Suzanne McBride just wants everything perfect, her daughters are coming home for Christmas, business is booming and things are great. Suzanne is stressed, not only is her nightmares still coming but her three girls are going to be together and she just wants them all to be happy. Suzanne adopted the three girls as children and just wants them to be happy, healthy and close. Posy lives there, primed to take over the business when Suzanne retired, Posy loves the mountains, climbing and adventure. Beth is beautiful, has her own little girls and the perfect family life but secretly wants more, something for her. Hannah is career driven and keeps her cards closest to her chest, she doesn't call Suzanne mum and even her sisters feel she is keeping them at length. This will be the Christmas they all need to be honest with themselves, each other and with honesty comes truths, upset and things that will change the family as they know it.

The chapters jump between the characters, seamlessly giving the reader a chance to get to know each of the ladies, how they are and perceived by each other. How they all appear to each other but as we read their chapters we see a different side to them or how they actually see themselves.

As with any family there are issues, perceptions, anger, the past influencing the present/future and this family are no different. The setting is predominantly the Scottish highlands, it is cold, snowy and the perfect setting for a Christmas themed story. If you like family dramas, relationships, love, siblings and unresolved issues from childhood impacting adulthood you will love this. Sank it pretty much in one sitting, characters you can either relate to or invest in, 4/5 for me this time. I will absolutely be looking out for more by this author and actually think I have one or two on my tbrm.

I really loved this book. It gave me all the cosy Christmas vibes, and was perfect for snuggling up and reading on a rainy day. The characters were built up well, mostly by their interactions with one another, and that isn’t something I find happens often in books, so it was refreshing. The only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars, is that I found myself forgetting which character was which, and it was slightly confusing at the start!

The Christmas Sisters was my favourite holiday read, Highlighting a relatable situation that we all put ourselves in every year. Which can cause the utmost anxiety and stress. But when the family pressures, secrets all come to the surface we learn that communication is key.

This book was beautiful, funny, moving and with real heart-wrenching moments. At its very core is love and the importance of family.

Best Christmassy read I have read in many years.

This is Christmas writing at its' very best! A story full of heart that just lets you wallow in all the warmth of a wonderful cast of characters!

A tragedy that happened 25 years ago still plays a major role in the lives of the McBrides, and when they all come together to spend Christmas with each other, the tensions and guilt are still plain for all to see and it's how that affects their relationships with one another that is the strength of this story and just keeps you wanting more!

Suzanne and Stewart love seeing their 3 daughters - Beth, Hannah and Posy - but with all 3 girls having such different personalities and lives it isnt very often that they can all be together. But this Christmas is different and they're all set for a lovely family reunion in the mountains that have been home to the McBrides for many years.

Posy is already there living and working, so she sees close up what effect the past has taken on everyone, but she's such a lovely personality (and definitely my favourite of the sisters!) that she always tries to be the one doing the right thing and never puts herself first. That may be about to change though with the arrival of Luke who is staying at the resort but has clicked with Posy over their shared interests!

Beth and Hannah are both living in America but very different lifestyles - Beth is a mother and gave up a successful career to do the family thing, but that is beginning to take its' toll and she is thinking about dipping her toe back into work again - if only her husband Jason was thinking the same way! And as for Hannah, she's all about work!! Even her family don't normally get a look in, so they're surprised when she shows up early and seems a little preoccupied with things.

The connection between all the characters was what hooked me. You could tell they all loved one another so much, but there was still so much that was unsaid between them that had caused resentment and assumptions over the years that gave this reunion an edge. Definitely a case of them thinking the grass is always greener on the other side as they looked at their siblings lives and envied different aspects.

Each sister was given plenty of time in this book to share their stories and even had plenty of time to look back at the tragedy that struck them all so early in their lives. And that made it such a joy to read as you felt you knew where each sister was coming from as they struggled to decide what to do that was right for them.

Loved it!!

5☆ A Heartwarming, Poignant and Enchanting Romance.

The Christmas Sisters is a Heartwarming, Poignant and Touching story of Family, Relationships, Secrets, New Beginnings and a sprinkle or Romance and Festive Magic.

Beth, Hannah and Posy are all sisters.
But their relationships are far from rosy. They barely speak, or get together, their relationship is strained and somewhat Taut.
Suzanne their Mother, is desperate to bring the family back together this Christmas.

But with a tragic accident in the past, Secrets, nightmares, guilt and fraught relationships, can Suzanne repair her family or is it all too late?

Each of the chapters are told by each characters points of view, which I really enjoyed. I found myself excited to get to the next chapter to find out more.

Each of the Sisters are very different. Hannah is a closed Book, emotionally shut off, kept her secrets to herself, threw herself into work. Just starting a budding relationshio with the handsome Adam, who just gets her!

Beth a mum of two, she appears to be struggling with motherhood, and seems to feel slightly suffocated, and in need of gaining a lil independence back, as she contemplates going back to work.

Posy the youngest sister, she's very carefree and has a wonderful endearing charm about her. Working on the mountain rescue with her adorable fur Baby.

I really connected with each of the characters, they were all so deeply flawed, yet endearing and likeable. I was willing for them to open up and communicate with each other, as that's exactly what needed to happen... too many painful buried feelings and hurt. I really did feel for each of them.

The Christmas Sisters is a poignant Story about Family, Loss, Grief, Relationships, Trust, Forgiveness, Acceptance, finding Love, New Beginnings and coming together, with a good dose of Christmas Magic.
But don't worry there is also plenty of sisterly drama, Witt, humour and romance to keep you hooked.

Sarah Morgan has weaved her magic once again, she always writes the most heartwarming, compelling, mesmerising and amazing stories.
With loveable colourful characters and an endearing storyline, I found i devoured this beautifully Enchanting Story in one go.

Thank you to Isabel at HQ Digital for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this book because it managed to tell the story from many different viewpoints without ever becoming repetitive or confusing. Each character was distinct yet likeable, and situations and explanations flowed without ever seeming contrived. A lovely story from a reliably enjoyable author.

The Christmas Sisters is written by Sarah Morgan, is set in Glensay in the Scottish Highlands and tells the tale of three sisters, Hannah, Beth and Posy Mcbride preparing to spend Christmas with their family in Scotland. Suzanne adopted the three girls after their biological mother and father were killed in a tragic accident 25 years ago. The story, therefore focuses upon the daughters, their relationship with each other and her, how the loss of their parents has affected them and their own families/ boyfriends.

Suzanne is trying to recreate the perfect family Christmas but it is threatening to fall apart as the past comes back to haunt the three girls and their current issues and failing relationships risk subsuming the whole Christmastime experience.

As a consequence of the death of her parents Hannah has been left unable to trust or get emotionally close to anyone. Love is an anathema to her. She is also trying to hide certain secrets which in turn is pushing her to her limits Beth has become the cliched over protective parent and her marriage is falling apart and Posy wants to travel the world and ice climb but does not do so as she is terrified this will upset her parents.

The girls’ fears, concerns and issues must be confronted and addressed so they can move on, not only to have a perfect Christmas but also move on in life and finally recover from the horrors of losing their parents at such young ages. Suzanne is the lynch pin to the storyline, holding the other characters together.

This book is traditional festive reading fare. Combining a smattering of rom-com with family

Combining a smattering of rom-com wit and humour with family tragedy, sisters struggling to make and maintain family bonds and sisterly relationships and placing them all in the snowy, wintry confines of Glensay in the Scottish highlands, Sarah Morgan crafted a well written, well thought out book that would not only appeal to her die hard romance readers but would also catch the attention of readers who enjoy familial relationship and interaction style novels.

I received this book via Netgalley and HQ in exchange for a honest review. I am a #MillsAndBoonInsider #netgalley

I am a massive fan of Sarah Morgan and love all her books, and whist I did like this book, I found myself missing the romance that makes her books so magical. It took me longer to get into the story and find a connection with the three sisters, but once I did, I really enjoyed it

I really, really enjoyed this family story and have no hesitation in highly recommending it! The tragedy which led to Suzanne McBride adopting three sisters is still impacting on all of their lives twenty five years later. The three sisters rarely get together now, except for at Christmas. This year, however, things are going to be very different for them all as they discover that assumptions about each other can be so wrong and they all have their own secrets. The story explores events from the past, reveals how they have influenced the young women in such different ways and how they reconnect and learn more about each other, love, family and healing themselves in this festive, heartwarming family story.

Sarah Morgan is one of my ‘go to’ authors when I want a story with great characters who come to life in the pages of her story and it is easy for the reader to empathise with. Set in a picturesque Scottish village that can be cut off during heavy snow, the close knit, supportive community is where the girls were brought up and where everyone knows everyone else – which can be a mixed blessing at times! Whilst Posy lives there all year round, the return of her two older sisters signals the start of revelations, surprises and a new understanding of everyone in their family and of themselves.

This is a lovely festive, family read, whatever the time of year and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories exploring the interactions, expectations and intricacies of family life with plenty of surprises and love along the way.

I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.
