What a truly lovely story of April and her life,i could writ a lengthy review but i feel that would spoil it for others. To say that April suffers when the bombs drop would be an understatement. When she moves to cornwall to begin a new life she is looked after by the delightful Mrs Teague she makes friends too but she also finds she has an enemy. All i can say is please buy the book and read it as you will truly love it as i have.worthy of more than 5*

A great read.
I found the characters believable and very likeable. The story flowed and gave a true account of living life in WW2..

A heart warming story about nurses and GIs during World War 2. I stayed up late reading this as I couldn't pit it down.
April is a trainee nurse who moves to London to escape tragedy and try and find her family. Once there she makes new friends and finds love.
This is a well written story with beautiful characters, particularly the adorable Mrs Teague.
I have loved stories about nurses since I read the Sie Barton books as a teenager and in recent years I ha e developed a passion for books about women in the war, so this lovelock ticks both boxes.
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for gifting me an ARC in return for an honest review

Really enjoyed this book and the authentic wartime story. Good characters and very well written. I love my wartime sagas and enjoyed the fact that this one was a bit diferent to the norm, with the GI aspect. I would definitely read from the author in the future.
