I. Loved. It!!!! Andi and Reid are perfect!!! Throw in a cute as pie 7 year old and a nosy as hell neighbor and you have the perfect story of adorable moments and sass. All the sass! loved this book! |
Fun, original Rom Com While Andi is a little cynical both she and Reid are likable realistic characters thanks to Rachel Blaufeld's wonderful way with words. I had never read any of Rachel Blaufeld's before, it was the initial book blurb that caught my attention and I'm glad I took a chance on this well paced story that kept my attention from beginning to end. I especially loved how the epilogue made me smile. I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley. |
***4 Stars*** The description was the lure. I mean, I do the reviewer/blogger-ish thing so that peaked my interest and when you add in the whole single parent thing I and my curiosity got the better of me. And I have to say I really enjoyed the book. I was hooked from the first page and found it to be fun and sweet, and though relatively low on angst and drama, it had just enough moments of frustration to keep things interesting until the very end. I really liked Andi, even when there were times where I wanted to reach into my Kindle and shake a little (or a lot of) sense into her. She was burned, badly, and while it could have totally crippled her, she pulled on her shitkickers and did what needed to be done for her daughter, and I have nothing but admiration for her in that respect. But she does have walls and while I don’t blame her at all, they blind her to quite a few things, including herself. Reid is hard not to love. I mean the man is laid back and yet underneath that is a stubborn determination that screams alpha AF male. But what got me was his honesty. The sincerity in his words, and more importantly, actions, made it easy to fall for the man and be #TeamReid, at least in most cases. Andi and Reid’s journey was a sweet and awkward journey, but overall it was a fun one. I won’t deny that there was a good amount of eye rolling going on as Reid charmingly bulldozed his way into Andi’s life (with the help of Gabby and Leona) while Andi waffled between her need to be an island and wanting to go all swoony over Reid, but it also kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and while I didn’t get a that deep unabiding connection from them, I did see something that could grow with time. As for the big elephant hanging out in their relationship. I’m on the fence on how I feel about it. While part of me feels that Andi should have come clean about being the UAB, I also get why she didn’t because trust comes in many forms and she trusted Reid with what was THE most important part of her world. And as for Reid and his reaction. I also don’t blame him at all. He gave everything and to expect the same in return is something I understand, so hence the fence. The other thing is that I wish there had been a bit more grovelling. I don’t mind a relatively simple reconciliation, but I just needed a little more in the end. This was my first read by the author and I was hooked from the first page. The writing was engaging and I enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. As for the secondary cast of characters, Gabby and Leona were a lot of fun and I loved what they brought to the story. So, if you’re in the mood for a romance more on the sweet side, then this is the one for you! |
Hot for His Girl introduced me to Rachel Blaufeld for the first time, and now I know to be on the lookout for this author. First of all, this cover has got to be one of the best (and hottest) that I've seen in awhile. That's what initially drew me to this book. But the love doesn't end there! The premise of Hot for His Girl intrigued me, and I wanted to see where the author would go with it. Furthermore, both Andi and Reid were such likable characters I couldn't help but be invested in their HEA, and the dual POV was engaging. The secondary characters were nothing to flinch at either, especially Gabby (Andi's daughter) and Leona (the neighbor). The chemistry and attraction between Andi and Reid was delicious, the banter entertaining, the nerves and persistence sweet, the angst and drama low-key. All in all, it was a wonderful romance. The thing that bothered me was how long Andi held out before revealing her secret, but again, at least the resolution was not overly dramatic. ***I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.*** |

This was one of the sweetest books I have read in a long time. Andi and Reid are perfection. And Reid is not the typical romance bad boy. He's a good guy, a genuinely good guy. And Andi is a strong, single mom, taking life by the horns and paving her own way. Until Reid knocks her on her ass. ;) This was a great story, low angst, no tears, just cute and sweet. I highly suggest reading this if you need a break from all the bad boys and angst. This is a perfect palate cleanser. I couldn't have enjoyed it more. |
I received an ARC in return for an honest review, the words and opinions below are 100% honest and entirely my own. I want to start off this review by saying that before I came across this book via NetGalley I had not heard of, or read any of Rachel's books. I knew nothing of her writing style, but the synopsis for this book got my attention and I just had to try my luck and request an arc! I've never been so glad I took the risk! Because oh boy! That was one hell of a read! Hot For His Girl is a standalone novel, and tells the story of independent single mom Andi Schwartz who earns money to care for herself and her little girl as a sarcastic anonymous blogger, who spends a lot of her time calling other blogs out on their rubbish. She's built up so many walls in order to protect herself and her daughter. Reid Fellows is a statistics professor by day, and a shirtless easy on the eyes blogger by night, and potentially the sweetest man on earth (in my opinion.) When Andi's twin sister calls in an absolute tiz about the fact her husband has started following Reid's blog, convinced that her husband is using Reid's tips on grill and groom to help him attract another woman. Andi tells her sister that she's being ridiculous, but agrees to do some research into Reid and his blog to put her sister's mind at ease. As soon as Andi checks out Reid… I mean, Reid's blog, she's hooked. And then the two bloggers meet. Andi knows who Reid is, but he has no idea who she is, and so a web of love deception and betrayal begins to spin online and in real life... I have to say. This book is the cutest, funniest and most heartwarming book I have read in a while. I had all the emotions whilst reading this book... ALL of them! I truly loved this book and definitely intend to recommend it! I devoured it within 24 hours! If your looking for a five star, heartwarming romance guaranteed to have you grinning and feeling like a soppy idiot... this is the one for you! Congratulations on an incredible standalone Rachel! |
WOW! Just...WOW!!! I read a lot of good books. Some great books. And some exceptional books. To me, this book was exceptional! I could hardly put it down in order to go to work, sleep and take care of my son. Andi is a single mom who blogs anonymously. Reid is a blogger who has his name out there. Both are successful. They do not know each other in the beginning. This is an important fact you will notice while reading this story. Andi comes across his blog when her sister asks her to check it out since she thinks her husband is up to no good and now reads it. (LOL!) Then on Halloween, she ends up at his house while her daughter and her friend are trick or treating. Add in another few run-ins and they finally go on a date. Only, Andi refuses to call it a date. With her daughter. To fun-zone. (Insert another laugh here!) I loved the blogger aspect of this story since I have never read this exact type of story. Talk about Refreshing! I truly enjoyed this book from the beginning until the end. I'm sad the book is over. I highly recommend it! |
3 stars. When I started this book I was really enjoying it. I loved Andi's voice. She was funny and snarky and doing what she need to raise her daughter on her own. I loved Reid. He was an adorable geek who loved his blog. They kept running into each other and Reid wore Andi down (with the help of the cute daughter and nosy neighbor). Then Andi made a mountain out of a mole hill. I'm still not sure why she didn't just tell him. He loved her blog and was in contact with her alter ego about it. I got really irritated with her nonsense. It was not that big of a deal. And then when Reid found out, he reaction was WAAAY over the top. How, exactly, was he a pawn??? Very confused. This was a good concept with an interesting view into blogging. However, the execution of the plot was tepid. |
A fantastic romcom read! Loved how Reid is a stat professor by day, sexy blog griller by night. Andi is a single mom, supporting her daughter the only way she can and be home with her at the same time. When their paths cross... flirty banter and hot chemistry ignite. Hold on to laugh out loud moments, and times you’ll swoon hard. I really enjoyed this story. I highly recommend this book. |
This is such a sweet story. I giggled a little here and there and got a little emotional toward the end too. This single parent read brings everything you want to the table while reading. Andi is a strong, independent and a bit of a hermit single mom. She sacrifices everything for her daughter. She is amazing and I love her sarcastic was when it comes to her blog. Once she meets Reid in person you know it's going to be a matter of time before sparks fly. I really loved the slow build to their relationship. Reid is a hot professor, super sweet and a blogger by night. Reid is amazing with Andi's daughter. That right there is a plus in my book. I loved Andi's meddling neighbor too. I couldn't put this book down. I loved it so much. Rachel Blaufeld did a fantastic job making you feel part of Andi and Reid's inner circle. For all you single parent, swoon worthy males, snarky females and meddling neighbor lovers out there this book is just what you have been waiting for. Go one click this one |
This is my first time reading anything by this author and I’m glad that I requested it. I thought it was an easy light read, I finished it in a couple of hours. Andi and Reid are really cute and fun together. I liked the storyline with both of them being bloggers, I’m not one so it was neat seeing all the hard work it takes. Reid is such a sweetheart. I enjoyed all the parts with him and Andi’s daughter, Gabby. I loved the epilogue. It had me smiling from ear to ear it was so stinkin’ cute! |
This was a cute romance. Andi and Reid were just too adorable together. Gabby had me at her first few lines in the story. Totally enjoyed the beauty within this story. As a blogger myself I loved that aspect of the story as well. |
Reid is just a bumbling mess at times, “so? I like kids . I was a kid a long time ago. Plus, even if I didn’t like kids, I wasn’t inviting your kid to have a drink. But to clarify, I do like kids.” Reid is just a very passionate man, “I don’t give a ***t. If they don’t think it, they’re stupid. And who cares? Because it means more for me . All mine,” he says, his voice gruff and rumbly." I liked this book, I really loved Reid. |
This is my first book by this author and well it was different than I have ever read before. I enjoyed it and felt it was well written but I wasn't that into it and I didn't feel like I really I connected to the characters. At times it was amusing, not funny but amusing, as I said I enjoyed it. It stars single mommy and anonymous blogger Andi. She tells her readership about products and she also talks about gossip and is sorta mean girl about other bloggers. She does this all without anyone knowing who she is which is why she runs her blog as anonymous. She has a sister who is married and the sisters husband loves a single guys blog about grilling and that is where she sees Reid for the first time. Then she discovers they live locally when her daughter trick or treats at his house. Meanwhile Reid has emailed Andi as her blogger persona to get some blogging advice. hen he keeps running into her around town, he falls into lust and they start a relationship. The big issue is she never tells him she is the anonymous blogger and that she knew him from his private emails for advice and I truly didn't understand why she never tells him. It really kept me very distant from her and I really liked Reid but Andi came off very standoffish. I did enjoy the story but I did not love it. It definitely was original and enjoyable. |
Such a sweet, funny, feel good book, it wasn’t at all what I was expecting (I’ll admit I went in blind without reading the blurb, Rachel Blaufeld is an instant one click for me) but I was not disappointed. Reid is a little nerdy, a little funny and a whole lot sweet and Andi is a kick ass single mum who puts her kid above all else. I really enjoyed this whole book and the overall lack of pointless drama. 5 stars! |
Very good read! I definitely enjoyed this book! This is Andi and Reid book, Andi is a snarky blogger that kind of cuts down other bloggers and she's kind of sick of herself lol she started the whole blog when at a convention she overheard people making fun of her mom blog so she gave that up went undercover and started her snarky blog on the sly! Reid is straight forward a blogger for grilling and manly stuff lol I really liked both characters! Andi was so funny I liked her alot! I highly recommend this book it was funny, witty, charming, a little drama, definitely hot, and just a fun read! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me! |
