Loads of lovely ideas for a healthier pouch when weaning you’re baby. Nothing world shattering but a good little book to have on your shelf if you want to feed your baby foods made by you without added chemicals.

This book has great recipes and ideas for parents who are interested in preparing homemade food pouches and purees for their children. Whether it’s a parent who is skeptical about commercially prepared foods or a parent who is shocked by the price of food pouches, “101 DIY Baby Food Pouches” has recipes that will help. Although recipes for homemade baby food and purees can be found on the internet, there’s something to be said about having all of the recipes in one place with clear and well-written instructions. And for parents of older children: There’s no shame in using baby food pouches to help you hit the recommended daily servings for fruits and vegetables.

When my child was small, I'd use a food mill and spend many an hour making her food to take to daycare. Small plastic containers were used and I always hoped the lids would stay on. With reusable food pouches, not only is the preparation streamlines, but the actual feeding is no longer a task. Included are many recipes to help you insure your child's diet is healthy and nutritious. This is a great reference for any mother who is trying to manage their time and insure their child is healthy.

101 DIY Baby Food Pouches is just the kind of book I needed to read in order to find out what type of pouches I needed to purchase and use. I also knew about pureeing many fruits and veg but needed more ideas and this book had so many good ideas that I never thought of. If you want to make your own homemade unprocessed baby food for pouches, this is the book you need to read. Would make a great baby shower gift too.

This book was offered to me by Quarto Publishing with an awesome timing. My son is 3 months old, and will begin eating in a couple of months.

I did my own purees when my daughter began eating, but reusable pouches were expensive at the time. I never thought to buy some now for her. This is such an easy way to reduce the amount of waste that we produce!

My only somewhat negative point is that there’s no indication of when give each puree to a baby. It would have been great to have the recipes classified according to the months when it is okay to first give the puree to a baby.

As a mom of three children, the constant food recalls make me nervous. So often, I think about the effects of chemicals and preservatives (food science experiments, if you will) not only on myself but on my children. I love the idea of making baby foods on my own rather than relying on store bought jars. For one, the selection available in stores isn't great. By making your own baby food pouches, you can get your baby to try new flavors and food combos. I loved that there was a huge variety of recipes, including onion, figs, asparagus, red lentils, etc.

101 DIY Baby Food Pouches has a delightful layout, fun fonts, and clear, easy to follow instructions. There are tips for getting the right consistency and the combinations of recipes is endless.

Definitely a must-have for anyone with a baby or toddler!

I'd heard about other parents making their own babies' food and was always vaguely interested, but this was my first real exposure to it.

It was not as complicated as I'd feared. It seems pretty manageable. These recipes will encourage your baby to be a budding foodie (and might encourage you to eat your vegetables, too.)

If you're iffy on using pouches for baby food, the author points out that you can feed baby these recipes in whatever format you'd like.

I'm looking forward to sharing some new flavors with my little guy.

I do not yet have children, but there are a lot of them in my life... and many of the ones that are currently really little and are learning about the foods that are out there. So I asked to read and review this book to know what better options are out there to feed the sweet littles when they come over and stay while their parents head out for a date or for some kind of appointment or other. The options are, apparently, endless! Fish? What? Well, shoot.

I appreciate that the authors have included how long the foods can typically stay frozen and still be good. I also appreciate that there are so many flavor combinations.

This might be something I give to my friends with children that are learning to eat better or need more flavorings but are still too little to eat more solid foods.
