Cute summer book! Very easy and read in one sitting. I loved the relationship between Nelly and Rafael and it was a fun read. My only annoyance was that I thought there was maybe one too many bickering scenes and I found the energy was off at one point during the book. Recommended for romcom lovers!

Nice easy read, a little predictable but no more than I expected from this genre of book.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

This was an okay read, it didn't wow me. I did think things happened way too fast in the book and there didn't seem to be a lot of conflict.

Didn't review in time for release, premise sounds really good will be picking up a physical copy and come back to review soon.

This book was so lighthearted and fun to read! I loved the entire contractual marriage arrangement and how they had to work through the different obstacles along with their constant bickering. I had a lot of fun reading about Nelly and Rafael’s fake arrangement turn into a serious relationship.

Fake relationships seem to be my guilty pleasure. Some of my favourite recent reads have been centred around this trope, and this one did not disappoint.
Nelly being an influencer was important to the storyline, however I did find it annoying how she often spoke in hashtags! Despite that I loved seeing her and Rafael getting closer as the story went on.
It was a solid sweet romance that I really enjoyed.

I enjoyed this book - not what I expected it was going to be when I started it. Easy read and enjoyable.

First time I’ve read a book by this author. It’s Light hearted fun read. A little slow in parts but overall I enjoyed it.

This was a fun and lighthearted read! The fake dating trope is usually very fun to read, and this was no different. They both know what they're doing when they get into it, but things just end up happening. I do think the transition from Nelly being engaged to becoming jealous of Rafael's friend was a little bit too quick, and some of the events after may have happened a little too soon. Personally I'm just not a fan of insta-love but I didn't find it overly bad in this book. I enjoyed myself reading it.

💃🏻 BOOK REVIEW 💃🏻

Synopsis: When Nelly Roberts is left in the lurch with not just a wedding but also a bridal magazine feature on the line, she has no choice but to substitute one groom for another. The fates align when she’s introduced to the gorgeous Rafael. He’s looking for a way to stay in the UK where he’s built the life he loves.

So they make a pact: act the perfect couple for as long as it takes for Nelly to get her wedding and Rafael to get his visa. The catch? Absolutely nobody can know the truth.

Review: This started out as a super light-hearted and enjoyable read that I was pretty eager to read in one sitting. But Nelly is a toxic, terrible, gaslighting human being that I just couldn’t enjoy. She’s not as selfless as she makes herself out to be and she’s super shallow.

Additionally, there was no inkling of a romance or special vibe between the two characters until the very end. So the “suspense” that I can see was meant to be there actually isn’t and the ending is just bland. I dunno it might be me and my unpopular opinion but this book was just meh. A great Friday night read to smash out in one sitting but it’s nothing special and it’s not memorable. The ending was super rushed and like I said, bland, it really wasn’t a special book for me. But it wasn’t completely terrible!

Thank you to @harpercollinsaustralia and @netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my review

What a charming read! Delightful beach reading. I really enjoyed the banter between Nelly and Raphael. What a fun adventure.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

The Wedding Favour is a charming and clean romantic-comedy. Nelly is a young woman aspiring to expand her blog and instagram into a career. She seems to have the perfect opportunity when she and her fiance are chosen to be featured in a bridal magazine. All these goals seem to come shattering down when Matt, her fiance, gets cold feet. Now she has an advance she can't pay back and a career opportunity to lose unless she can find another groom.

Rafael is a Columbian who has lived and worked in the UK for almost a decade. Now with his visa soon to expire he'll either have to stay illegally or return to the homeland that no-longer feels like home.

The story that ensues is very rom-com over the top, filled with cute moments and lots of angst and pining. It is all from the point of view of Nelly. She is stubborn, addicted to growing her social media and a bit self centred in her thinking. I found her, at times, infuriating. She had a vision of what she wanted her wedding to be and felt very closed off to any contributions - It's his fake wedding too, let him contribute to the planning. Rafael is dreamy - tall, toned and the coach of a children's football team. A particular thing that stood out to me was that he asked before ordering for her - something not always seen in romance.

I will note that there seemed to be one instance of the wrong word being used (melatonin was used when I believe it was meant to be melanin) near the beginning of the book. Outside of that I didn't see any issues with the grammar or spelling.

Overall, I found the book very enjoyable. It pulled me out of a reading slump and I devoured it in a day. I think it is a great summer or holiday read. Fun, quick and upbeat.

I've loved Lilly Bartlett's books since her very first one. A social media influancer has been given money for her wedding, except her fiance calls it off. I loved the premise of this one, any chance of an update on Rafeal and Nelly.

Such a great fun story. A classic fake relationship trope- Nelly is left without a fiancé three months before her wedding when he gets cold feet but she has signed a contract with a magazine for the story and paid a huge deposit on the reception with the advance from the magazine. Along come Rafael...

This is a easy fun read which is ideal for the summer and the beach.

It's a very easy story to follow, but I did find it a little annoying at times, especially when her ex was following her around.

The story moves at a fast pase and was predictive in it's ending, but still a relaxing read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for ARC

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this novel.
Initially I couldn’t get into the story at all but it did grow on me. I liked the character of Nelly and her family but Rafael best friends Mabs and the irritating ex Matt really continued to grate on me throughout the novel I’m afraid. I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would from the preview material.
