Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

Thanks,
Laura

This novel is very touching. It's full of emotions, love, hate, forgiveness. I liked that it was true to real life. I'm looking forward to read another novel by Jennifer

The second book in the series deals with Ophelia and Kyle. They'd run away together to California to follow their dreams: she was going to be a singer and her was going to write screenplays. Along the way they got married in Las Vegas. Well, it didn't quite work out the way they'd hoped. Kyle did become a screenwriter for several blockbuster action movies, letting himself get dragged into the whole Hollywood atmosphere but Ophelia refused to let herself be changed just because the producers said so. They argued, he didn't listen, she left and went back home where she's successfully and happily running the family's B&B. Suddenly Kyle reappears with startling news, and asks if he could stay at the inn for a few months to work on a new screenplay. Much angst, but she says fine, with conditions. Since this is a second chance fiction book... what conditions?! Enjoyable read, now to read Harper's story.

This is a second chance romance. Ophelia and Kyle have a long history. They were young and in love, running away to start a new life together and live their dreams until those dreams didn’t quite match up leaving Ophelia to come back to her family’s B&B and Kyle to continue living in Hollywood.

Kyle comes home with writers block and knows that the story he has to tell is his and the love of his life’s. Ophelia is the love of his life. From the minute that she opens the door of the B&B there can be no doubt that these two still belong together. But can they move past the history that still haunts both of them, figure out how to open their hearts, and find love again? I was so excited at the first interaction in the present time between them. I could feel the heat, feel the excitement at seeing each other again, but I could also feel the fear they both had in opening their hearts to each other.

A Brand New Beginning is the perfect romance story. It is sweet, it is moving, and it is beautiful. There is two amazing people who loved/love each other as no one else can. There is amazing friends and family that stand by the two of them pushing them to find each other while giving them the space needed to be true to themselves too.

This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and heroine. Ophelia and Kyle were well-written characters. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

You seriously can't go wrong with a Jennifer Probst book! Although I haven't read this series in a sequence for whatever reason, it still did not take away the pleasure of knowing these Bishop siblings and their happily ever afters.

Book 2 of the Stay series gives Kyle and Ophelia their second chance to make a future. But they have a past history of love, broken dreams, regrets and trust that they need to go repair, before they can even find it in their hearts to forgive each other and truly embrace the love that never diminished between them.

A truly heartfelt story from Jennifer Probst!

A BRAND NEW ENDING is the second book in the STAY series, and I can’t wait for more! This was a wonderful continuation of the first book, THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD, where we meet up with Ophelia and her siblings in town. The story is set in upstate New York and has a small town feel.

This is Ophelia and Kyle’s story, and the prologue set the stage. It’s an emotional read of young love that goes astray and isn’t all they thought it would be. Ophelia and Kyle run away at eighteen to make a name for themselves—he as a screenwriter and she as a singer. Their dreams don’t pan out, and even ten years later their families still don’t know all their secrets. The characters are complex, and we get to learn about them and their history a little at a time.

Kyle returns home to write his next screenplay, which is totally different than the action films he usually writes. He wants to write it at Ophelia’s inn, but she wants no part of it since her heart was broken many years ago and has still not healed. She’s not sure she can be so close to Kyle since it will bring up memories and her heartache all over again.

There are lots of twists and turns to the story. Kyle’s dad has a major role, although he’s one of the reasons that Kyle ran away at such a young age and never looked back. Watching both Kyle and his dad come to terms with their past, along with Ophelia’s hand in the present, was both heartwarming and often tense due to the emotional memories. We get to see how Ethan and Mia’s relationship is going and also meet up with Ophelia and Ethan’s sister, Harper, who runs the horse farm and is a loner too.

A BRAND NEW ENDING has it all: family and friends, small town gossip, romance and love. The story flows nicely, and I liked the closure with the epilogue, which takes place five weeks after the story ends. I can’t wait to meet up with all the characters in future stories. And I loved the way the title plays into the story.

Ms. Probst is an author who has been on my radar, but I hadn’t read any of her books before the first book in this series, earlier this year. I hope to rectify that and have added some of her books to my always growing TBR pile!

This is the second installment in this series and oh so good! Kyle has come back and needs to stay at the B&B but Ophelia turns him away, after all she cannot have him staying with her after she ran away from their marriage. Oh yeah, the marriage her family doesn't know about, and the marriage she doesn't realize didn't end in divorce as they had planned because of a scammer attorney. Kyle has had writer's block and is tired of writing the same thing and knows that coming home will do the trick, that and he wants Ophelia back. These two are something special and so is the entire family. Watching them learn to love again was great but will it last knowing Kyle will eventually have to go back to LA? Definitely a recommended read for me!

This is a sweet slow-burn second chance romance. The characters are very well developed, I could relate to Ophelia and understood her hesitation, but also liked Kyle and his persistence. Their interactions are great, make for a slow build up that feels very realistic. Since this is a second chance romance, there are some flashbacks. I tend to find flashbacks problematic when the interrupt the flow of the story and make it feel disjointed. The flashbacks in this book are done just right. As Kyle writes a screenplay of his life and his love for Ophelia, his writing fills us in on their history while keeping us firmly in the present. I enjoyed this book!

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A story of second chances, of secrets revealed, Jennifer yet again draws us into her world. I particularly enjoyed the way we saw into Ophelia and Kyle's past through the screenplay.. The perfect blend of romantic, sexy and heartwarming.

Ophelia and Kyle had teenage dreams for the future; she was a talented singer and he was a gifted writer, but did they really have the same dream at all? Kyle thought they both wanted the same thing but they were so young when they ran away that he underestimated how much Ophelia loved working at the Inn with her family. Ophelia agreed to go with Kyle because she feared that if she said no, she would lose him forever. Once they got to California, Kyle was too wrapped up in his own career and he ignored Ophelia and never listened to her when she shared her feelings with him. So she did the only thing she could do; she left him.

Did Kyle return home to get Ophelia back or to write his screenplay? Would he have come home if he hadn’t been on a deadline? Kyle had no idea that he had treated Ophelia so poorly when they were first married and had no clue as to why she left him.

Ophelia was shocked when Kyle knocked on her door and she realized that the problems they have now are the result of their unresolved feelings for each other. They never wanted the same thing and how can she possibly trust Kyle a second time when she knows he could return to California. She needed to protect her heart from loving him again.

Forgiveness is the most important factor in any relationship and in this story Ophelia must forgive Kyle, and he also needs to forgive his father and himself, if he can ever find happiness again.

Ophelia and Kyle’s journey was filled with laughter, tears, intense conversations and passionate encounters. They had known each other for a long time but it wasn’t until Kyle put a pen to paper, did they truly know what the future held for them. I absolutely loved their story and it made me feel that true love does conquer all.

I devoured this book right after reading the first book in this series because I needed to see what would happen with the next set of characters; Ophelia and Kyle.

A second chance romance that has me smiling and swooning and totally wanting both Ophelia and Kyle to get their happily ever after.

Great book to enjoy this summer while lounging at the pool or beach.

Book two starts near enough where book one ended, with Ethan announcing to his sister Ophelia, that their childhood friend Kyle will be staying at the Inn for three months. Horrified by this, Ophelia categorically states, No. End off.

Kyle needs to come home, he has a screenplay to write that can only be done in Gardiner. A place that draws him and also fills him with dread. The last time he saw Ophelia was when she left him in LA. There is also his father, not spoken too for 10 years.

A story of second chances, of secrets revealed, Jennifer yet again draws us into her world. I particularly enjoyed the way we saw into Ophelia and Kyle's past through the screenplay.

I own the first book in signed print and loved it. This book is slowing becoming my favorite but that's not shocking because every book of Mrs. Probst has become my favorite. She puts out stellar romantic fiction on the regular and her characters are true to life. She is always on my TBR pile.

I had a ton of fun reading this book. It was my first Jennifer Probst novel and I'm hooked, now I want to read everything of hers that I can get my hands on.

Ophelia and Kyle are such a beautiful couple. Each character has a fantastic background and the way they come back together was just absolutely perfect. I couldn't be more happy for the both of them. The complement each other beautifully and help to fight each other's weaknesses.

The writing was well done and the pacing was also well done. I think the author did a great job and there is nothing that could have been improved. Grammar was not a problem and there wasn't any strange vocabulary.

As a second chance romance, I believe this was one of the most realistic ones I've read in a while. The feelings and situations were relatable and even when sometimes you had sad moments, the good times and the HEA at the end were so worth it.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book provided by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

A Brand New Ending by Jennifer Probst was the perfect blend of romantic, sexy, and heartwarming.

When I first heard that Jennifer was writing a second novel in her Stay series, I was desperately hoping that it would be Ophelia's story. While reading the first book, The Start of Something Good, I was compelled and intrigued about Ophelia. That is why, when I finally heard the synopsis for this book, I was so happy.

Ophelia is a beautifully written character. She has been through heartbreak so many times in her life. First, with her one true love, and then with her mom. Not to mention the countless "accidents" her brother was involved in that her worrying about him. She is the one person in the family who takes care of everyone else. She makes sure they are okay, and have everything they need. Add in the fact that she runs the Inn, and all she really does it look after everyone, guests included. Now that Kyle is back in her life, she finally has someone to look after her for once.

Kyle was a surprise to me. Going into this book, we didn't know too much about him. We knew he was Ophelia's love in their younger years, but nothing since then. Without giving away any spoilers, I will say he turned out to be a great boyfriend. He has gone through his share of demons as well, but thanks to Ophelia, he is finally able to get some closure, and more forward with his life.

Ophelia and Kyle are the perfect pair. They complement each other perfectly, and made this story one that is definitely worth reading.

4/5 Stars!
