What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this

This is the first book. In a three book series featuring the March sisters. It was an easy read but also very easy to predict.
Alex has come to her sleepy family town after her mother’s death. Alex has a high powered job and Husband in Boston, wanting to get back there as soon as possible. Her sister Charlotte who stayed in their home town and ran the family bridal boutique ‘Match made in Devon’ with their mother wants everything to stay the same. Enter into this mix Alex’s childhood sweetheart Jonah and a surprise third sister, Freesia, and you can guess how the story unfolds.
If you’re a lover of old style romances then this will be perfect but I like my family drama with some unseen twists.

Alexandra and Charlotte own a family wedding shop. They help find wedding dresses. Their mother dies of a heart attack. The family says they have a long lost sister and things get complicated with the property.

Confronting your past is difficult when you meet your childhood sweetheart again. Memories that linger can be painful or cherished. Definitely a great second chance romance.

I really wanted to love this book. It is cute and some would find it fun, but I just couldnt connect with the characters. I liked the bridal shop setting but just felt so so about the plot. Thanks to netgalley for the arc, the review is my opinion.

I'm unable to recommend this book because I didn't realize it was part of a series and I'm not sure about how the character interactions. I was not overly fond of Alexandra (Alex).

The first book in a fun, flirty new bridal series. I enjoyed the dynamic between the sisters, discovering family secrets, and the bridal shop setting.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

Our Bridal Shop by Danielle Blair is the first in a new series. Love, betrayal, redemption. That's all in this book about what we think at first are two sisters that come back together after the death of their mother and trying to put their lives back together after finding out that the Bridal Shop may not be all that they thought it was, and that there are secrets that both of their parents were keeping hidden...a sister that they find out about after the reading of their mother's will. How will it all turn out? Will they come together for the good of all? And how about that love that Alex left behind? Want to find out more? Then read this book. Good plot, good story.

Thanks to netgalley for an arc of the book for an honest opinion.

I am a sucker for multiple books of a well written series that tackle a bunch of friends/siblings till their happily ever afters are all well settled. That said, I need to comment that the covers for both the books of the series are too generic and do not match the description of the sisters, their attires, physical sizes and only the fact that one of the them is not the same 'colour' as the other two is indicated in these standard covers. I am not saying they are unattractive or that it wasn't the first thing that caught my eye but they do the story inside a disservice.

The second book can be read without the first but if you end up reading the first, do not miss reading the second because this is not a standard happily ever after type of tale and you deserve to know what happens next.

Alex is home for her mother's funeral. She hangs on to her life by the tight threads that she ties between her and all her problems. They keep her upright till a couple of them snap. Charlotte is the poster girl for a happily ever after on first glance, good kids, a loving husband and a standing in the society that she's lived all her life. There is a third sister thrown into the mix now, someone whose very existence is a mark of the fact that childhood rose coloured glasses do not always show the true images. There is turmoil and more than one breakdown in the book but the writing was pretty great and not all straightforward. There is as much revealed to us between the lines as there is by the actual presentation of facts. There were times that I had tears in my eyes and times when I cheered for the trio to make their way to stability as they manage a bridal boutique. This first installment is mostly Alex's story but we do not ignore the other two.

The only reason I was unable to give it a full five stars was because there were too many instances of adultery making it a teeny bit repetitive. It is a quick read and a good one as well.

Really enjoyed reading this heartfelt, warm and sweetly engaging journey and looking forward to more from this exciting new series. This journey is about love, forgiveness and family, not only is it as second chance romance but it also is a new beginning for the sisters to become closer and get to know one another. Lots of heart in this very enjoyable read.

This book was cute and fun to read. The plot was interesting but convoluted at times, although the story of three sisters uniting and a first live being rekindles were compelling. The use of Evangeline as a middle name/nickname was not clear and was actually very confusing for most of the book.

I wanted to like this story but it just didn't hold my attention and I couldn't bring myself to care about Alexandra, the main character. On top of that there was so much family drama that it became more of a melodrama than an engaging story. It moved very slow and I found myself putting it down for days at a time and reading other books.
It wasn't written badly but this story just wasn't for me.

This was an enjoyable read although there was a lot of family drama. It was a good debut for this author and will make a good beach read. Thanks to Telay Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Our Bridal Shop is the first book in the Match Made in Devon series. It centers around two sisters who live completely different lives and reunite for the reading of their mother’s will. They discover they have a half-sister they never knew existed and all three are forced to spend time together to decide what they’re going to do about the bridal shop they inherited.

There were a few times the story would go in an unusual direction and I’d get lost for a minute but just as quickly I’d catch up. It’s difficult to explain but I think that’s just the author’s writing style. The story itself is wonderful. It’s about love and loss, hopes and dreams, family, friendship, forgiveness, and redemption. I’ve never read Danielle Blair prior to Our Bridal Shop but now I can’t wait to for the rest of the book in the series to come out!

I’m frankly torn on “Our Bridal Shop” for several reasons. While I found the premise of the story interesting, how that story was delivered to me was easy to put down and walk away from. If I’m engaged in a story I should not be able to easily put it down, finish another book and then return. That’s not my usual reading style. Yet, I wanted to know what happened with the sisters and their new situation so I did return and finish their story.

Part of that reason of being able to walk away was the main character, Alexandra. I simply could not like her, there is no other easy way to say that. If I do not care if the heroine gets her happily ever after or not, then I’m not engaged in her story at all.

I would call “Our Bridal Shop” a good story, one that has an audience that will enjoy it. And, it may surprise you to hear that I will be picking up the second story, “The Butterfly Dream” mainly because my curiosity is engaged, I want to know what happens next… and I’m reluctant to make a decision on whether I’ll follow an author or not based on one book.

Yet, the truth is, mine is only one opinion. The only one that matters is yours… so if the cover description sounds intriguing to you then you should read it and make your own decision.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This book was disjointed for me. There was so much drama and details that did not make sense in the first few chapters. There was a lot of time when I wasn’t Shute which sister was talking and I became really frustrated and ready to move on.

Our Bridal shop was a good read. It was filled with drama, family secrets and finding forgiveness - for yourself and others. I enjoyed Danielle Blaire’s writing style, especially the dash of humor she includes which helped balance the stressful situations that the characters were facing. It is written from the perspective of the three March sisters and while this particular book was focused primarily on Alex’s story I found myself drawn more toward Charlotte, the sister who remained home and started her own family while Alex moved away to a high power job in the city. I think since Alex was harder for me to connect with it left me wanting a bit more from the story. Each of the March sisters are quite different in their life experiences and struggles, which I’m sure will allow readers to connect with at least one of the sisters in some way. As the next book focuses on Charlotte’s story I’d be interested in continuing the series and finding out what happens next.
