Left with a large sum of money Stevie decides to buy a tea shop in the picturesque village of Tanglewood.

The first few chapters up to buying the tea shop I struggled to get enthusiastic about. Stevie's family are unlikable characters. Once Stevie moves to Tanglewood things get a lot more interesting with the immediate welcome of character Nick Saunders. Well she frightens his horse while driving past him on the road.
We are suddenly welcomed by all of these wonderful people and I'm glad I continued to read this. The scene were Stevie goes out drinking with Leanne (one of the locals) is particularly funny and starts the ball rolling with her relationship with Nick.
I particularly liked Nick's sister Tia who is confined to a wheelchair after an accident while riding. Her character is very well written and I felt sympathy towards her as she feels like she's holding people back. Also a lovely old lady called Betty who likes to push the characters in the right direction due to missing chances in life herself.

A heartwarming story of love and friendship.
I finished the book feeling happy and would love to read a sequel one day to find out how everyone is getting on :-)

This book had such a cute cover and looked like a whimsical read, but I was stunned when I was well into the book (and enjoying it) and came across an F-bomb ... I was so disappointed, and I quit reading at that point. My blog readers have made it clear they don't want such profanity in the books they read, so it was a shame to find this, but I won't waste my time reading a book I know I'm not going to be able to recommend.

I just finished this book and it was a lovely read! It is the perfect book to read with a cup of tea.
I really liked the story, it was really cute. All the characters had their own personality and it was possible to see them evolve through the book.
Stevie is really a brave woman and never gives up despite everything.
I would love to have a book 2 of this story!

It is simply lovely.

Charming, amusing, entertaining, uplifting, and whatever positive adjective you could think, "The Tanglewood Tea Shop" is. A story about fresh starts and opportunities.

After receiving the inheritance of her great-aunt, Stevie decides to left behind London to settle in her own business, a cozy tea shop, in the picturesque village of Tanglewood. There, Stevie makes new friends and also some malignant comment in TripAdvisor about her shop, but she fights to get your business run successfully with the priceless support of all her new friends. However, Stevie doesn't expect only one thing and it is that the desire and love rise up at first sight with the handsome Nick Saunders.

If you are looking for a romantic comedy, please, mark my words and read this new novel by Lilac Mills, in which you could find all kind of ingredients that a good contemporary romance must have.

This book was absolutely charming! It was a delightful beach read.

I really needed a book that was just light, fluffy, and cheery and this was the perfect fit!

It was nice to read a book featuring characters that are not all "picture-perfect". Moving to the country from the big city is a big step for Stevie, and starting your own business is an even bigger step. But sometimes the big risks bring big rewards.

The Tanglewood Tea Shop by Lilac Mills was the perfect beach read! This book make me feel like I was sunning on the beach somewhere even though I was at home reading over the weekend. I loved the story line and how developed the characters were. I look forward to more from this author!

I love Lilac Mills books! And this one did not disappoint. Yes - it's another 'tea shop' book but read it anyways!

I loved this book - it had me yearning to be part of this community and have that feeling that I belonged and that I was loved. A must read!

Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book! 4.5 stars!

Narrative and plot

This is my second book from the author which means I had some clear and high expectations out from it. And the book didn't disappoint. It had that signature voice full of life and wit. Told in both the male and female protagonist's perspective, it focuses more on Stevie and her life.Personally, I'm a foodie and I always enjoy a shop with good aesthetics. Naturally a story about the origin of such a shop piques my interest. There is a Teashop in the title of the book. So it is definitely for the foodies. The plot itself lends many scenarios for fun and laughter. The ending might have been a little fairy tale-ish to my taste but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Characters and Conflicts

The book had several interesting characters apart from Stevie and Nick who are the  main protagonists. Stevie is your typical chic-lit heroine with a mission. She is charming, funny and innocently beautiful. You are bound to root for her right from the beginning.Nick is your emotionally complex and handsome brooding gentleman. Of course those are the cliches but it is written in a manner where things are always interesting. The interaction between Nick and Stevie wasn't much but I enjoyed whenever that happened. Although the love story could have used a bit more background. In the end it felt a tiny bit forced. As if it all came to place by some magic particularly with a Cinderella theme in the background. With the Teashop being an important part of the book, I was expecting more hurdles on Stevie's way while running the shop. There were conflicts but I wish there were more. It was more about how Stevie felt at home in Tanglewood than about the shop. Then again, it must have been a misinterpretation of the title on my part.

Conclusion

Despite it being not what I expected, I enjoyed this book a lot. It manages to keep up the excitement of buying and opening a Teashop and the issues Stevie has to deal with henceforth. It makes you laugh at some of Stevie's comical antics and witty monologues. This is your perfect escape route (with a yummy cake and tea ofcourse) on a warm or rainy day.

By reading the Goodreads summary I was convinced I would love this one but sadly I did not.

The basic premise is Stevie inherits a whole bunch of money which makes her family mad so she goes off and buys a teashop in a small town. Soon after she buys the shop drama and romance arise, oh my.

Let me start this off by saying Stevie's family is horrible. I don't know if their introduction was what starting my dislike for this book but it is very possible. Stevie was also pretty unlikable and unrelatable until halfway through.

The romantic storyline was way too instalovey even for me and yet it also somehow seemed forced. In fact all the relationships seemed forced for me except the ones involving Tia. Speaking of Tia, her and Betty are the main reasons this book is even getting two stars from me. My mom has cerebral palsy so it is always nice to see someone with a disability represented like she was. I adored Betty and just wanted to hug her and let her bake me something delicious.

Also I had a huge formatting complaint with how everyones thoughts were written. It would have been so much easier if they would have been italicized instead of being placed in quotation marks.

This is a cute read. Beach read or any time read. Adorable characters. I wish I could do what she does in this book. It’s a secret..you have to read it yourself.

I really enjoyed this book. I chose it because i wanted a light hearted quick read and this is what it was. Although you may think oh god not another tea shop book. This one was more than that. It had great characters and a great plot.
I lov3d the characters, they all had different layers to them not just what you saw on the surface.
I hope there is another one of these. I really enjoyed the authors writing style as well so will be looking out for me of her work.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as I have some of the authors previous books.
It was still well written, and pretty entertaining, but it took me a few days to get through, whereas I normally would get it read in one sitting. I still look forward to whatever the author has releasing next though.

I received a digital arc of #TanglewoodTeaShop from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the last book I read by Lilac Mills so I was hopeful for this one too, and I was not disappointed. Lilac Mills writes in a way that draws you in. She creates really likeable characters that, as a reader, you care about and want to learn more about. I felt I was one of the regulars in Peggy's Tea Shoppe and would have loved to visit there myself!

I didn't want to put this book down and really enjoyed it. Parts of it really made me laugh and it was a light hearted fun read, which I think I needed after having read quite a lot of darker psychological thrillers recently. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this author in the future.

I cannot tell you how much fun I had reading this book. Rosie’s life changes suddenly so she decides to make a traveling tea and desserts van. She meets all kinds of interesting people along the way. #NetGalley. #RosiesTravelingTeaShop. #RebeccaRaisin

The book started off slowly but did improve.
It turned into an enjoyable read but it did lack some depth at the beginning.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but it certainly won't be the last as I really enjoyed it.

An easy lighthearted read which I found heartwarming and comforting. A lovely tale of family, friendship, new beginnings and community spirit. I liked the setting of Tanglewood - it is a place I would love to visit. I found the characters all engaging and I was keen to find out what was going to happen next. The baking made me hungry and I would love to try some of the wonderful things made by Stevie - recipes in the book would have made this perfect.

A lovely cosy, relaxed read perfect for a Sunday afternoon on the sofa, I recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I did enjoy reading this book and I loved the vibes of it. However, the plot was nothing spectacular and it was really predictable. At first I didn't like Stevie but after a while I could endure her. Regarding the other villagers, almost all of them were really nice, welcoming and helpful. I appreciated that a lot about the book.
