitely be picking up the next book to see where things are headed, although besides the blip from the next in the series being included I would have no idea where the next book was as going or who even it was going to be about. This book itself doesn't drum up much interest for the next, but the excerpt did get my attention and I'll be sure to check it out. ** I received and ARC of this book in exchange for a review of my honest opinions and feedback. |

The best part of, Royal Treatment, is how seriously Eric takes the bill that he's trying to pass. It's not all about how the public will see him, well some of it is. He truly cares. Anna quickly sees that there's more to Eric. |
