4 Stars Reviewed by Lorrie Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog From the moment I started reading Drawn Into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds, I was HOOKED. I could not put it down! It is the fourth book in the Fluke My Life series. It’s a story about two people who have been unlucky in love and how they find it again. If you are looking for a quick read that keeps you entertained, this book is for you!! After six years of marriage, Courtney Williams finds herself divorced and alone. With the money she gets from her divorce she heads to New York City to start her life over. She’s strong-willed and determined to make it on her own. When she buys a new home, she hires handsome, Lucas Fremont as her contractor. There is chemistry from the very beginning with these two but both are holding back for fear of moving too fast. They both have baggage from their past that makes it seem like a relationship would just be too hard. Will they turn their growing friendship into something more? Only time will tell.... I really enjoyed this book. Reynolds portrayal of the characters was so perfect. I felt like I was there looking in on the whole scene. The story flowed well and I had no trouble reading it. Like I said before, I was unable to put it down!! Since I’ve read book four first, I want to go back and read the first three now! Although I liked both characters overall, I felt like Courtney was a bit of a baby at times. I didn’t feel like she had the fight in her that I was expecting from the beginning of the book. I wanted her to be more assertive than she was. Lucas, on the other hand, was strong and powerful but at the same time, he came across as pushy and demanding. I wanted to tell him to pump the brakes a few times. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the other books in this series. *ARC provided in exchange for an honest review* |
[I received an arc for an honest review] Drawn into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the fourth book in her Fluke My Life series, but can be read as a standalone. It's a wonderful story about family and love. Courtney and Lucas have both been let down by the person in their lives that they thought would make all their dreams come true. All they want is a family, love and the feelings of home. Courtney's ex-husband cheated on her and started that with someone else. Lucas' ex-wife gave him his daughter but not a mother or a wife. Lucas feels an instant connection to beautiful and caring Courtney. She feels it also but is afraid that it's all too good to be true and is hesitant to trust after what her husband did. It isn't long before she falls in love with his little girl, Lucas himself, and the life they could have together. Both Courtney and Lucas have some heavy baggage and encounter a few bumps on the road to their happy. " Everything becomes glaringly clear. I want her, and there is something between us— something huge. I haven’t felt this kind of attraction to a woman ever." Courtney is the sweetest and I admired her immediately. She is caring, kind and stands her ground when it comes to her ex-husband. Down to earth and with real insecurities, she made a perfect heroine. Lucas is everything I expected from Aurora Rose Reynolds, he's caring, sexy and an alpha. Once he decides to pursue Courtney he is ALL in and considers her part of his family. The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts and make you blush 💕 The third star of the book is Lucas' daughter Maddi, she is absolutely adorable and adds extra love and joy to the story line. "I miss you. Even here, with you in my arms, I miss you because I know I have to go and I can’t take you with me.” Drawn into love was everything I love about Aurora Rose Reynolds' writing and I can't wait to read what she dreams of next. |
This is something I notice with all of her books although it seemed more prevalent with Drawn Into Love. It’s obvious that Aurora Rose Reynolds’s writing is inspired by Kristen Ashley. I’ve read every single one of Kristen’s 50+ books so I’m incredibly familiar with her writing style, character mannerisms, and common phrases. I usually refer to ARR as “KA light” because it’s like I’m reading a KA book without most of the depth and emotions. Harsh, but true. ARR essentially writes Alphas and heroines that have many similarities to KA’s Alpha heroes and heroines. Not only that, she uses the exact same phrases and quirks that you can find in any KA book. It’s always bothered me and taken me out of her stories any time I come across such an instance, but I felt like she was channeling KA in every single page of Drawn Into Love. From Lucas thinking everything Courtney does is cute to him calling her “babe” or “baby” almost as soon as they meet, to Courtney whispering half the things she says when talking to Lucas and being amazing but not realizing. ALL of this is classic KA. It seemed like every page, I would come across something that would remind me of KA and it kept taking me out of the story to the point where I was just angry about it. There’s being inspired and then there’s just not having an original thought. I didn’t hate Drawn Into Love. I actually enjoyed it if I looked past her blatant KA inspiration. But I liked it BECAUSE it was like a KA novel. Not because it was a ARR novel. And for that reason, I can’t in good conscious recommend this book. |
After divorcing her cheating husband, Courtney relocates to New York City to start over. She’s got a new job and a new residence that requires some extensive renovation. Meeting architect Lucas Fremont she realizes her love life could use some renovations as well. Lucas Fremont is focused on raising his daughter, a relationship isn’t something that he’s looking for but his new client has given him reason to pause and think that maybe raising his daughter doesn’t mean he can’t have a life too. Book 4 in the Fluke My Life Series centers around single dad Lucas Fremont. Not much to say about this book except; like the other books in this series love happened fast and hard; and like the other books in the series, this was a fun quick read. The chemistry between the characters was great, the banter was there and I connected with them immediately. Whether you’ve read the other book in this series or not, it’s an enjoyable read. |
3.5 Stars In the aftermath of her broken marriage, Courtney Williams decides for a completely fresh start. Moving to NYC and using her substantial divorce settlement to renovate the home of her dreams, she is slowly moving on from her heartbreak. And then she meets her architect and the sexiest single dad in the city... Lucas Fremont would do anything for his daughter. With his ex out of the picture and his full time parent status, he doesn't have a lot of time for dating or a social life. But, the second he meets Courtney, he immediately knows that pursuing her is something he has to do. And when she instantly wins over his young daughter, he decides he is never letting her go... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drawn Into Love was a sweet, slow burn romance featuring two people risking their hearts at a second chance of finding the love of their lives. Courtney was devastated when her marriage ended, but with her move to NYC she has embraced her new single status. Not looking for a new relationship, when she meets Lucas, she immediately knows he is a special, genuine man. Lucas knew his ex wasn't the woman for him, but when she became pregnant he decided being with her was worth having a stable family life for his daughter. Until she proved that she wasn't the type of woman who sticks around and left them for greener pastures. Meeting someone like Courtney, whose love shines through everything life throws at her shows him that she is the kind of woman he is meant to be with, for him and his daughter. I enjoyed this book. With an entertaining plot and two charming characters who find the person that fulfills them, and the obstacles they face on their road to their HEA. I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review. |
This read is just heart warming. Both characters are so caring and family focused. Both strong and deserving. Something I really liked about this book is that Courtney and Lucas communicate really well. If he feels something is off he will ask and insist until he is told what the problem is. Then he will proceed to be clear about his intentions or how he plans to fix things. She didn't think she would like a bossy man, but she certainly likes letting him taking charge without loosing her strength as a woman. You will too. It's always ovary exploding and heart melting when a man is a good father. This story is no exception. Plus Maddie is adorable. She is the perfect focus for these two. Taking things slow pays at the end even when it gives you fingernail biting, I would have jumped the guy already type of feelings as a reader. He definitely is one of the good guys. Mama raised him right. |
I absolutely loved Drawn Into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds!! This was such a feel good romance story and one of my favorite tropes!! I was immediately sucked into this story and didn’t stop until I was finished. I read this book in 1 Day!! Drawn Into Love is the fourth book in the Fluke My Life series. It is a stand-alone novel and I don’t feel these books need to be read in order. They are separate stories and yes we see some over lap in characters but they play such a small part you won’t be lost or confused at all!! This is a single father romance about two people who have been hurt in past relationships and have a hard time trusting but are still looking for that love story and HEA!! It is told in Dual POV. I thought the pace and flow of the story was spot on!! Can Courtney and Lucas find their HEA?? In this book we follow Courtney and Lucas’s story. Lucas is the brother of Levi (from book 1) and is a single dad who has full custody of his daughter. Courtney has just moved to New York City after her divorce from her cheating husband is final. Determined to make a fresh and new start she buys a fixer upper for a house and that’s when she meets Lucas. She hires him to renovate her house. The attraction is instant but both have trouble with opening up. Can they learn to trust each other and find love again?? What happens when the past won’t stay in the past?? Read this book to find out!! I enjoyed seeing some of the past characters from the other books in this story. It’s always nice when we get updated on what those characters are up to since their book. If you are a fan of the single dad romance or you have read Aurora Rose Reynolds before, you are going to want to read this book!!! If you have read her work before this is the perfect series to get you started on her books. |
What a sweet single dad story. I love me some single dads and Lucas is a pretty freaking amazing one. He and Courtney had some crazy chemistry together. It was really adorable how much Courtney loved his daughter Maddi. This one was a quick read. There wasn’t a lot of drama and low angst. Just a nice and sweet love story. |
4.25 Finding Family Stars Lucas and Courtney’s story is probably my new favorite in the series. I love so much about it, but especially the characters and the storyline. Courtney meets Lucas following her divorce and moving to to NYC. He’s designing her remodel and when these two first meet, it’s clear that sparks will fly. Things progress at a great pace. The two of them considering all the factors at play before diving headfirst into another relationship. What I loved most: Lucas is caring, sweet, and takes such a great care of Maddi and Courtney. He’s the perfect guy! Courtney, similarly to Lucas, is super sweet and caring. She a great girl who was dealt a pretty shitty hand, but doesn’t let it affect her caring nature. I loved seeing her with Maddi. The family dynamic with Lucas’ brothers and parents. The story is well plotted and paced. I loved the additional scenes from alternate POVs near the end. It was a very well rounded story. Recommended |

Courtney and Lucas are basically cut from the same cloth. Both had failed marriages and are hesitant to jump into a new relationship. It’s only more complicated because Lucas has a daughter that he has to think about. I like when stories have children because it adds an element that can alter the decisions that are made for the characters. This one is no different. Lucas quickly became one of my favorite characters that Reynolds has written. He has that alpha male quality that we have come to know and love from her characters, but because of his daughter he has a softer side that he lets only Courtney see. He knows that he needs to do right by his daughter so he struggling with what he wants as a man and what he needs to do as a father. And Reynolds did an amazing job at playing both sides of the line. This book is not like the other books that Reynolds has written before. There is a love story in here, but there isn’t a whole lot of love scenes. It’s a different change of pace and I liked that she focused more on developing the relationship between Lucas and Courtney rather than just having a bunch of love scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I love them as much as the next person, but I did enjoy getting to know these characters. |
I’ve loved ARR, since her very first book. I know I seem to say this every time, but somehow, each book gets better and better. She always pulls me in right from the beginning, and then makes me fall in love every single time. Believe me, this book had me hooked, and I loved it so much! It’s time for Courtney Williams to start over. After her ex-husband disgraced her in a horrible way, she is ready to pack up and move as far away from him as possible. She has a new job, a new house, and she is finally able to breathe again. What she isn’t expecting is Lucas Fremont with all of his sexiness, and his sweet as pie daughter, Madeline. They are both a package deal, and how can she resist? Lucas is doing the best he can to take care of his adorable daughter. His ex-wife is in and out of her life, so he has to step up and be the mother and father she needs. Lucas wasn’t looking for love, but Courtney Williams is exactly what him and his daughter both need. She’s sweet, sassy, and downright perfect. Now, he just has to show her that they are the right choice. This is by far my favorite book in this series. I fell in love with Lucas, Maddie, and Courtney. They were so perfect together, even with all the hard times and struggles they went through. I was seriously hooked from page one, and I didn’t move, until I was finished. I can’t wait to get my next ARR fix. |
I was completely drawn into this story! Courtney Williams is packing up her old life and moving into the big city. Looking for a fresh start after devastatingly realizing her life was a sham. Now that her divorce is final, she’s leaving her selfish ex-husband behind to start over. She found the perfect space to build her new life. What she wasn’t expecting to find was the perfect man, her architect, Lucas Fremont. Lucas is the perfect male specimen (as most of ARR’s heroes are). He’s a single dad, totally alpha and absolutely amazing. He is possessive and goes for what he wants, and that’s Courtney. Never in a millions years did these two expect to find each other, but now that they have they’re determined to not let go. I adored Courtney! She’s such a likable character, I honestly didn’t find one thing that irked me. Even after all of the crap she’s been through in life, she’s still able and willing to love so fully. It’s beautiful the connection she forms with Maddi, and how easily they bond. Lucas, just as likable. He’s completely and utterly swoon-worthy! Not one to run around the block to satisfy his manly needs, he’s just been content to raise his daughter alone, hoping one day the right woman will come around. And she did. This is a standalone in ARR’s Fluke My Life series, and just like the other you will not be disappointed! |
3.5 stars. This was a nice story, a good second chance at love story. I loved the characters, in particular Maddi and Lucas. I did feel as if there wasn't too much to Courtney. The major problem I had with this book though was the writing. I felt the story was rushed and flew at a million miles an hour. There were quite often info dumps, it just didn't feel very polished to me. Despite this, as I said, I enjoyed the story, in spite of the writing style. It's a light, quick read, so give it a go. |

Wow, just wow! I only have words of utmost praise for Aurora Rose Reynolds, for ending the Fluke My Life series with such an amazing story. It takes a lot of talent and devotion for an author to deliver her best in every book she writes. I love her insta love stories, especially her Until Series. But the FML series has won me over from the start, because there's nothing better than flirty romantic comedies that make you laugh out loud and put a huge smile on your face. This is how I felt about Drawn Into Love. I swooned so hard about Courtney and Lucas, cheering for them from the start to get their second chance at an HEA. And don't get me started about Maddi. I loved this little girl with all my heart and soul! When I reached the last page I started crying like a baby. The end was pure perfection and it really hurt to let these characters go! Courtney Williams only ever had one dream: a happy family of her own. What she got instead were six years of empty promises, a divorce, and a well-deserved settlement that’s paid her way to New York. This is where she starts a new chapter of her life with a new job and a new home. Needing a talented architect to design the interior of her house, she seeks out Lucas Fremont. The moment Courtney meets him for the first time, she is blown away by his mouth watering looks. But this is not the only endearing asset about him. Lucas is also a devoted single dad and a great cook. All Courtney can do is wonder if men like him are for real? He seems too good to be true... Divorced Lucas is living his life together with his daughter Maddi who is the most important person in his life. Meeting and dating a woman is not high on his list of priorities, until he crosses paths with her: Courtney. A sweet, gentle and sexy woman that makes his broken heart beat faster. Lucas instinctively knows that Courtney is cautious because she's been hurt before, so he takes things slow at the beginning. But the more he gets to know her, the stronger his need is to make her his. But like in every story, there are some major obstacles in their way to a HEA like Courtney's secret and Lucas' bitter ex Eva. If their love is to stand a chance, they’re going to have to fight for it and put their both pasts behind for good. I adored Lucas and Courtney. They had such an amazing chemistry! He gave her stability, protection and attention. With him and Maddi, Courtney found the kind of family she was always yearning for. But Courtney gave Lucas so much in return. She made him and his daughter smile and filled their lives with happiness again! She was the missing puzzle part in their lives. With her, they finally felt whole again. If you love single dad and second chance at love stories, than this book is for you. I honestly enjoyed each and every page and highly recommend it. Thank you dear Aurora for this gem of a book that I'm putting straight on my favorites shelf. 5 stars! |
This book was so great I couldn’t possibly put it down I read it an two days and I still want to read more books in this series. I can’t wait for your next book |
Courtney Williams is starting over in a new city far away from her cheating husband (now ex). Lucas Fremont. Smokin’ hot single dad and all-around good guy. While both have been burned by past relationships, Courtney is cautious when it comes to this “to-good-to-be-true” relationship. But Lucas is not going to let her slip through his fingers. He will fight for their happily ever after and prove to her that dreams do come true. I love how Madeline was involved in their growing relationship. Courtney’s bond with Maddi was sweet and Courtney’s heart was so full of love for both father and daughter it made me feel all the feels. In true ARR fashion, this is a insta-love read and a bonus for this hilarious insta-family. This book had very low angst and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect match for these two than each other. Although this is Book 4 in the Fluke My Life series, all of these books can be read as standalones. Do they have recurring characters? Yes, but since each book primarily concentrates on each couple, they are easy to follow. |
I've been wanting Lucas' book since Running into Love and I'm so glad we got it! Gave me all the feels and everything you want in a ARR romance. |
When it comes to swoony hero's with some hot alpha tendencies, Aurora Rose Reynolds has that nailed. Drawn Into Love features two divorcees that meet one another seemingly at the right time in their lives which goes so well with the series name Fluke My Life. Thrown in a completely adorable little girl and you have what I would consider a romance hit on your hands. What I loved about these characters was their personalities, they were both extremely caring individuals and you could absolutely feel that. Both Courtney and Lucas have some exes that definitely had me cursing out loud at times throughout this read. With ups and downs, a ton of sweet and tender moments Drawn Into Love is a book that I found myself reading easily. I enjoyed the exchanges with all three characters, my heart melted specifically at certain moments involving Lucas's daughter. And let's not forget that I love hero's that are alpha's and Lucas is definitely one of them, his protectiveness was bossy and hot. I look forward to the next read from Aurora Rose Reynolds, she consistently delivers books that appeal to my romantic soul. |
Stunning romance book. Darn into Love is a whirlwind romance based on a single dad Lucas who loved his daughter with all he's got and a recently divorced woman Courtney who was blinded sided by her exes affair. The two cross paths when Courtney moves to NY and needs someone to help her remodel her new home, spark fly by the touch of fingers and the rest is history. I totally fell head over heels in love with Courtney we connected because she was similar to my personality, and she was super adorable, caring, and over all one of the best heroines Aurora Rose had written. Then there is Lucas he is super sweet and when you see his interaction with his daughter you know he is perfect for Courtney. The pasts are horrible and show up a few time thru out the book, but overall its about them and how they have a love that blossoms. I couldn't put it down a perfect book to this collection! |
Drawn Into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds is book Four in the Fluke My Life Series. This is the story of Courtney Williams and Lucas Fremont. I have read (and LOVED) the previous books, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Courtney is out to start a new life after her longtime husband is caught cheating and making his girlfriend pregnant. Courtney had a on going issue trying to get pregnant so this his harder then just a regular cheating. Lucas is a single father who is trying to raise his daughter after his divorce and his ex-wife lack of involvement in their daughter's life. When Courtney becomes a client for his architect company she starts to open the trust and want into him again. Courtney is learning to trust again with Lucas and her love for his daughter is growing quickly. I have become a big fan of Ms. Reynolds writing...I recommend this book and her writing highly. |
