I was excited for POWER SURGE because it features a non-binary protagonist. And while the story and writing was interesting, POWER SURGE unfortunately fell into some of my least favorite tropes. Erin is a chosen one and they’re the only one in their family/social circle who doesn’t know. Their closest relatives are keeping huge secrets from them. Erin, thinking the visions they’ve had since childhood are a psychological problem, has been on drugs for years. Many of the conflicts in POWER SURGE, at least in the first third, could have been solved by communication, which made it too frustrating for me to continue reading.

Power surge is a supernatural thriller encompassing gender neutral pronouns and the LGBT community. Erin is bound by fate to be a Demon Hunter. You’ll journey through the struggles of erins life and the mysteries of the supernatural would.
