Lovely story. An entertaining read, as is always the case with books written by Darcy Burke. A fairly formulaic story, but no shame to that. A good romantic tale is just that. I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series.

The Duke of Kisses is yet another great installment of the Untouchables series, which has quickly become one of my favorite historical romance series of all time.
Fanny and David meet by chance while she is out for a walk and gets lost following a rabbit down a rabbit hole. David is there to escort her in the right direction where they share their first kiss.
Fast forward several months and they meet by chance yet again at a ball in London where neither one of them (a housemaid and steward) should never be.
Fanny and David are faced with what looks like insurmountable obstacles to their happily ever after of deathbed promises, threats of exposure, family history and hostility, and life threatening circumstances, but somehow they find their way.
As with all great writing, this read extremely fast and was very good with just enough carrot to dangle for Duke of Distraction, Sarah and, Felix, the Duke of Ware's story.

I once again enjoyed Ms. Burke's novel with the Untouchables series. She continues her series with the characters that have been in the previous novels, creating their own adventures while entwining other characters. Frances Snowden is the sister of a duchess and has plans towards spinsterhood until one day she kisses a man after being rescued by him. David Langley, Earl of St. Ives, believed he had to keep hid father's deathbed promise until he sees a woman near his property who intrigues him. Several months later, the two meet again, realizing they were less than forthcoming about their true identities. They both have a deep attraction toward the other and fall in love. However, they have several obstacles in their path, including the woman David's uncle and mother want him to marry and a past scandal involving David's aunt and Fanny's great uncle. Neither are willing to give up the other and plan to fight for the love they have for each other, which involves fighting off blackmail and Fanny's family who want her to marry someone else. I greatly enjoyed the plot and flow of the story and how MS. Burke built it up to a rather dramatic conclusion. The truth always has a way of revealing itself.

Enjoyable entry into the series. I really liked Fanny and David’s story. I feel like I missed something at the end when talking about Sarah and Anthony although I am looking forward to sarah and Felix’s story.

Family feuds can be harmful for generations. I felt so sorry for both Fanny and David. I was happy for the happy ending.
