Untamed is published by M&B Dare and written by Caitlin Crews. Lucinda Graves, an international business woman who works for a company that wants to buy the hotel resort located on a private island owned by Jason Kaoki. He is already a billionaire who has sent 4 of her colleagues packing minutes after they try to persuade him to sell his island. This time, however, he is intrigued by the sassy, determined red head and wants to see how far she will go in her quest to get him to sell. He sets her a series of challenges which are both challenging and risqué. She rises to each one and the chemistry between them deepens.

This is a novel about two characters who are driven to succeed, not looking for love or relationship but sort of fall into it. Most of the book focuses upon the sexual rather than emotional relationship but the last few chapters really develops their characters/relationship. I’m not sure if I enjoyed this novel or not. The challenges Lucinda undertakes are childish and somewhat embarrassing. After initially standing up to Janes she seems to acquiesce to his every demand and is a bit of a wimp, which goes against the Dare brand ideal of a strong independent woman.

Sizzling hot from the start and I don’t just mean the weather. Lucinda finds that doing business on a remote Pacific Island has a completely different set of rules.

Lucinda and Jason are successful and rich, both have known physical and emotional hardship and it has left its scars. Relationships have not featured in either of their lives to date. Both players, they embark on a series of sensual games. They both want to win, but neither expect the prize to be so life-changing.

This is an intense story, concentrating on the couple. There are some surprisingly poignant moments as their earlier lives are revealed. The romance is hot and explicit as expected in the Dare series. There is romance too, but it follows in the wake of their physical awakening.

The ending chapters are romantic and allow the reader to see how far the characters have developed since their first meeting. This is part of a series but reads well as a standalone story.

A story for those who like glamorous, hot romantic stories,

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I've started to read the Dare books. I have read a few now. I love reading about a fictional hotel business, it adds such a glamorous atmosphere. I really enjoyed reading about these strong characters, both wanting success in their own way. Lucinda Graves seemed to have done her homework and gathered all her information before upon meeting with Jason Kaoki. Lucinda represents an international hotel business, she wanted to build at the resort where Jason lived on a private island. It was true that Jason was a rich man, but Lucinda offered that she could make him even richer, is that even possible that Jason could be made even richer and would he know if he become richer? I do love reading about the super rich, it's an escape route reading about that's far different my profile in life, I'm nowhere near rich. The only real reason why Lucinda Graves had come to the private island in the first place was talk to Jason about a resort and not play around in his bedroom. What will become of this? Will it just remain a fling or a bit more? I recommend the Dare books as you can always take a look at the Dare collection and see which blurb from the books that may edge you on to read one.

I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to read a Mills and Boon Dare book, but better late then never, right? This is a great introduction to this whole new series of books and a whole new-to-me author.

Even though this is apart of the Dare range from Mills and Boon, it is also book three in the Hotel Temptations series, which very easily can be read as a stand-a-lone. There are mentions of character’s that I believe are apart of the series, but I saw them more as backing story about Jason.

Lucinda has been sent to an unnamed tropical island in the middle of the Pacific, her task is to get the reclusive owner; billionaire Jason Kaoki to sign over his hotel to her companies ever expanding empire. The only problem is that he has already sent four of her colleagues packing within minutes, she is adamant that she will not be leaving his island empty handed. She is a sassy, bold as brass, determined woman who has worked hard to get to where she is, which means she will do what ever it takes to get the contract signed.

Jason Kaoki just wants to live in his isolated in peace, yet he keeps getting harassed by all this ‘suits’ who want to buy him out. He didn’t become a multimillionaire by being manipulated into doing what he doesn’t want to by large companies, so he knows exactly how to get rid of the pests in suits, that is until he sees the latest one sent; a vivacious fiery red-head who knows her mind and is far more determined then any of the other’s. He plan’s to see how far she will go to get what she wants, so he presents her with a few challenges which will push her to the limit, but how far will she go?

The story is set across a couple of days, as Lucinda and Jason play a game of sexy cat and mouse, as they fight each other for control over the situation they have found themselves in. I found that we don’t really get a sense of who these two until further into the book, their true character’s are quite shadowed to the reader which also makes you keep reading as you are intrigued as to who these people are. I like the pacing of this, nothing is slow or long winded, not dragging of the feet waiting for the bedroom scenes. From the moment Lucinda and Jason meet, boom; pent up sexual tension ripples and hangs in the air like a heavy fog.

I don’t think I need to warn you as this is a ‘Dare’ book, but I will anyway; that this is very hot, there are some extremely spicy scenes, so if aren’t fans of erotic romances with strong language then maybe this isn’t the best book for you the language is shall we say colourful with very hot scenes.

Its a great little story about two lonely and work focused people who aren’t so much looking for love but just fall into it by chance, the story is very much focus on the challenges between Jason and Lucinda and how far they can push each other before one breaks. I found their romance a little slow as it is very much focused on their sexual relationship rather then the emotional one, but those moment when they are truly getting to know each other near the end is very tender and well written. The only thing I didn’t like about this was how Lucinda allowed herself to be manipulated into these challenges. She is an intelligent women who really shouldn’t have to resort to wearing teeny-weeny bikini’s, surfing and showing off her ‘arse’ just to get a contract signed. I didn’t like how he exploited her like that in the beginning, apart from that I enjoyed the story, I just would have preferred Lucinda to stand up to Jason a bit more, like she did when she first arrived at his hotel.

Overall an enjoyable weekend read.

Oh yes, this was a very enjoyable story, about career and personal challenges, on both sides. Finding love and commitment, setting out with unconventional expectations that lead to true deep feelings and commitments.

My thanks to Mills and Boon, Caitlin Crewes and NetGalley for the opportunity to read UNTAMED.
What I liked about this novel was that although the trope was familiar, the setting and the characterisation of Lucinda was very different. She wasn't looking for romance, or sex, or any kind of human interaction that involved getting close to anyone. What she wanted was Jason Kaoki's beautiful tropical island in the searing sun so she could turn it into a holiday resort with a sumptuous hotel for rich holiday-makers to make their dreams come true. When she meets the very hot Mr Kaoki, she realises she must deal with her unwanted attraction to him before negotiations for the island begin. Jason is tall and athletic, the perfect poster boy for the company she works for, but he has other ideas. He doesn't need money and he doesn't need publicity. What he needs is someone to take him out of exile, self-imposed when his mother accused him of following in his errant father's footsteps. Will Lucinda Graves, a professional businesslike woman with a city suit and vertiginous heels be the type of girl to do just that when Jason is used to sun-kissed models who wear not much more than a smile? A fun, spicy read.
