Perfectly charming and heartwarming characters. Just enough heat! Interesting plot that kept me thoroughly engaged throughout. Enjoyed every minute of it!

This author is one of my favorites. This series does not disappoint in the least! She has a superior command of the written word, her style is instantly recognized. She has also done her homework about the time period. This series is heartwarming and highly entertaining. You just want to keep reading one after another like a box of bonbons.
I loved Christopher and Gloria's story. The lighthearted humor, as well as the undeniable chemistry made this a book I could not put down. The lengths these two go to for each other was refreshing and romantic. I can't wait for the next Dukes of Christmas book.
My thanks to the Publishers via NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review. It is some time since I downloaded my copy of this and in the mean time I have purchased and read the first two books in this series.
I gave this a 3.5 stars or 7/10.
This is the third in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series. All the books are loosely linked with some returning characters in them. However, you do not need to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one.
I enjoyed this story the third in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series, it tells the story of Gloria Godwin who is enthralled in all things heavenly and celestial. Acting as a matchmaker she sets about trying to find a suitable young lady for Christopher Pringle to marry. Her job should be straight forward on paper, but in reality it's not as straight forward as she planned. Having met her the day before and disagreeing with one another in public, he had no idea that he would be in her company again quite so soon. She had made an impression on him at the time and that impression proves to be her downfall as it soon becomes apparent that he only has eyes for her and not the young ladies that she has in mind for him. Will this star crossed pair fall in love with one another or will they be like ships that pass in the night and journey onwards alone?
Erica Ridley has a way with words that draw you into the lives of her characters. She sets the scene well and her characters make you believe in them, wanting the best outcome for them romantically despite any ups and downs that they encounter along the way.
This may possibly be my favorite series ever! Each book is a total joy. Gloria and Chris Pringle’s love story is also a delight. The clever dialogue, the endearing characters, and just the charming town of Cressmouth itself, makes me want to visit it again and again. I love all of the writings of Erica Ridley but the creativity of these stories is exceptional!
Erica Ridley's books tend to be a bit hit or miss for me. This one is definitely a soft hit. It's a light-hearted story with some comedic details. I found the characters to be rather well done and made the story worth the read.
This is book 2 in the Twelve Dukes of Christmas series, and it does not disappoint. This is a well-written light-hearted romp with wonderful characters that will grab you right from the start and hold you until the last page. It's a lovely and charming Christmas romance that will have you wanting more.
A lighthearted and humorous regency romance. Although it’s set at Christmas time, it would be enjoyable at any time of year, if you like this trope. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC copy of this book.
Christopher Pringle decide he is ready for a wife while Miss Gloria Godwin had other plans for her future. A Christmas tale of humor and romance from an author I enjoy. Don't miss this one.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
I loved this story. Christopher and Gloria were a good match and things progressed really fast for them. I loved how Gloria faces her fears for love.
Rumor has it, charming adventurer Christopher Pringle is finally ready to settle down. He’s searching for a free-spirited bride to join him on his travels. But when the matchmaker he hires turns out to be the woman he had a public spat with the day before, nothing goes as planned!
Miss Gloria Godwin loves exploring the world… from the safety of a book. She detests her dashing client’s attempts to force her from her comfort zone. It should be easy to marry off the handsome heir to a dukedom. But the more she tries to match him to other women, the harder it gets to say goodbye…
This was a fun and enjoyable read that I quickly read through. I liked both main characters and the story itself. I recommend.

In searching for older books by Erica Ridley I came across Wish Upon A Duke. Published in November of 2018, it's book 3 of the 12 Dukes Of Christmas series. With only a passing nod to previous characters, Wish Upon A Duke stands by itself.
Christopher Pringle (don't you love the name?), is an dedicated adventurer. He likes rules, facts and things that are dependable, will stay the same. He's running from a bad childhood, though he thinks that's long over with. He's lonely and wants someone to be with him, a love match. His idea of a mate is himself in a skirt.
Gloria Godwin has been on her own for the past 6 years and has become set in her ways. Life has delt her a harsh hand and it's become twisted in her mind that if she stays still, changes nothing, that all will be fine. Both characters have been warped, in different ways, into thinking that a straight line and path will protect them. Christopher begins a kind of immersion therapy, working slowly to address Gloria's fears. In the process he comes to face his own. They grow and change together, it's sweet to see two such flawed people become whole again and find love.

I am really enjoying this series quite a bit. It's not quite fantasy, but the idea of a village where it's Christmas all the time is charming.
I also loved this trope - the hero hires a matchmaker, only to fall for the matchmaker. And it's not like Gloria doesn't try to do what Christopher hired her to do. She genuinely tries to find someone that will be a good match for him. It's more of a matter of "Be careful what you wish for," because all the things he thinks he wants, it turns out he really doesn't want those traits in a wife. Hilarity ensues.
If I had a complaint, it's that Gloria didn't really get to tell Christopher why she didn't want to leave Christmas or even sail away on a ship. I kind of wish we'd gotten that scene in the story. Other than that, this was a fun story and I'm looking forward to the next one.
A novella, “Wish Upon a Duke” is a short and fun read. It’s a good book to read on your lunch break. And though it is set during winter, it is also a good book to read while sunbathing by the pool or at the beach.
It started as a lighthearted romance, but as you get deeper into “Wish Upon a Duke,” you realize that everything is not as it seemed. The charming adventurer Christopher Pringle and stargazer/matchmaker Gloria Godwin have some emotional baggage from their past. And that baggage are heavy enough to hinder them from reaching their happily ever after.
“Wish Upon a Duke” is sweet and to the point. Rated T for Teens.
This is the third book in the 12 Duke of Christmas series. It is a wonderful addition to the series. I loved seeing previous characters from other books and meeting new ones. I loved how everything turned out great in the end. They were meant to be together and help each other in life. Must read!
I received a copy from NetGalley; this is my honest review.

-Over-the-top funny, but believable circumstances.
-Nick and Chris are so different that for Chris to have all these women falling at his feet is not a wish come true since he doesn't want an easy woman; for Nick though, it would be a like "all in a day's work" - nothing to it.
-Gloria broke my heart when she said no to Christopher; I could feel his pain.
-Christopher is so much by the book, even with recipes, but mostly with facts. Facts that beautiful Gloria put aside and invents her own, which gets her in trouble with handsome Christopher.
-Have fun reading the book; it's worth it.
This was a cute romance in a town that's uniquely Christmas all year round. Most of Erica Ridley's books are of the steamy/cute variety and this was no exception.
I couldn't feel the connection between Gloria and Christopher. They have nothing in common, and I didn't like the fact that only one of them sacrifice more to make it worked.
However, I enjoyed this quick read and the banter between this crazy couple.
I received an ARC from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review!
The next book in the 12 Dukes of Christmas, which I poorly timed to read after Christmas, revealed to readers that they should not trust in first impressions. The story begins with a bad encounter between Christopher and Gloria, but when Gloria is challenged by her friend Penelope (the heroine from 12 Dukes of Christmas #2) to be Christopher's matchmaker love ultimately follows.
Gloria Godwin is a girl who is perfectly content to keep her current circumstances due to traumatic events that caused her to loose her father and betrothed, and she has never gotten past it. Christopher is the opposite, he prefers to be jumping from one adventure to the next. When we meet him in this novel he is finally ready to marry, but not to stop his adventuring.
Overall this was a quick, easy read. While I did not particularly love this book, other fans of historical romance may adore it. I am just growing tired of the village of Christmas.
After finishing book 2 in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series, I debated whether I wanted to start right away on book 3. How could I resist reading Chris Pringles`s story, after all he is St. Nick`s brother. What a lark, between the "tongue in cheek" names to the cheeky characters, laughs abound. It is such a joy to return to Cressmouth aka Christmas. Chris is looking for his perfect match, however he finds opposites really do attract. He and Gloria Godwin certainly have enough in common including mutual attraction. The story is in how they finally accept their differences in order to keep the love they found. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I love the setting, the likeable characters, the many quirky ones and especially the way Erica Ridley makes each story unique.
