I received a free ARC from netgalley.

This was cute. A misunderstanding during the first meeting of the characters sets up some barriers. They are attracted to each other but have no interest in pursuing a relationship. Then they are thrown together by friends.

I wasn't sure how this would turn out. It really seemed like there wasn't a way for them to be together and be happy.

Another addition to this fun series. While the story if full of fun it also addresses a series problem. Gloria Godwin is ruled by her fears. She takes pretend trips but never leaves the safety of her village. Along came Christopher Pringle who is looking for a bride to travel the world at his side. Of course the two fall in love. I liked how Erica Ridley went about finding a solution to the problem the two faced. A fun read and a fun romance.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

This was a quick fun read. Ridley’s heroine is smart and funny, and her hero is handsome and respectful. The resolution of the heroine’s “issues” might have been a little rushed, but resolve them she did, and the happily-ever-after is charming.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Great book. Enjoyed it immensely. If you love the recency style, then this the book for you. Erica Ridley stories always have a great flow to them, and you can't help but delight in the character's. Would definitely recommend.

Sweetly thrilling, heartwarming and fun historical holiday romance filled with lots of witty banter, exciting twists and disarming passion..... this is a very fun and entertaining read that had me hooked from the first chapter... Loving this engaging and heart pounding sexy group of Dukes..... awesomeness.

This is my first read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Christopher and Gloria. It was a delightful and lighthearted quick read as I didn't want to put it down. I had some hangups about Gloria and felt she was holding on too much to the past and came across as whiney but it all worked itself out to a great conclusion. I will probably check out the rest of the series now to see if I recognize anyone. ;)

I received this as an ARC book for free in return for my review.

Miss Gloria Godwin leads groups of people on “sky-walk” tours where they learn the names of stars and constellations. This is a popular tour with people who visit the area. Named for Christmas, it is always Christmas here. Christopher loves astronomy and when he hears Gloria on her tour calling the different constellations by pet names rather than their proper names, he is outraged. I love how the main characters come together. A very sweet and easy read!!

When Mr. Christopher Pringle arrives in Cressmouth AKA Christmas, he is looking for a wife. Unfortunately, his brother who is a infamous rake is accompanying him and getting all of the female attention. When his brother's situation changes Christopher becomes the newest commodity in Cressmouth. Mr. Pringle (yes, you get the pun) astronomer and traveler can't wait to find a wife and move to the next adventure but how to sort out the many women via for his attention? Why hire a match maker in the form of Mrs. Gloria Goodwin, amateur astronomer and woman who can't leave her home town. The resulting story is mostly expected but still delightfully fun to read.

Quirky, funny & heart warming Recency romance with a Christmas theme. Thoroughly enjoyed reading about Christopher & Gloria explore the stars. Another good read from Erica Ridley.

This is part 3 of the 12 Dukes of Christmas stories, although the hero in this story is not actually a Duke, his brother is (and the Duke of the first story). Christmas of course, is the village of that name set somewhere in the mythical high lands beyond the Lake District, that is high in the (non-existent) mountains and which gets a lot of snow.

This village seems to have a very short spring and summer but the local population love the weather as it brings the tourists - along with the name of the village of course. And the time setting of these stories is right for when the Romantics started the craze of visiting the Lake District and falling in love with its scenery (not to mention writing rhapsodical poems under the influence of drugs).

So our not-Duke hero comes to the village with one thought in mind - he needs a bride to take with him on his travels, and he has 4 weeks to obtain this bride as his ship sails then. Of course, there are many maidens in this village who wold be delighted to go with him, but he sets his sight on one who is very reluctant to leave the village indeed. Our heroine hates the thought of travel as travel has brought her the loss of her father and her fiancée. She does however, love telescopes, astronomy and clockwork - and fiddling with them.

This is why I love reading these stories.

They are light. Predictable and happy and always with a much more modern heroine than you can imagine - in more ways than you can expect from a Regency novel! All her heroines are well educated often in unusual, for the time, subjects, and all of them happy to be unmarried.

This book is part of the “12 Dukes of Christmas” series set in the town of “Christmas” in the far north of England although it has little to do with the holiday. It is a sweet story about two people who are attracted to one another despite wanting completely different things out of life. The plot is set in motion by characters from the previous book in the series but the book can easily be considered a stand-alone. (However, I definitely want to go back and read the previous titles!) The romance unfolds slowly and naturally. The issues that get in the way of the characters’ romance are realistically portrayed, making a HEA ending appear unlikely. But never fear, Ms. Ridley is a good enough writer to bring us to a satisfying conclusion.

Wish Upon a Duke (12 Dukes of Christmas, #3) by Erica Ridley is another fabulously festive historical romance set in the quaint town of Christmas. This story can be read as a stand alone. Christopher Pringle came to town to find a bride. What he finds is a sassy matchmaker. This is such a fun story ingrained with the holiday spirit. The characters interact so well which makes the reader feel involved. I'm glad that Christopher and Gloria had their HEA after a rough introduction. Pick this one up if you're looking for something entertaining in the historical genre to give you the Christmas feels. I can also recommend the Rouges to Riches Series by this author.

Love this series of books. You end up loving these characters and their stories! I love humor in books so I was not disappointed.

I'm always a fan of enemies to lovers trope, and must say I enjoyed the hero even more in this story than his brother in book 2.

Christopher Pringle is nothing like his brother. Or what his brother used to be. He comes to Christmas in order to find a bride and settle down. Though settle down in his mind is having someone to spend the rest of his life with, including traveling adventures with said wife.

Little does he know, he'll fall for his matchmaker, Gloria Godwin. She's not like other ladies, in that she's quite the little engineer. As Lord Christopher learns more about Gloria, he realizes they have more in common than he originally thought. And Gloria might turn out to be the worst matchmaker, as she finds herself wanting to be matched with him, rather than the ladies she selects.

In the end, we learn a bit of their pasts, which make a match seem almost impossible. But never fear, there is always a happy ever after in romance. I'm quite frankly sucked into the series, and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This series continues to be such an enjoyable read. Christopher and Gloria have a story that keeps you turning the page and asking yourself if opposites really can attract. Christopher loves to travel and Gloria loves to read about travel. This story will not disappoint!

As with the previous books in this series of Christmas-themed Regency romance novellas, Erica Ridley has created a sweet, adorable romance with plenty of wit and sparkle. In this book we follow Christopher Pringle (the previous hero's younger brother) as he falls in love with the previous heroine's friend, Gloria Godwin. She's meant to be helping him find the ideal wife, but neither of them thought it could be her. Turns out, destiny doesn't listen to what you put on your wishlist.

The conflict is minimal, and this is very much a cozy romance. The main problem stems from Gloria's reluctance to leave her sleepy village, due to a fear of risks, which is tricky when Christopher loves to travel. But as I have come to expect from Erica Ridley, the eventual HEA is super cute. I love that this book, like the previous, has a heroine who is interested in science (specifically, here, astronomy). It's nice to see women with brains and a love of STEM subjects as heroines in historical romance, rather than as eccentric side characters!

These novellas can be read in any order, and are nice and pacey - perfect for curling up on a cold afternoon with a hot chocolate and enjoying some fluffy romance. I'm looking forward to the rest of them!

If in the previous book the couple lived in war - and the scenes were funny - in this book love is in the air.

Christopher is Nicholas' younger brother, and despite living in the shadow of his rake brother, Chris has always longed to find true love. That's why he hires Gloria, the matchmaker, to help him.

Gloria loves a good novel, that's why she's always reading. Her adventures are in the imagination, she never left the city of Christmas. There she found the peace she had always thought necessary.
When Christopher asks for help finding a wife for him, she promptly begins the search, but no candidate seemed right, and on the other hand, Gloria did not like the feeling of having to say goodbye to Christopher.

But even though she'd like to be his wife, the differences between them were huge.
Someone would have to give in. Someone would have to put love first.
Could both work and build their own fairy tale?
5 stars

Wish Upon a Duke ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️by Erica Ridley

This is the third in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series and I must say they are getting better and better.

Christopher Pringle is in search of a wife and he only has a short time to do it. While he is in this Christmas fantasy village he consults a matchmaker. Gloria seems a bit eccentric but more than willing. Chris has specific qualifications for his future Bride. As he meets several prospective candidates but he see how Gloria although having none of the qualifications he requires really fits the bill.

This sweet story shows how compromises will always happen if love exists. Ms Ridley is an author I truly enjoy reading she gives her characters heart.

Christopher Pringle has always stood in his brother’s shadow. All he wants is to find his one true love, a wife to join him on his far-flung travels. With only two weeks left before he sets sail his time is running short. When his future sister-in-law directs him to a matchmaker he reluctantly agrees.
Gloria Godwin loves her hometown where everyday is Christmas. Every month she leads a star-gazing walk and wishes upon a star. Her wish is always the same. To be noticed. Her father taught her to love the stars and to follow them, she has always longed to travel but the sea has cost her the family she adored.
The two have so many differences. Christopher is a rigid rule follower and Grace is unpredictable, but both want the exact same thing. To find the one that completed them. This is a light-hearted humour read that delights in its simplicity. I highly recommend this book. This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I will certainly be looking for the next instalment.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the third book in the series 12 Dukes Of Christmas and as with the previous two a delightful read. Can a world traveler and a maiden, who likes to read travel books, but is afraid to venture forth owing to the loss of family and betrothed while traveling find true love? The story has the right mixture of hope, desire, internal fear, and light comedy to hold the readers interest to the final paragraph. Fans, new or old, of Erica Ridley will not be disappointed in this offering.

I have rated this book 4 stars and would purchase it for friends and family.

I received an ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased review.
