I love a good pressure cooker recipe. Especially a book of them. This book features different types of cuisines, from Chinese, to Indian, to Mexican. The orange pepper chicken is to die for! I would love more one pot recipes though.

While some of the recipes were interesting, there wasn't a lot in the book that I would cook. Would love to see books dedicated completely to Chinese food, Asian or other.

This is a must-have in the kitchen! Not only is it chock full of mouth-watering recipes, pictures (more than most of this type of book, beautifully photographed, I might add too), and tips throughout the book to keep you informed and on track! I really like this cookbook and am excited to add it to my repertoire!

A quick tour of recipes of a variety of sorts. A bit surprising that cream was used in many of the Indian recipes. I have not had the chance to make any of those yet, but am thinking that coconut milk would be the preferred. beverage to use. I am looking forward to trying this book.

I reviewed this cookbook on my blog and will be sending feedback directly to the publisher. I've rated this book 4 stars, though I think others will rate it higher.

This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Jill Selkowitz is an amazing pressure cooker cookbook of over 100 recipes. She begins the book with lots of tips and tools for pressure cookers and Instant Pot users. She takes the reader from seasonings and sauces, breakfast, dinners, family favorite meals, pasta and grains, as well as cultural dishes, all the way to dessert.

I have to say that This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook is one of the best cookbooks that I've seen for the pressure and multicooker. With her TOG Tips, the author helps the reader make decisions, learn about alternative ingredients, or explains her reasoning with a recipe.

Prep time, cook time, and portion size are all clearly laid out at the top of the recipe. Ingredients are listed on the left side of the page, while the directions are listed on the right. Each chapter is in a different color to make recipes easier to find when looking in the physical book.

This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Jill Selkowitz is one book that you're definitely going to want a physical copy of because you're going to be using it nearly every single time you use your pressure cookers and Instant Pot.

I loved this! This is a great mix of recipes for your pressure cooker (or Instant Pot). The Instant Pot offers a tool that is saving HOURS for many busy cooks, but the challenge has been knowing quite what to do with it.

This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook answers that question. From basic "staple" meals to more "fancy" items, there is a LARGE variety of recipes here. The author includes a helpful section on tips for working with the pressure cooker, and another section on "This Old Gal's" tips in general, as well as kitchen accessories. The recipes are organized in a way that makes sense to me: Breakfast, Chicken Dinners, Pork Dinners, Meat Lover Family Favorites, Chinese Favorites, Indian Favorites, Pasta and Italian Favorites, etc. There are a TON of great recipes in this book. There's even a section for desserts!

The recipes are clear and easy to follow, and while there are not pictures for all recipes in the book, there are a lot of pictures, full color, full page pictures--several of which definitely tempted me to add a recipe to my meal planning. Great index in the back makes it quick and easy to find your favorites.

Yes, I am probably like many people, bought or gifted a Pressure Cooker or Instant Pot and too scared to use it. Mine stayed at the back of the cupboard for over a year until I started to see Facebook groups, Instagram Posts and Pinterest postings about these fantastic appliances.

Well my interest was piqued and I pulled it out and just looked at it, trying to figure out where to start and what to do with it. I began with rice, something you can't go wrong with. I can tell you I was very nervous, was the gasket going to blow? Was I going to burn myself or the rice? It was a definite NO. I couldn't believe how easy it was to use and when I started to find recipes I was amazed at what could be achieved in such a short time.

Then I saw "This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook". This is a well thought out book with so many tips just to begin with. It is almost like a Pressure Cooker Bible. So easy to follow and I love the little coloured Pressure Cookers on the right hand side of the page that give you the times and servings. The Space for notes is excellent also, in cased you want to change the recipe and note down what you have done for the next time you cook that particular recipe.

The pictures are beautifully presented but I would have liked a few more.

This is definitely a book that I will use a lot.

Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Race Point Publishing for the opportunity to read and review.

First off let me say, I love my pressure cooker. So when I get a chance to learn new recipes to utilize my pressure cooker, I get pretty excited. This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Jill Selkowitz is an amazing addition to my pressure cooker cookbook collection. I really enjoyed how the book split out recipes from breakfast, Chicken Dinners, Pork Dinners, Meat Lover Family Favorites, Easy Bowls, Indian Bowls, Soups and Stews, Chinese Favorites, Jewish Favorites, Pasta and Italian Favorites, Grains and Legumes, Appetizers and Sides, and Desserts. I do wish it would have had a Mexican/Spanish Section but the selection is pretty spectacular. Some of my favorite recipes being: Frosted Mini Frittatas, Jalapeno Popper Souffle, Spicy Chicken Bow Ties, Creamy Tuscan Garlic Chicken, Sunday Night Pot Roast, Drive Thru Tacos, and Beef Stroganoff. The selection of recipes, the beautiful pictures and the ease of the recipes for cooking are great for anyone. Fantastic, easy step cooking.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy of This Old Gal's Pressure Cooker Cookbook for my honest review.

This is a great solid recipe book for anyone who loves to use a pressure cooker or has one and has not used it enough. There are plenty of recipes from breakfast through to dinner and even some puds! I had not heard of This Old Gal before but now I have and I am aware that she has a blog I will be checking this out. I would recommend this for anyone who has a pressure cooker and wants to get more out of it. The only negative I can give this book is that I would have liked to see more pictures throughout the book.

I had high expectations for this title. I’ll list out the good points first. Overall very well written, clear cut instructions. A large compendium for cooking using your pressure cooker, as advertised! Definitely won’t run out of ideas for your daily meals. Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and so many others to choose from.

The recipes generally require all sorts of ingredients which was a let down. I was hoping for meals made with simple and easy to procure items. Cooks with array of ingredients on hand should have this book!

That said, I might try some of the recipes if possible...

This Old Gal is well known and well respected in the pressure cooker world. I've used many of her online recipes before. This book is a great collection of recipes. I appreciate her use of international flavors. There are many beautiful pictures included, too. I would highly recommend this book for anyone with an electric pressure cooker. I have looked at numerous other pressure cooker books and was only interested in a handful of the recipes included. I would probably try at least half of those included here. I only gave 4 stars as there is no inclusion of time to get the pressure cooker to start and also cool-down time, a common problem in the pressure-cooker world. In addition, I am a busy full-time working mother. It's difficult to have so many ingredients for most of the recipes.

In the age of Instant Pot, pressure cookers have enjoyed a popularity resurgence. I too learned how to use one of the old time pressure cookers while young and was quite happy to utilize it's convenience and ability to enhance my cooking. With son many cooks turning back the clock to use a pressure cooker, I'd recommend you reserve a place on your bookshelf or a spot in your kindle for this one.

A useful book allowing you to make better use of a piece of equipment that normally lurks in the cupboard and only used occasionally for steaming ham.
With plenty of tasty recipes that are clearly laid out and ave good instructions. Overall an excellent addition to the cookery bookshelf.

I've tried several of the author's pressure cooker recipes that I had found online (all came out great!), and was excited to get this cookbook. Since it's a protected pdf, I can't judge the printability or fill in/use notes section that are available throughout the book.
I thought the tips at the beginning, and the spice mixes were nice helps - I've only owned my pressure cooker for a short time so it was helpful for me to read through these. I plan to try a few of the recipes soon, if I can download to a device I have at home.
