After finishing this book I feel disappointed. I loved Th1rt3en and I think that is part of the problem that my own expectations before reading this next book were so high. The book didn’t turn out the way I thought it would, but I was happy to go along for the ride trying to figure out what was happening. I enjoyed the role of the detectives in the book as for the most part we knew everything that lots of the characters didn’t and the detectives helped bring it altogether.

Cavanagh is still a fantastic thriller author, and there were moments in this book where I was really shocked and gripped by the story line. The final 50 pages for me were just too much, it felt unrealistic and the amount of twists were unnecessary.

Thank you for the book in exchange for an honest review, I am sorry I didn't enjoy it more.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for this arc. I've enjoyed Cavanagh's Eddie Flynn novels so was excited to read this. Like most of his previous books the style for this one is pacy and high-octane with plenty of twists.
This starts with an extract from a book by J.T.Lebeau, then we see a prologue where the prolific author Lebeau has died and a man named Paul Cooper is there to shoot someone when a stranger places a hand on his shoulder and tells him, 'You're Lebeau.'
Cut to four months ago and we meet Maria, married to Paul Cooper. They live in a quiet area called Port Lonely where nothing much happens. Maria is unemployed because she there isn't much job opportunities and her husband travels a lot, so she is feeling lonely. She is having an affair with Daryl, a waiter at a country club. One evening her husband is away on a trip and she has Daryl over. She goes into her husband's study searching for cigarettes when Daryl accidentally breaks her husband's drawer, and finds a bank statement that says he has $20 million in his account from Lebeau.Enterprises...Who is Paul Cooper? And what secrets is he hiding?...Maria is shocked at her husband's deceptions but she won't go down without fighting and so she and Daryl put together a plan to get their back at Paul and taking his money...
This book had lots of twists and turns and I could not put this down. This is a binge in one sitting type of read. Towards the end I did find there were too many twists and some of the character's motivation did not make sense to me. It wasn't clear who Lebeau really was and why he wanted to hide his identity and how did certain characters figure out who he was and what his relationship with Ben Crenshaw, was. This part of the story wasn't explained and I was confused as to how Ben knew who Lebeau was. I felt at times logic was suspended in exchange for twists which didn't always follow through. Overall this was a well-plotted book with a great premise albeit a flawed execution. Nonetheless this was a fun ride, and if you're willing to suspend your disbelief a little this is an engaging, popcorn read that is high in octane and pace. 3.5/5

Twisted. What a perfect name for this book. After a little while of reading, I had to go back and start all over again as I was sure that I had missed something.

My mind was all over the place reading this. I felt pulled from pillar to post and didn't know what was going on, but all in a good way.

Very highly recommended.

Stunning, brilliant, engrossing. All the way to the end, all the way, I was desperate to turn the page. I love the way the twists and plot development worked. I cannot wait to read the rest of his works.

Story of secrets and deceive, The two main characters are not likable but I kept reading because how good it was . The build up is fascinating . Author tried to make us understand why these people doing this and what behind their thought. I really liked their inner voices.

By half way I was shocked, everything I thought will happen, didn’t!
Absolutely twisted story, loving how we are taking for a ride , after years of reading you think you can predict everything, but noooo. You can see this going straight to movie!

I absolutely liked the book and was extremely excited that I was at the last couple of chapters, but the end wan not what I hoped for (As I liked one of the character but he/she didn't survive . I love Steve Cavanagh books . If you are new to his book try The Defense Eddie Flynn series .

I was a huge fan of Thirteen so I was very excited to be invited onto the blog tour for his next book Twisted. I must admit that I approached this book with a fair bit of trepidation as I didn’t think any book could be better than Thirteen. I needn’t have worried though as I thought this book was just as good if not better!

The story does start off a little slowly but soon gets going and becomes very intriguing. There are lots of twists and action which makes the book hard to put down. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, there would be a huge twist and the story would go in a completely different direction. I’m normally quite good at guessing how things are going to end but I had no idea in this book. The ending was brilliant, shocking and totally surprising which I always enjoy.

It’s hard to review a book like this as you don’t want to give away anything that would spoil a potential readers experience. This is especially true in this book as I think the less you know going in the more you will enjoy it. Rest assured however that you are in for a interesting, rollercoaster ride whilst reading this book!

Huge thanks to Tracy Fenton for inviting me onto the blog tour and to Orion for my copy of this book via Netgalley. If you like twisty, gripping and unpredictable thrillers then you’ll love this book.

I'm left disappointed. After I loved Thirteen by Steve I was excited to read more. This did sound amazing. But I was left underwhelmed .
Maybe it was my mood. But I struggled with this. It ended up taking me 2 weeks to complete. I just couldn't get into it or want to pick it up.
I did skim read a little to see if it helped. But I think it made it worse. I was sort of confused what was actually happening at times.
I disliked all the characters so I found it hard to care about them.
I will check out some of Steve Cavanagh older works still. But this was a miss for me.

I don't think I have much to say about this book other than it was truly twisted and unnecessarily confusing. The "twist" was revealed pretty early on, but the book just kept going. I was a HUGE fan of Cavanagh's Thirteen, but this one fell short for me. I will be giving his Eddie Flynn series a go sometime in the future, but sadly, Twisted just wasn't for me. I felt it contained a lot of redundant deaths and gore moments. I'm not entirely sure what the point is of making the plot so confusing.

I absolutely loved this book. Requested it after having read Thirteen which blew my mind. If anything I think Twisted is even better! The book really does twist and turn, there's no way I could've seen the end coming. It really did twist!

I really enjoyed this book. It's action-packed and incredibly tense and doesn't let up for a second. I loved the ending ... very clever!

A very clever book this one, lots and I mean lots of twists as the story goes on. Can't really say much about the plot as I don't want to give anything away, you just have to read and see for yourself... absolutely brilliant!

After devouring Cavanagh's 'TH1RT3EN, I had very high expectations for this one. Unfortunately, I was left wanting more.

World-renowned author J.T. LeBeau is one of the best thriller writers in the industry. His books always guarantee a killer twist that no one ever expects. But LeBeau isn't your average writer. He is completely anonymous - only 4 people know his identity. Which means 4 people know what he's done. But that is about to change.

This book had so much potential. I liked the idea behind the story and was ready for the author to drag me into a gritty thriller that would keep me guessing. But I didn't feel that. I wasn't urged to read on, the writing felt mediocre and wasn't refined, and I didn't connect with any of the characters. The twist didn't knock me off my feet. and once it was revealed (quite early on), the book just slowly dawdled on till the end. I think it was hard to live up to the expectation of the books main character - J.T. LeBeau. The author was basically competing with his own character.

I think this book needed a second big twist. With the number of thrillers churned out these days, this story just didn't cut it for me.

This is a novel where the title says it all, it is so twisted! This is a novel where you can’t trust anyone or anything and everything you think is true really might not be as you think it is. I sped through this book because I simply had to know what was going on and how it was all going to turn out. You really should go into this book without knowing anything much about it so I’m keeping this very short and vague but trust me this is such a brilliant and fun rollercoaster of a thriller and I highly recommend it!

'BEFORE YOU READ THIS BOOK
I WANT YOU TO KNOW THREE THINGS:

1. The police are looking to charge me with murder.
2. No one knows who I am. Or how I did it.
3. If you think you've found me. I'm coming for you next.

After you've read this book, you'll know: the truth is far more twisted...'

Well I'm not going to say too much, I'm going to keep this brief and to the point.. you really need to read it to believe it.. but.. that was the most confusing and twisting riddle of plot I have ever read and i totally mean it in a good way. This book had me questioning everything!

After reading so many amazing reviews, I had been eager to read Twisted for quite some time. When I first picked it up I have to admit my head was spinning a little with what I was reading. I enjoyed how I was kept on my toes but I also think I was maybe expecting something different. The title of this book pretty much describes the events in this story. I was taken on a very twisted and intriguing journey where nothing was quite as it seemed to be! I always enjoy being kept on edge trying to figure it all out and this was certainly the case with Twisted. I knew there would be plenty of twists waiting for me but in a way this was also a downside because on occasion I was sat there waiting for the next one to pop out at me.

The pacing of this story is pretty fast! I really did feel as if I was completely caught up in this out of control situation right alongside the characters. The different perspectives just gave you a hint of what’s happening and you never really get to know them very well. I guess in a way this helps to add that all important mysterious edge to the book!

Twisted is a story with a difference one that will unsettle you, keep you on your toes and make you question everything!

The Twisted is certainly an apt name for this novel. The twists come thick and fast in this, providing this reader with quite a few "what the hells??" OK, hell might not have been the word I used. Anyway weirdly the twists, as good as they are, ended up a problem for me. In the second half, I found myself disconnecting a bit as I couldn't trust a word written! That said this is a great read, not quite on a par with Thirteen but definitely up there.

I really struggled to write this review without giving any spoilers away as the less you know before reading it the better your experience of it will actually be.
The book is based around a person called J.T Lebeau, who is the 'author' of the book.
It starts off normally enough with a man called Paul about to murder one of the few people who know who J.T. Lebeau is when he is whispered something that makes him stop.
After this we skip back 4 months and then things get very confusing and I found myself having to go back quite a bit as I felt I must have missed something.
Throughout the book there are multiple narrators, which makes it a very interesting read, although we don't really get the feel for them as it would ruin it later on.
Overall the book is as twisted as the name and it kept me hooked all the way through as there are so many red herrings you really don't know who to believe.

As the title suggests, this book is packed full of twists and red herrings. If you can suspend your disbelief and go with the flow, it’s an entertaining, pacy read.
