SEEK. & DESTROY. ..by Alan McDermott A disc was delivered to Farooq showing that his friend Samar had been killed, he was the only one that knew were he was living. Now a message "we found you" came on the screen. Eva was with Carl in Munich,a good place to hide from the ESO. Now receiving a special ringtone, giving her a message, time was of the essence, and they needed to leave quickly. What ID to use that President Russell had given them. Farooq was not a fighter, almost in a panic without Eva to protect him.She sent out messages, to reassemble the team Who had broken the rules, and what would be sacrificed to regain it. A. powerful plot with many.characters, was it one of them. The author has keep readers in suspense to the end. Given ARC by Net Galley and Thomas Mercer for my voluntary review and my honest opinion. |

Former government operative Eva Driscoll is now living a new life, having avenged the death of her brother at the hands of the shadowy ESO. Her team is now scattered across the globe. All is well until she is contacted by a former team member, who tells her that the ESO is active once again and may be coming after her. Soon after this news, the children of two team members are kidnapped. The ransom: Eva Driscoll herself. Eva soon reassembles her team and based on data from the ESO itself, a mission is launched to find an island that doesn’t officially exist and rescue the kids. In an unexpected twist, it turns out that the former leader of the ESO is in fact still alive, having survived the last encounter with Driscoll. Seek and Destroy by Alan McDermott is the second novel in the Eva Driscoll series. McDermott is an accomplished author, having written six books in the Tom Gray series and a spin-off novel, Trojan, which has been shortlisted for ITW’s Best Original E-book novel of 2018. McDermott previously wrote applications for Britain’s NHS and switch to writing full time in 2014. Seek and Destroy also features the return of Tom Gray. This book is well written, with believable characters and a plot that will keep you guessing until the end. I would recommend reading the prior book first so that you fully understand what led to the events in this book. I would give this 4/5 stars. *A copy of this ebook was the only consideration received in exchange for this review.* |
I really wish I’d read the first book in the series before starting this one. The characters weren’t as “fleshed out” as I would have liked (but I’ll take the blame for that). Action and more action piled on top keep the story moving as the evil EOS comes back to life to haunt our protagonist and her crew. Plot development is well-paced as the story unfolds leaving the reader anxious for the next installment. |

A “Dead Man” back with a vengeance and when he happens to be one of the world’s richest, money and ethics mean nothing. Snatching kids just to get to who you want adds up to a whole lot of trouble for Eva Driscoll and her team but then, as one of the kids is Tom Gray’s child, there is just nowhere for even a dead man to hide and real vengeance is about to be unleashed . A story that can knot your stomach unfolds though I did think the end was just a little below par. Perhaps more to come ? |

Another fast-paced action thriller from this author. The character development wasn't as thorough as the first book in this new series, but it was okay. Twists and turns take the reader to unexpected developments but the ending is predictable. All in all a good, fast read. Read it in one sitting so the fast pacing held my attention well. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for providing a copy for me to read. This is my voluntary and honest review. |

Lots of action, so it's never dull. Strong characters that are easy to follow, but the logic isn't always there. |

Another great story from Alan McDermott. This is the second in the Eva Driscoll series and both have been superb. Worth reading the books in order though. |
I think some people must not have heard the phrase "don't poke the bear". Eva's former nemesis finds a way to locate one of her friends. That starts a whole chain of events that if he had left her alone would never have happened. This book has plenty of action and some dramatic moments. When Tom Gray and Eva Driscoll get their dander up, everyone needs to watch out. Needless to say, there is violence as well as adult language and situations. |

Another winner for Alan McDermott and his heroine, Eva Driscoll. Eva is former CIA and is trying to stay under the radar after their last death-defying adventure. In this second book in the series the leader of EOS has faked his death. He seeks revenge and plans to put Eva and her friends out of business…permanently. Eva receives a secure message from her former CIA hacker. He is in trouble; EOS has killed his friend and he is probably next. Eva messages the men who aided her in the first book to warn them that they may be in danger. Tom Gray is attacked and knows that he and his five-year old daughter are in danger. It will take the combined efforts of the entire team to thwart the mad man who is trying to take them out. Eva is a kickass heroine who attempts to stay one step ahead while trying to protect her team and their families. Will they all make it out alive? Will they finally put an end to the former head of EOS? This was a thrill ride from the very beginning as the involved plot methodically takes you through Eva and the teams’ efforts to combat evil. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy) |

After having enjoyed the first book in the series I was really looking forward to the second one and was not disappointed.. Alan outdid himself with this one. A fast moving thriller that has more than action. It nicely develops the various characters. Each one unique in their own way. Emotions tend to run high which is very understandable where the lives of children are endangered. Without giving away the story as in real life there are some loses along the way. The ending is a bit of a surprise. No cliffhanger but definitely a bit of possibility at a continuation of the series. You can read this book as a stand-alone but if you haven't read the first book do yourself a favor and read "Run and Hide" first. |
Eva Driscoll and her partner Carl thought they had made a clean break from their superspy past. But the ESO does not give up its quarry so easy. They are embedded in all branches of business, finance and government, slowly putting their plan for world domination into action. But a faction within the ESO seem hellbent on rushing towards their endgame and Eva is one of the wrinkles in their plan! Eva must gather together his disparate team and along with Tom Gray she plans to end the ESO once and for all. But the ESO takes no prisoners and everyone close to their targets are fair game, even small children. Very fast paced, action filled thriller. Great set pieces of action interwoven with some pretty nifty character driven scenes. I had a lump in my throat at the scenes involving the threat towards the children and felt my blood boiling! That is one nasty nanny! As with life there are some losses along the way and as usual the ESO decides to have back ups to their back ups plans. They really are Machiavellian!! Great read. |

Seek and Destroy by Alan McDermott is the second outing for ex CIA operative Eva Driscoll who she seen the last of the ESO an agency run by the rich and seemingly above the law and free to do as they please, when one of Eva’s former colleagues is traced and murdered it becomes clear that the ESO are still in existence and out for revenge.Eva is joined by Tom Gray whom readers of Alan McDermott’s books will be familiar with from the Tom Gray series along with a few ex colleagues do all they can to finally put an end to the most powerful and corrupt agencies in America.Once again the author has produced an excellent fast paced action thriller. I would like to thank Alan McDermott,Netgalley Amazon Publishing UK and Thomas and Mercer for the opportunity to read Seek and Destroy. |
Action packed from start to finish! I was reading until the early hours and was torn between wanting to finish it but not wanting it to end. Would make a great series or film! Hope to see more of Eva and Tom |
