Aunt Peggy has passed away! Meanwhile Stevie was fired from her job as a chef. A surprise came with the death of the aunt. Stevie was left with huge amount of money with an advice: "Use the money wisely..do as what your heart says." After struggling with the ideas of what to do, she decided to open a tea shop in the beautiful village of Tanglewood. After opening her shop, Stevie had her ups and downs. She also made number of friends and some romantic flings.

I am very much enjoying this sweet romance. I love seeing how supportive Stevie's family is. Stevie herself is also interesting. She is portrayed as someone with strong willed and a hard worker. She does not mind to struggle and starts her life over. She is also lovable. I love the dialogue also. It is funny, witty and entertaining. This book is definitely a book..a sweet romance that one should read...

I really enjoyed this book, full of funny moments. A tale of friendship and loves, tangled together with the creation of a cafe and a batty old lady. One question - what happened to the cat? An entertaining, light read. Perfect for winter evenings or sunny afternoons.

Stevie had a special bond with her aunt Peggy and inherits a sum of money to get her going after a few set-backs. With that money she opens her very own teashop and even finds herself a cat. Cats are always quite a nice addition to stories, if you ask me. But in this case it is what gets her in trouble, with the furry Peggy being mistaken for another animal.

Nevertheless, she is of course in far more in danger when it comes to her love-life after meeting Nick, but ending up going out to dinner with another man: 'He's a bit of a lad, if you know what I mean. He'll have your knickers off before you can say boo to a goose' as her elderly friend Betty puts it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this feel-good story. Stevie herself is an easy character to like, who somehow gets treated badly by others. Nick, the love interest is ridden with quilt and isn't interested in a relationship. I would've liked a bit more interaction between these two characters, however I did enjoy the scenes where they were together.
Betty, Tia and Cassandra were fun and their side stories and personalities made the novel more appealing. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the cakes and wished the tea shop was down the street.

A lovely light-hearted look at life in a village. Stevie inherits enough money to buy a cafe, just not in London where she lives and had worked as a pastry chef. She buys a café in the Welsh Marches and finds life very different. There's one person who wants to close her down and another who wants to get close and have her stay forever, but who will win.

An enjoyable read.

This was a cute, fluffy read. Ideal beach book. The only thing that bothered me is that the thoughts were written in exactly the same way as the speech and it wasn’t clear that the person was thinking, not talking, until the end of the sentence. As I received an ARC from Netgalley, I’m not sure if this is something that will change before publishing but it was my only issue with an otherwise well-written story. 3 stars.

Such an inviting cover that matched the story perfectly!

Stevie is left an inheritance and almost on a whim moves to a rural community where she opens her own tea shop. The story follows her trials and tribulations to keep the customers coming in through wet summer months and also facing the challenge of a particularly harsh lady who has declared war on sugar and therefore Stevie's cakes.

Along the way Stevie makes a number of new friends that all sounded so charming, I'd so love to be part of the community! Stevie also has a couple of romantic interests - the question being will either of them turn into the read deal or is she destined to end up a spinster like her great aunt Peggy who left her the inheritance....

This feels like a tried and tested storyline in the romance genre but there were added aspects which brought a little something extra to this particular story. A few examples include wheelchair-bound Tia battling internal turmoil to try and find her own true love and the sharp as a tack Betty who finds disaster hits her life and has to try and find her feet again.

To sum up this was an enjoyable light-hearted read that had likeable characters and lots of yummy sounding cakes!

Stevie inherits a small fortune from her aunt Peg and decides to use the money to buy a small tea shop in Tanglewood. Moving from working for a Michelin star restaurant in London to a small tea shop in a small village isn't without its challenges but Stevie soon makes friends.

What with dealing with the little old ladies, the yummy mummies and the school children, not to mention her less than supportive family, Stevie has her hands full and don't even get her started on the hunky man she saw riding a horse down the small High Street on her first day in Tanglewood.

I enjoyed this cosy small own romance, surely there's nothing better than reading about scrumptious cakes when you've just started a new diet, right :)? In fact my biggest issue with the novel was Stevie herself. I know that her cluelessness was meant to be humorous but honestly I found it exasperating. How can an intelligent woman in her mid-20s not know that when a riding stables talks about Shetlands they mean Shetland ponies? There were other examples, each one of them jarring rather than funny which didn't really gel with the Stevie we had come to know.

But that was a small niggle, otherwise this was a joy of village life, friendly locals, scrummy cakes and plenty of eye-candy.

What I enjoyed most was the main character and how she overcame the struggles she was going through, and worked hard to make her dream a reality. Stevie relocates to Tanglewood in Wales and opens her own little tea shop in a beautiful little village there, being the pastry chef she is, what better to do then throw some sweets on the menu. Of course finding love is in there too, but it's not the main focal point in the book at all. For me the best part of this whole book, was how the author's words flowed, i.e. describing the characters, and this wonderful little village, oh how beautiful this must be. I seen everything through this author's writing, as if I was there, and when a book can do that for me I am hooked. Thank you to NetGalley, Canelo and Lilac Mills for the opportunity to read this wonderful book.

A great story line with brilliant main characters.. I read this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down.

An enjoyable read. The story of Stevie who re-locates to Tanglewood in Wales, leaving London far behind.
She soon makes friends with an interesting bunch of people. And then of course there is Nick, who owns the local stables and has his own reasons for keeping away from dating.

I love how stevie followed her dreams and ignored her mother and sister ( who are 100% jerks ugh) This book recorded her journey to building up a new shop/business but also learned how people in small towns know each other and have each others back. Its a great experience for both stevie and me haha! love reading this book definitely recommend!

The Tanglewood Teashop is a lovely read. Wouldn't it be fun to own a shop? I love the descriptions and plot involving the shop. The characters are delightful and fun. Although the story is somewhat typical, it's a nice read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was a lovely, heartwarming read. I have read and reviewed quite a few of Lilac Mills' novels and I can honestly say that I enjoy all of them. They're easy to read, enjoyable and overall just really happy and lovely. This one in particular I really warmed too as Stevie was so close to her aunt and she doesn't get on too well with her mum and sister so I'm glad everything worked out in the end for Stevie!

First of all I like the setting of the book. We have enough stories about London, and UK countryside so it was quite a refreshment to see something set on the border of Wales. I immediately wanted to see the Google pics of this place if possible or something very similar and go there during summer!

Since the main character is a pastry chef you should think that enough of sweets and cakes have been mentioned in books such as this one these past decade. But interestingly so the cake descriptions weren't boring at all! I found myself drooling at one point of reading because the descriptions were so vivid and because I could actually imagine myself in this tea shop eating those delicious cakes and getting fatter by the moment! :)

The second thing that I really liked is the fact the the love story wasn't the main plot in the book but the hard work of Stevie, the main character and her struggle to keep her business afloat as well as finding new friends and coming to the idea that living in a village isn't that horrible.

The dialogues are quite funny and elaborate but nothing too much too bore you. One will also enjoy the backstories of every character because every time a new character was introduced I wanted to immediately meet him/her!

The thing that I liked the most is the depiction of Stevie's relationship with her family. Even though her mother and her sister are quite the 'characters' she didn't want to immediately close any links with them or get rid of them from her life or tell them not to come to her new place. The writer just wrote what every young woman feels when it comes to the relationship with a parent and a sibling - love, confusion, madness and warm affection.

So to conclude - I liked this book because it definitely showed us the way to look forward and not linger to the past and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!

The unexpected inheritance couldn’t have come at a better time. Stevie has lost her restaurant job when she learns her aunt Peggy has left her a substantial amount of money. Stevie uses the windfall to purchase a cute cafe in a lovely little village, planning to open a tea shop and serve lots of yummy sweets. Things start out well, but there’s a strange undercurrent running through the village, that has shop owners pitted against each other, not to mention a group of yummy mummies who believe sugar is deadly. Stevie’s food is definitely on the no no list. Of course there is a guy in the story, but the best parts of this book revolve around Stevie making a go of her tea shop
