I can't draw to save my life but Kawaii Doodle Cuties is easy to follow and even I was able to create something that wasn't a stick man.

A very fun and VERY cute book filled with doodles of all things Kawaii. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the pages and choosing which doodle I wanted to attempt. Perfect for anyone who like to doodle, or anyone who likes cute things.

Thank you to NetGalley, as well as the publisher for providing me with a digital copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Super super cute and easy to understand and replicate! I'm quite a fan of chibi style illustrations but not much of an artist myself, and yet I'm quite hopeful I'll get something good out of it lol

TOO CUTE. I can't draw anything but even I feel like I could make some of the simpler things in this book. Definitely a good buy for any aspiring doodler :)

This cute book will teach you how to draw the doodles and kawaii character that you can see on the cover of the book and more. With step by step illustrations and instructions, you can take your own time practicing how to draw these cute little characters.

Fun For Kids and Newbies:
The book is really nice to any beginner, but I would definitely recommend it for kids because the featured characters are sure to inspire them to practice and practice.
My kids love to draw and color, but they get frustrated when they can’t draw what they can see in their mind’s eye. So with this book as a guide, they can easily follow the instructions and since I can see what they are trying to draw, is also easier for me to offer help.

I tried to draw some of the kawaii cuties as well, and I was surprisingly proud of myself. I’m not the best when it comes to drawing, so it was super fun and rewarding to see I can draw these cuties too! It’s given me the confidence to keep practicing and to finally get this skill off my bucket list!

This book features more than 65 kawaii characters. From cute food and dessert to animals and flowers.

It is an overstatement, but I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to learn how to draw kawaii characters.

This book has some of the most adorable pictures I have seen in a while. On practically every page, I just wanted (and sometimes did) squeal 'Kawaiiiiii"! Kawaii Doodle Cuties gives step-by-step instructions on how to make a variety of cute doodles. The instructions, along with the accompanying illustrations, are very easy to follow, even to those of us who are less than talented at art. I loved this book, and even managed some halfway decent doodles as a result. This book is a great option for anyone interested in learning how to draw this style of artwork.

If you like to doodle but sometimes need prompts for cute doodle subjects, this book will come in handy. The doodles are cute japanese-style (called kawaii) and the instructions are easy to understand. While this is not a book for most serious artists, it's a treasure trove for kids or adults that are looking for light art direction.

I can't resist a doodle and Kawaii is endearing and sweet. Great ideas that even beginners can find doable and inspiring.

This book is filled with little doodles from around the world that you can learn to draw yourself. I was personally not blessed with the ability to draw. I cannot make a straight line even with a ruler, but I have always wanted to be able to draw. This easy to follow book with step by step instructions and pictures even had me drawing some of the doodles and if I may so myself they looked pretty good.

This book is great for anyone interested in doodling. From beginners to full on doodle artists. The doodles are all adorable. They are broken down into sections as well. Things like foods, places, and other things.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.

What I Liked

Right off the bat, I really liked the overall look of this book. It is cute, just like the title says. The authors style is really defined in this book, when it comes both to color pallet and technique. I also like how simple a majority of these are. While you do need to be able to draw ovals, circles, triangles, and other shapes to follow the instructions, with practice you will be able to follow most of these with ease.

I also loved how this book had adorable doodles from many, many countries. Including, USA, Mexico, Australia, Spain, Cuba and many more. They ranged from buildings to foods, a very wide array to represent each country in there. I will admit I was a bit partial towards the foods, what can I say? I love food and they were just too kawaii. They truly lived up to the title.

What I Didn’t Like

Some of the step by step recreations kinda take weird jumps. One example is the crepe. You go from adding. a few simple lines to then in the next stop add in all of the cream and. strawberries without giving a starting point. While the author does say to fill it with your own favorite toppings, it would be nice to practice drawing the ones in the book with more guidance to get better with perspective and layering. I do appreciate the author trying to give the reader more control, while learning there need to be more guidance, then once mastered move on.

Overall Thoughts

Overall I think this is a really fun drawing book. I think it gives great practice when it comes to learning to draw basic shapes and developing better hand control while drawing. While some of the tutorials take up jumps in the steps as stated before, you can figure it out with some time. As with anything new you are learning with practice, you improve. If you are looking to learn to draw or just want to play around, I think this is an adorable option for you.

This book is so cute! The adorable colorful doodles made me smile a lot. I loved the different kawaii foods the most! Unfortunately I'm still really bad at drawing... ;) But now I know how to practice and improve my art skills in the cutest way.

An absolutely adorable how-to book. In a world filled with how to draw manga, portraits, and landscapes, this books stands out for its cute doodles and straightforward, simple instructions. The images range from simple to surprisingly complex but the process for each is the same.

As an artist myself, I would recommend this to those wanting to explore this style and don't know where to start.

Kawaii Doodle Cuties by Zainab Khan teaches in the art of crafting adorable kawaii art, from happy sushi to cute clothing. After an introduction to kawaii art, tools, and a tips'n'tricks section, the rest is divided by nature of the objects. The first chapter is foods from around the world. Next is a nature chapter, followed by ones on architecture, animals, transportation methods, clothing, and random objects that don't really fit any of the other categories. There's a final section with several search and find puzzles that can also be coloring pages.

Thus is a wonderful book for teaching the art of kawaii. I tried my hand at it, but my cubs proved better. Haha. My efforts weren't too bad though, and it influenced what and how I am likely to Doodle when stuck on the phone. Perfect for the artists or budding artists out there!

This was a pretty solid how-to book for artists of any skill level. I had my kids of various ages try some of the techniques and I tried them as well. I'm horrible at art but even I improved some. To be honest, it even entertained me just looking at the cuteness. My youngest loves all things kawaii and art so it was a perfect way for her to spend some time. This is definitely something I would buy as a gift for others. If you're looking for a holiday gift for an artist in your life, I definitely think you should consider this.

Thank you Pic Candle, Zainab Khan, Quarto Publishing Group, Race Point Publishing, and NetGalley for the electronic copy they provided me to enjoy and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.

True to the name of Kawaii, these are very cute drawings. The book is divided into sections including adorable food, nature and wonders, architecture, animals and birds, and more. Each has been assign a country of inspiration and I must say they are cute and the instructions to draw them are very detailed.
At the end of the book there are some page size drawing of a menagerie of kawaii doodles with a challenge to find an designated individual one.
A fun book both for the young and old and really, really cute.

My 7-yr-old daughter already has 'Kawaii: How To Draw Really Cute Stuff' and takes it with her everywhere. She loves it and has learnt a lot from it, so I was very excited to see this book. However, on a quick flick though it was clear that the drawings in this book are so specific that they would hold much less appeal for her. The things she liked about the original -- characters you can learn to customise to your own style etc, the variety of different scenarios - from giraffes to astronauts -- has been replaced by a very narrow offering. Obviously this is an inevitable result of it being the nth book in the series, but it means it's not for us, despite the cuteness of the style. It might be more suitable for adults who are looking for inspiration for cake decorations for very specific events etc, but less so for little kids. Perhaps you could use it to introduce world cultures/geography and that might be nice, but in our family, drawing is one of the few things that happens unsupervised, so thats an educational opportunity we'll save for another time! Still love the Kawaii style though!
