I quite liked the first third of this book... when it looked lik Miriam was a random stranger, and fixating on a child, and our Dr was more than a little unhinged.
As soon as all was revealed it went downhill for me... and seemed to get more and more ridiculous.
I almost gave up on it a few times....
I finished it,but didn't particularly enjoy it.

Just the description is enough to give you creeps! I love the plot of the book. It has a consistent pace with some sensible writing involved. I'd recommend it for a binge-read!

I really wanted to like The Classroom, but I just couldn't find myself getting into it. There were certainly twists and turns with Harriet and her , who's just began school, and her teacher, as well as with her mom Kirsten, who is extremely protective of her daughter. I could empathize with the mother but just didn't like her...I can't really explain why other than she was just SO...much! I usually love psychological thrillers, but this one just didn't work completely for me. I was ready for it to be over less than halfway through, and found myself skimming towards the end.

The Classroom by A.L. Bird was chilling. It was a great story and the twists and turns kept me very intrigued. I was surprised by the ending, and it left me pondering for a few hours after I finished it. Not being a parent myself, I found the characters' actions interesting.
I look forward to more from this author.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ Digital for the ARC.

A good concept, but didn't have me gripped. I didn't much enjoy the 'voice' of the narrating characters, which made the pacing difficult for me to get into. Again, the concept is good, but this isn't one that stands out to me.

An okay read for me, didn't really 'grab' me and I didn't find it to be a page turner.

Based on this I don't think I will read any more from this author.

Many Thanks to A.L.Bird, HQ Digital and NetGalley for an ARC of The Classroom, This is my honest review of the book.
I was drawn to this book. I enjoy psychological thrillers, and I was not disappointed with The Classroom. The book is full of twists and turns that I was not expecting. If you think you have this book figured out from the cover description, then you have a huge shock waiting, definitely a brilliant twist that I did not foresee.
Dr Kirsten White is worried about her daughter, Harriet, starting school. After many attempts at IVF she finally has the child she so longed for, and worries about leaving her in someone else's care, Her Husband, Ian, a Head Teacher, reassures her that Harriet will be safe and happy at school. Despite those initial worries, Kirsten feels reassured by her husband and Harriet begins reception as planned.
Miriam Robertson, is a new teacher, starting that term. She is to be Harriet's teacher. She singles Harriet out as being a special child and tries her best to nurture her and build a special relationship. Harriet is in awe of her teacher and a special relationship develops, However, only Miriam knows her true intentions for Harriet, and when troubling things worry Miriam about Harriet's home life. Miriam becomes more determined to act out her plan soon.
I did not like any of the main adult characters in this book. At times I felt sympathy for each of them, but otherwise I felt that each had their major flaws and few redeeming qualities. All were devious and a little cunning, however, this added to the mystery and suspense. It was interesting as the character flaws and bits of past history were revealed, giving you a true character insights, The ending was far better than I could have imagined, and left me thinking ,A very good book. Twisty, and full of devious and deceptive characters. Just great,
