I havent ready any other books from this author before so wasnt sure whether i would like it or not. I have heard the authors name before which was why i chose it.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the storyline as well as the instories to do with Janes relationships with her colleagues.

I will definately read from this author again.

Thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read from Linda La Plante. Murder Mile is based on Jane Tennison, just after she has been made a detective sergeant. Great storyline from the late 1970s, which brought back many fond memories.

I found myself visualising the characters from ‘Prime Suspect’, which I felt added to my enjoyment. The areas of sexism and homophobia are dealt with as part and parcel of what life used to be like, not only in the police force but also in all walks of life during that time.

WDS Tennison’s character is developing and she is willing to speak her mind and stand up for what she believes. The murder scenes and procedures are concise, making it a joy to read.

Thank you NetGalley, Bonnier Zaffre and Linda La Plante for my ARC.

A must read for any Jane Tennison fan. Excellent.

I love these prequels to Prime Suspect. Learning more about how Jane Tennison came to be the way she is in the tv series is like reconnecting with an old friend. I could not put this book down.

Not sure if seeing the television Prime Suspect spoilt me for this book - I miss Helen Mirren! Fairly detailed London police procedural with low key emotional dramas, set in 1979, neither earth-shattering nor humorous, depiction of the era may interest some readers.

This is the 4th in Lynda La Plante's prequel series and like the previous one is a very good police procedural set in the late 1970s.

There are no mobile phones or modern technology and a top of the range car is the Austin Allegro Vanden Plas.

The story feels authentic with the behaviour of some of the police officers and other characters not what you would expect or hopefully see in this day and age.

The story moves along at a good pace and kept me hooked throughout until the surprising ending confirming that the author hasn't lost any of her skill for writing good stories despite bring so prolific

Overall thoroughly recommended.

I don’t know how she does it but every time I pick up a book by Lynda I know I am in for a real treat. Another brilliantly written murder investigation with Jane tennison as part of the investigative team. This book has a beautifully woven plot that will keep you engaged loved it

Set in 1979 in London, Lynda la Plant tells a tale of multiple murders with some really gruesome moments. It’s full of great detail from the bin men strikes and the Winter of discontent which adds a feeling of reality to it all. I love the way she describes the characters clothing too, which really helps draw a picture of everyone and builds the atmosphere of the time and their personal circumstances.....a great twist too..Briilant

I would like to thank the author/publisher/NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review
